- WE ARE MOVING INTO AN RV AND GETTING RID OF IT ALL!!! We made the decision in 2017 to downsize our lives and gain the freedom to do travel the world full-time as a family. We didn’t know what we were in for, it is really hard to get rid of everything you own. There were many different stages of purging and at first we thought everything was going to be perfect and have its place, by the end we ended up throwing a lot away. When we were in the middle of the mess we couldn’t see the light but after the dust settled, we felt free and ready to embark on this new stage of our lives with a clear vision of experiences over things. The posting of this video is 2 years to the day when we moved into the RV and we wouldn’t change a thing. We are closer as a family and creating memories of a life time and don’t see a end to this lifestyle. If you have any questions about doing this feel free to holla at us. Hey you guys!!!
I lived on a 34ft RV for 2 years with my then boyfriend and my furchild Jack Russell....It was an older but awesomely cool vintage bus, a 1988 Safari Serengeti - in great shape inside and out with a shiny silver and blue aluminum, flat finish to the outside...I loved it! The vehicle tho, being the age it was, needed constant upgrading engine-wise...so, a couple of years of that, and not actually traveling around the country but living locally (jobs), in RV parks, etc. It started as a love for tiny living but also as a rebelling against our rent at the artist community we lived at going up on our rent by $500 a month, which was not helpful or even do-able at the time...So, ended up selling it and going back to 'normal(?) living, however still feeling like I needed that autonomy of 'RV/van life'.
Before the artist community I did own a house, the monthly cost was taking all I earned as a single person....anyway, sold all of my beautiful antiques, musical instruments, lots of stuff I had collected over 25 years and I found it difficult as I seem to have sentimental attachment to a lot of little things!!....but STILL I have a ton of stuff (clothes, jewelry I rarely wear, books I have read, vintage chachkis, arts & crafts supplies, etc) and I live in a tiny space!!! I am at the point of getting rid of even more stuff again.....I have an ebay store where I sell some vintage, collectible, jewelry, clothes, art, all kinds of stuff....just want to RE-focus my life at 55, and now am looking to take a cross country trip from the pacific NW, to KEY WEST BABY!!!!! LOVE that place (that's how I found you guys, I watch tons of keys videos, lol to keep me happy till then!!) and want to take my 125cc scooter on a trailer on the back of my van to keys and back! I hope to make it happen this fall....we shall see !!!
Oh yeah, I have an idea about getting rid of things! When we were selling stuff, I took photos of the more special items that I thought I was going to miss, and sometimes a photo with the people buying the art, or the outfit I bought in London, etc....

He's 12 yes old and I am getting rid of everything and the rest is going in storage 😬 I bought a Class C 28ft and I was feeling your pain in regards to ALL THE STUFF!!! I'm here in Alberta 🇨🇦 and I am excited to start this nomand journey. Going to travel to Yukon the Alaska first then who knows where we will go next. I am going to unschool my son as he has aspergers and is dyslexic and the school system just hasn't worked for him. Thank you for you inspiring channel. 👍

Storage unit???So you didn’t get rid of everything? My husband and I are doing the exact same thing.., bought a used 96 RV..diesel pusher… completely remodeled it! Threw away and sold everything we owned ( no storage unit 😉) and hitting the road in 2 weeks!
Yea I couldnt part with the kids stuff, and some road bikes and other stuff- so yep been paying for a 5x10 for 5 years now hmmm there had to be a better way!

Help? Just bought a rv. We will be full time come September we have a 2,000 mile move coming and we have a 3 and a 5 year old. How did you do car seats? We only have seat belts on our couch. Thinking of building a dinette and installing seat belts to that. What did you do?
