- Natalie and Deepti reveal the behind-the-scenes stories of two other couples who got engaged on Love is Blind Season 4 but were never seen on the show. In this two-part interview, JP Schultz and Wendi Kong share their "lost" stories of getting engaged in the pods and explain how they felt watching the show as their moments were left on the cutting room floor.
Lol girl, there was ZERO chance the cameras were NOT going to follow SHANE😅😝
I wish in between seasons, LIB would have a “unseen footage” of just one or two episodes of showing the others couples in the pods/engagements. And then just close the episode with a where are they now kinda deal.
Yes! They can post uncut footage and I would watch that.
I really don't know why they don't do this. They already have the footage and they know they'd get views. The only reason not to I can think of is that it would disrupt the already established stories of the couples who did move on to the next round. JP seemed to allude to that, that there were things going on that would change the perspective of certain couples time lines that Netflix already curated (like he and Chelsea and Micah had connections for example, and Netflix already decided to tell C & M's stories through a certain narrative that might get messy if they now showed a third party involved). I don't know but I wish they would too!
@justineelyseda that’s a good point I hadn’t thought of that. I wondered too if there were also legal reasons for they couldn’t. But it would be nice I agree! Something to keep me entertained while waiting on the next season.
It would be interesting to bring on a contestant who didn't match with anyone, like they did'nt see any connection, what happened next, did they leave immediately?
Being part of the experiment, free honeymoon and ring, finding a fiance and none of it being aired on TV sounds like a huge win to me 😂
They don’t get to go on the trip if their story isn’t followed.
@@butterflygirl141 oh really! I thought they got the honeymoon at least. That’s a shame
but none of it would be paid by production though... so not so much of a win if you actually do want to get married
@@Momoiro0 true I didn’t think of that 😭 not a huge win then lol
Planning a wedding in 3 weeks without financially preparing is unrealistic for many people
I think it’s super unrealistic like JP said to follow the same timeline if your no longer being filmed or have the guidance from the producers. It’s a very odd situation and I can understand what he’s saying.
Its so interested to hear JP's side - him and wendy were great! Fantastic episode :)
The reason they allowed Irena and Zach is because they knew Bliss was going to be contacted eventually. they went with the possible idea of entertainment
Yep.. they wanted that drama
I was entertained. Mission accomplished. It's just good TV at the end of the day
Yup! Also because they had already filmed them in the honeymoon
I really like hearing another perspective. I wish the show would’ve given us a small glimpse into the other love stories that didn’t fully play out
“Genuine stories” aka stories that also make for great tv
I get really good loving vibes from JP. I understand not being able to get married in 3 weeks without financial support from LiB
Yeah I get why he wanted to slow things down. The other couples that were filmed probably weren’t sure about saying I do at the honeymoon either. having that time and space and then eventually moving in together for a few weeks probably helps to develop the relationship. If you don’t have that I can see why he pumped the brakes.
There is no "all i did was _____" and i am so happy Deepti cut off Natalie saying this. Your own narrative is such a big part of your path and I love how Deepti plants seeds to help Natalie reprogram those limiting beliefs. Girl, instead of, "all i did was _____" try "i did ______." You are allowed to have confidence and love within your self and deserve to feel worthy and enough!! 💞
You are exactly where you should be on your path of life. You are on the path of becoming the exact person you are meant to be.
I am 36 and just had my first baby 6.5 months ago. Im in a fb group with 80,000+ "old new moms." There are so many of us and seeing women have their first kid in their 40s is so inspiring and gives me so much hope for having another. Society makes you think you dont have time and your clock is ticking but everything happens exactly as it should.
My son, Phoenix, was born with a rare disease in which he had no ability to 💩. He has had a rough 6.5 months but underwent surgery to hopefully correct this issue 2 days ago. He is doing well and had his first 💩 diaper this morning!!! Tears of joy!! Before we decide to have another, we need to undergo genetic testing to see if this is likely to happen with a second child. Maybe adoption will be the better option for us but just remember always that you and everyone else are on the paths of becomming exactly who you are meant to be.
Netflix needs to allow a night for people who are engaged and not followed to process and decide what they are doing- This is honestly so sad- All miscommunication and misunderstanding and insecurity and they werent given any chance to talk before it spoiled- that intense an experience cant be unprocessed together and not boil over. Just sad- if he is being honest (unsure- he seemed "over it" pretty fast) but if he is honest it sounds like they were in love- and both came out hurt and confused. Giving them their phones and one night together before flying- etc wouldnt have been to hard for netflix
Would love to hear Ava’s side of the JP-Ava story.
absolutely!!!!
Jp doesn't seemed genuine to me, it's obvious the minute he knew their story wasn't being followed he was no longer interested.
One thing Cameron pointed out on his CZcams channel I agree with..how people willing to propose to 2 or 3 people like that.. I think after season 1 "some" people would propose to anyone just to go through the next phase and get more screen time.
They should give more space, even a little, to those storylines ! Given the success of the show, people will watch it and it won’t break the narrative that much. Maybe at the end after the reunion ! It’s quite unfair that more than half of the contestants don’t have air time … you don’t see that in any other show
JP doesn't seem genuine. As soon as he knew his story wasn't followed he broke up. It doesn't feel like he even tried
Honestly I’m Hispanic and I am used to shows (especially reality tv shows) having at least 50 episodes and THAT IS THE LEAST, Netflix has a huge budget and I cannot understand for the life of me why they film people for SO long and then just show 5 min clips between the couples each episode, and then 10 episodes per season. It feels unfair to the people in it, because so much of their personality was cut and edited out to be a certain way and it is unfair to the watcher in a way I think. I don’t feel certain to have opinions based on the footage I’ve seen, it is so annoying how much they cut out and they could definitely expand more. Idk what happened to longer seasons.
I respect Natalie's monologue at the beginning about being alone. This is very honest and what alot of people experience. it is natural to want a partner, i appreciate Deepa's support, but Natalie is right in the sense that you can't wait forever. The longer you wait the smaller the pool becomes (Great women and men are getting taken). Wishing you both all the best.
I can see how she would feel rejected, she was likely still insecure about his feelings and the first free from câmeras interaction was not “I can’t wait to be with you “, but “we can meet tomorrow if you want “ as if the excitement of meeting was not there. I am sorry things played out that way, souds painful
Did anyone else notice that JP had the same background as Josh & Jackie on the reunion?
I just looked it up and yeah it is! wtf?? I’m confused lol
ikr!!! it's so weird
Even if he didn't have money for a wedding...he could have still stay engage and then get married a year or more after..I mean that's what people do in the normal world. He broke it off bc of the combination of not getting screen time and not being attracted to her. You can tell he's truggles explaining the airport situation cause he's in the wrong. I'm glad they dint feature him
Love it! You guys stay giving us the content we want and need! Keep it up, ladies
Will you guys do a recap/behind the scenes of your season?! I feel like it would be so fun to go episode by episode (or 2/3 episodes) and hear your commentary and behind the scenes!
This!
YES! Like the ANTM Jay/J Talks, those were JUICY!
JP is a fliiiiiirt. Got that vibe so much from this podcast. Also he sounds exactly like Kwame!
Deepti looks smitten. JP is cute and all ☺️
DEEPS, UR HAIR IS LOOKING FIREEEE. SO PRETTY!
Hey Natalie! To expand on Deepti's perspective about your experience on reality TV and how you're feeling like you haven't done much, I 100% feel you! I was raised in a family unit that placed a significant emphasis on my achievements and lately, I've realized that it's because I experienced conditional love (definitely unintentional, but still a factor). So if I did X, then I would get attention in the form of Y. Unfortunately, the standards between my siblings and I weren't equal, and I had to achieve a lot more to get the bare minimum, which resulted in an overachieving go-getter who feels like I have to prove my worth all the time. I had a worthiness wound that I need to heal and in doing so, I've actually started to embrace all of the accomplishments that I've had over the years that I've associated with "failures" or "bad life decisions." I in no way am trying to diagnose your experience, but I've felt similarly about myself and wanted to let you know that your contribution was and had been AMAZING. I think that you're one of the most genuine people I've seen on reality TV and although the conditions in which you were spotlighted might not be conventional, they've helped millions of others lean into their authenticity (including me).
Interesting that these 2 guests can be a lot more forthcoming, opinionated, raw, and honest (or at least honest with their take on things), compared to the regular cast members, because their romances weren't on camera. I guess they are "off contract" once they are no longer being followed by crew? I found them way more interesting and forthcoming than your cast member guests.
Wow, given Wendy’s profession, I would THINK she would know how to articulate her thoughts well, communicate C L E A R Y.
She’s speaks very similar to Paul. Just feels like they are constantly chasing their own tail.
Omg yes!!! I agree 100% !!!!!!!
I be here every week ready for another episode
Oh this was tea I need to hear all the lost stories
Kinda wish they filmed at the airport now
Deeps looks really pretty on this episode, I think it’s the green on her!
So JP and Ava didn't date after getting off the plane!? No dates? Restaurants? Meeting the family or friends?
You two are so beautiful! Don’t let the bad comments get to you. I know easier said than done but you two have bonded so much and had opportunities these people who rudely comment could only dream of. ❤
Love your podcast ! greetings from France :)
Question! What happens with the timing between proposal at the pods till the first face to face meeting?! On the tv seems to happen all on the same day
Wendy is really gorgeous!
I don’t think JP is all wrong. Ava definitely had some unrealistic expectations. She seems pretty dominating.
As a fellow female engineer, i am a bit surprised the first lady wasnt more verbally articulate. Maybe she was nervous?
Not all smart people are great communicators.
The uhhs and ummms were tough for me 😅 is that lack of media training? 🤔
I agree! And wondering if this has something to do with why production didn’t pick up her story.. no shade love the pod🫶
This was my thought too. If I were an editor, I would have a very difficult time. She seems like a lovely woman, but her speech lacks punchy concise statements delivered confidently, which is good for TV and editing. As a viewer, it was hard to keep my attention as well.
I don’t think it’s a media training thing. Some people are just not made for television and it’s not a bad thing. I honestly think her story not being aired is a blessing and everything happens for a reason.
@@nicoletteperry8052 agreed. I kinda thought while listening to her that maybe that’s why her story didn’t get picked up. She wasn’t the best with her words!
OMG I noticed it too.. and a lot of pondering in between her thoughts. A little hard to listen to (much harder I guess if you hadn't seen her face while she's talking)
I have one question, does the production tells you what to wear? Or what type of clothes? It seems always to be bright colours and Unicolour dresses for the ladies on the show
We answered this on our last episode!
I think they said that they were responsible for all their looks, no input from production.
@@vanessahobbes3072 yea but I was wondering specifically if they suggest them dress colours or the type of dresses (which always seems to be sexy for the unveil moment and unicolor dresses for the reunion)
It is really disappointing that the public doesn't get to see all of the engaged couples. Wendi seems cool. JP is cute and seems very genuine. I think emotionally it would be a huge let-down CRASH for the participants who are cut-off too. And also it seems that the show should give the couples who are abandoned a few paid-for counseling sessions, and also $30,000 fund to get married. And the money should be good and ready to go for 2 years......but only to be used for a wedding. If no wedding, no money. (Not sure how much of that would be taxed, so that is why I said $30,000) I really think that even if the contestants know they could get cut before the honeymoon phase, psychologically it would be really hard.
her being an aerospace engineer was soooooo cool! omfg i thought that was just so cool omg. girl! i was like SHE GONNA FIND A HUBBY FO SURE!
People are too hard on her. She sounds like a REGULAR person being interviewed. People are talking about media training and how they expect XYZ from an aerospace engineer, but id LOVE to see them get interviewed with off the cuff questions and see how many uhs and ums and likes they would say. 🙄
(Also, i didnt know it was a stereotype of nerds to be well spoken, articulate and easy to talk to 🤔
When did the stereotype switch?)
💯 percent certain the show didn't want to follow 3 Asian Woman White Man couples... Seattle has a large Asian population and there would be nothing wrong with showcasing that. but they want to appeal to as many demos as possible
Loved JP… seems very genuine.
Ava gave a response saying JP pursued another engaged cast member and asked for second chance to be on the show (similar to what josh had). He was there at chelsea’s party! Was he trying to get chelsea, because it seemed things werent going well between her and kwame? That doesnt bode well for JP, if he is trying to steal someone that is engaged with a week or so left before the wedding.
Interesting. I was wondering about Ava’s take on this. Side note though, I don’t think him being at the party means he wanted Chelsea. It looked to me like a lot of cast members were there (including others not filmed).
Amber was at the Chelsea party too. I'm sure others from the pods were there too.
As for JP/Chelsea, Chelsea stopped seeing anyone but Kwame pretty early on. If JP claims that "there were tears" when JP/Chelsea ended their talks, then maybe those tears were his? ;)
@@reflectsonlife Amber, JP, Josh and Kendra were there on what we saw on camera. Didnt see any other pod cast member. It seemed amber was there to test paul, josh to test jackie and JP to test chelsea. Kwame said in twitter interview from April he was upset chelsea was talking to her ex during her party (assuming its JP). I am sure it was on camera but didnt make the final cut.
@@nader85021 thanks for the detailed explanation 👍 🙏
I’m a bit confused by this video, the first woman they interviewed was engaged to JP the second guy they interviewed?
No the two interviewed were not engaged to one another. I think the thumbnail shows them with their exes.
@@vanessahobbes3072 thanks got it!
Natali your skin is gorgeous! drop the skincare routine
Don't trust this guy. Seems like he wants to be on TV. Wendi is great though! She is so pretty too.
I respect y’all talking about the anxiety of what ifs.
I’m in the stage of my life I use what ifs as positive self reflection to help me shape my future.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
I have learned not to compare myself to my peers because no one talks about the sacrifices and compromises of marriage unless you’re in those privileged groups.
So I make myself happy at least once a ❤day.
As for my person….
Like I have to reopen my heart ❤
I have to acknowledge my optimism
I have to open myself to the risk of heart break
I have to define what I want and what I’m willing to compromise or commit too
I make baby step goals
I acknowledged I am a hopeless romantic 💘 and that is okay/ even though my reality has differed
I’m opening my options to different guys I may not have dated before
Out my comfort zone
Like this summer I’ve had some interesting dates 😂
So for the fall I’m changing my intentions
Well see how it goes
Even though I will admit updating the dating app profiles can be exhausting sometimes 😂
Deepti, since you have skills with being great under high stress and working towards helping people, have you ever wanted to work as a nurse or EMT??
Is it me or wendy did not make any sense? I had to skip her part and go straight to JP. Idk but she couldn’t express herself well and kept saying “like” to many times 😂 i couldn’t follow up with her story
It's a shame more questions weren't asked to JP. Something that baffled me was that JP said he wasn't financially prepared for a wedding etc in a months' time. However, even if LIB had followed their story and funded everything...what about the story after that? Was he financially prepared for marriage beyond that? It didn't seem so based on what he said so I can't help but question his motive for going on the show. :/
Why are y’all never in the same room anymore ?
JP seems like a genuine guy. Not the villian like some may seems. Thats really unfortunate that Ava dragged him down online.
Sending him support and love❤
Hmm am I the only one who senses that this guy doesn’t take enough accountability to sustain a relationship? I get it, he tries but I get the impression that he just doesn’t take ownership for what’s necessary in relationship. But yeah it sounds like the relationship ended for good reasons regardless
@Elaine Jensen You can have a different opinion. Not sure why you chose my comment to add it to
Oh I’m sorry. I had no intention of being contentious. Just thought it was an open discussion. Have a great day
Oh and also I responded because I appreciated your perspective and thought I would jump off on that
It’s so hard listening to JP and his lies 😪😂
Really love your podcast/videos. Really don't like the music at the very beginning - it just feels jarring =( Also, I have never heard it said/or discussed how many men/women are on the cast? ie 15 men - 15 women? or are there more than that chosen? Also I think it would be really interesting to see a show utilizing older people to find love - like widow, widowers, etc who naturally have a harder time finding a good partner later in life. Or perhaps using an older age group - like those who have prioritized their careers over finding love etc and now, at age 40 they are having a hard time finding quality dating/love prospects. This would be nice to see
I like JP, I think Ava jumped to conclusions & was being dramatic. Maybe JP dodged a bullet. There’s literally no need to stick to the show timeline when you’re not on the show.
They would’ve been crazy not to follow Shane story
Wendy is so pretty!!!
As a viewer, not having all the couples and other connections shown feels disingenuous. And makes me think the producers have more hands in the cookie jar than we think. it makes me question how much of what we see is cultivated by the production team. It's stops feeling real. This is from me watch all 5 season for the 1st time in the last 2 weeks.
What’s with the ‘ummm’ every second? It’s soo cringe
stop the zoom podcasts y’all are rich enough to fly to each other it’s hard to watch
Jp wasn’t attracted to her, just be honest.
When I see these comments it makes me wonder if people don’t find her attractive and project that onto him?
Being honest, i can see why they didnt make it further. Neither are clear communicators. JP seems a little problematic with a blaccent and toxic tendencies. For the most part (excluding jackie) the show has had leveleaded mature minded non toxic people who are great communicators. Both jp and wendy communicate in a way that brings on anxiety in who ever is listening.
I love you both but these kind of episodes do not give me podcast vibes when you guys aren’t filming together aka in the same room. I understand you both have a busy schedule, however, if it’s not possible to film maybe take a break? 🫶🏻 just a thought
We can’t film in the same room when doing a virtual interview anymore because it impacts the sound quality for our audio version (aka we need separate audio tracks)
I don't agree, I like this video. Thank you Deepti and Natalie ❤
yeah i disagree as well. sounds better like they said when its done this way. good job ladies keep doing you!!!❤
If you don’t like this format you can always skip it, instead of being an entitled passive aggressive mess on the internet. Maybe you should take a break from being lame AF
@@katp3015 LMFAO okay???? no one said I disliked it
I love Natalie’s point on Asian women! 🩷 100% agree and love that Natalie and Deepti came out on top.
