@@beverleyevans3262 he’s not the only contestant with a musical theatre background or prior dance experience. I’m not even referring to the technique. I’m totally taken with his charisma and energy. It’s showmanship that gets the public vote and he’s got it in spades! Understandable that not everyone likes the camp style but I love it. So entertaining!

Absolutely think he is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to see him. Same crying people do every year. If everyone was a complete novice what a boring show it would be. Need all different kinds of people. That’s what makes the show so special. Plus Amanda, Nigel, Adam, Angela. All previous dance training. Nobody is giving them hate.
I _adore_ this lineup!! Genuinely, everyone seems paired up so perfectly, and so many couples seem like they're gonna do so, so good!! Good competition this year!! So many great couples!! Can't wait!! I'm gonna be restless all week!

Totally agree. This first group dance had some surprising skills among some of the celebs. Of course, the professionals did a great job training them to show those skills well.

Layton williams, towered over Nikita in those high-heeled boots. Nikita giving Layton a kiss at the end of the routine as if to say I've deffo got a chance of making the final with you, baby! All the negativity wasn't necessary, when others had dance experience too. One thing they all had in common, was no one had ballroom or Latin experience.
I just love how the group performed! Did everyone notice that the last 3 pairs at the end of the dance were the last 3 pairs standing in the finals?😮😊🤙👏🎉🎊🙌

I swear i can't take my eyes off Layton and Nikita! I've loved Layton for years (Huge BETM fan you see) so I was so ecstatic when he was announced and already LOVE his partnership with Nikita (Eventhough I honestly thought Nikita Squared was going to happen 😅) ❤

It’s because instead of doing a strictly tour thing her and her boyfriend kai did their own tour and strictly wasn’t happy with that. So they decided not to give her a partner.

our thoughts (part 1/2)
Amanda & Giovanni: did not have high hopes for her until i saw her in this she blew me away. not the most likeable person in the world but i can see her getting to at least the quarter finals.
Angela R & Kai: knew it was going to be kai. have a very very bad feeling she could win. shirley has basically already admitted to favouring her so she’ll be around for a while.
Layton & Nikita: possible finalist? although the british public tend to dislike any talented dancer that isn’t a straight white male. definitely one of my favourites.
Krishnan & Lauren: i see potential, i thought he’d be out first but he could make it halfway? excited to see what laurens choreography will be like.
Eddie & Karen: very impressed with him in this, but shouldn’t be surprised as hes danced latin before. i have a feeling he’ll be very good but won’t make the final.
Angela S & Carlos: have no idea how good she will be, but even if she’s terrible, she’s one of my favourites i absolutely hope she makes the final.
Zara & Graziano: halfway? not sure about latin but ballroom for her should be good.
Adam & Luba: luba could finally have a decent partner (not a huge fan of her choreo though) he’ll definitely stick around a while
Who doesn’t love a bit of disco? The celebs look amazing so far. Can’t wait to see what they bring!

All the couples this year are perfect and I love that pretty much all of them have potential to make it to the final and there's not an obvious couple that's gonna go first. It feels like a proper competition this year!
Ive been saying for a while that Nikita would be amazing with a male partner and I think he could potentially do some incredible things with Layton, and I feel like Giovanni will have a bit of a comeback with Amanda after his shocker last year, and I'm so glad that Luba finally has an interesting partner, she could actually get quite far this year (and I'm personally rooting for Adam, so Im praying that Luba can do it). I've got a feeling it's going to be a brilliant series. Sad that Nadiya didn't have a partner though.

Strictly Come Dancing is Back Baby 2023, bigger and better than ever.
The line up for this year what a great group of people, there will be some firm favourites to a lot of people I won't tell who mine is (Adam), I will say I think head runners of dance ability will be just from this group dance alone, Layton Williams, Eddie Kaki, Amadnda Abbington and Angela Scanlon, will they go all the way that remains to be seen, this is not just a dance show this is a popularity show too so the tables could turn who knows.

Love Angela's energy at 78! Brings back memories of her Morcambe & Wise routine many moons ago. 🙂 Layton Williams looks like being an entertaining contestant, although I do wonder how fair it is to include someone who has studied dance at stage school and dances professionally too. Then again, I suppose it makes the programme more interesting to have the widest range of abilities in it.
You just KNOW that Morcambe and Wise sketch will be dragged out at some point in the series. Impossible to resist.
Let's see how she does, for her being the oldest contestant this season is impressive. I'm from the US and the oldest contestant in our version of this show was actress Cloris Leachman, she was 82 when she competed back in season 7, she made it to the final 7 and got eliminated. Rip Cloris Leachman. As for Angela let's hope she can go far

Wow! I feel like we just needed strictly even earlier this year but here we go, looking good already! Ones to watch are Layton (wow wow wow Nikita is going to be the best with him), Angela S looks good fun and very flexible, Amanda was surprisingly rhyhmical and natural and Angela R can already spot and great energy, Bobby looked abit shy but Dianne will help him much. Ananbel did a fabulous lift some wow factor and Les Dennis and Adam Thomas 😳😂 I HAVE NO WORDS ●.● XD

Amanda, Eddi, Nigel and Angela Scanlon look like good movers. I think the Bobby and Dianne partnership looks phenomenal and I'm predicting them to be finalists. Layton and Nikita look incredible also but I don't know how I feel about Layton's dance experience...

I should have ranked Eddie higher. I initially gave him only a Maybe. He has the hip action and timing already and is uninhibited, like Hamza, things that cannot be taught quickly. I placed others above him because of their pro partner's track record for choreography. However, Karen first went far with Charles Venn, so my first-impression ranking should have put Eddie & Karen higher.

Layton is my fave right now honestly hes incredible. I know he has a dancing background but so does many other contestants that are and have been on the show.... may i remind people to michelle visage and faye tozer! Yet they didn't receive the same hate that layton is getting.
Right? It’s 2023! People need to move on. Do they really think they’re going to find a whole line up of people that don’t have an ounce of rhythm? I’m looking forward to Layton and Nikita’s performances 😊

Really great pairings! Everyone looks like they're all on the same level tbf, nobody possesses any natural talent for dance except Layton. I think Nigel and Angela Rippon could surprise, Bobby and Amanda could be good, and Eddie looks like a mover. (And they only get 1 week for their first dance! Is that new? I seem to recall the contestants getting their usual two weeks last year...)

Based on this performance I think either Katya, Karen, Luba, Nikita or Johannes will be the pro to win it this year 🙌🏻🎉 Layton was strong, Adam & Eddie both have a lot of charisma, Nigel looks quite natural and Annabel has beautiful posture. They stood out the most to me. Krishnan & Les are obviously the weakest and the rest I think will be somewhere in the middle.
I think jody is the least adept, though krishnan and les are also pretty poor. One of the younger females is also wooden, but, i do t really know who any of them are so i cant remember her name

Layton is the front-runner. Nigel, Amanda, Ellie, Eddie and Bobby stood out as the best dancers beside Layton. Annabel surprised me, she is up there also. Angela R and Angela S both look like they have real potential, but AR was a bit stiff of hip and AS was a bit all over the place limb-wise here and there. Zara, Adam, Nikita, Krishnan, Jody, Les looked the weakest (in that order). Les will be a wonderful duffer, I hope he does well. Also found Krishnan really charming so would love to see him go a few weeks.

As a fellow American who watches both this version and our version here in America, I can agree, I don't do early predictions but I got eyes on each of the contestants

Nikita & Gorka: uh oh. won’t make it past week 5.
Ellie & Vito: one of my favourites, i didnt expect this partnership but i think they’ll be really enjoyable. hopefully a finalist.
Jody & Jowita: this is one that i have no idea what to think of. on one hand i thought he could be a dark horse but this dance didn’t give me much confidence in that. probably halfway.
Bobby & Dianne: whoever put these 2 together, i love you. praying this is diannes year, she absolutely deserves to win. bobby will almost definitely make the final.
Nigel & Katya: i wouldn’t be too happy if i was nigels wife rn.. anyways he seems very likeable and i think ballroom will really suit him. semi-finalist?
Annabel & Johannes: whoever put these 2 together, i hate you. while she did come off a lot better in this than i expected, can’t imagine wanting her to get far.
Les & Nancy: i’m afraid nancys semi-final streak ends here. enough said.
can’t wait to look back at this after the final in december and laugh at how wrong i was.
Dianne was very open last year to struggling with Tyler's height, Bobby is just as tall, she's not able to choreograph for taller partners, which is why she did so well with Joe..I think Bobby's likeability will keep them in for a while but that's it.
@@Jac-JayAlso perhaps other factors lead to Tyler and Dianne’s unfair premature elimination like the Strictly voting public is harsher on Black or Asian contestants and their dancing mistakes won’t be overlooked like some white contestants. Like just like at how many times Molly Rainford or Fleur East were in the dance off in 2022 when they were nearing the stronger end of the leaderboard or towards the middle.

But then Hamza won and the year before AJ was never in the dance off. And Ore won despite being bottom two twice and the other two finalists being white and never in the dance off. Think people over think things
