He said next boat!
I heard that also!
I thought Athena was a forever boat!
No Way a jeanneau 52 is his next projekt😊
Maybe he'll buy it in US, he's seeking American citizenship that'll require him to meet some residency requirements even though he's married to a American citizen.
It'll be a nice way of keeping channel going while staying in US. Coastal cruising has its charms but people get bored with it quickly, and he is a professional CZcamsr now so audiance retention matters.
Athena is a beautiful boat with lots of upgrades and very spiffy. I see it as Another rung on the ladder full of learning and developing your skills. This is just the beginning of your cruise life and discovering what you want in the future and what will be the next rung on the ladder. Look forward to following your adventures going forward.
Three guys food list for crossing the Atlantic:
1. Sixteen frozen pizzas
2. Twelve cases of beer
3. Eight packs of BBQ flavored Pork Rinds
Anything else is just details.
Case of beer per day per man. Minimum.
Don’t forget some Rum, Bourbon, and Tequila!
With that menu, make sure you also bring lots of wet wipes for the head.
Next boat??? Ahh now this is going to be very interesting!
I hope the new crew have been prewarned of the 'New Country Kiss' tradition aboard Athena - otherwise it might come as a bit of a shock.
Maybe test the wind vane out before you go….
Next boat? Much bigger!? Well, get ready for "more DIY fun"!
I was thinking a 90ft catamaran would be about the size needed for all of Mads stuff.
We all knew there would be a next boat.
I've been waiting for this!!!
Yeah, this sail malarkey gets boring quick!
@@ecleveland1 with that boat, he'll be the hero of the cruising community. He just needs to bring a stainless guy as a crew member and he'll be going around the world, saving cruisers in trouble... 🙂
I have been watching since the beginning and it's been awesome watching you bloom into who you are today brother ! Fair winds Athena and crew, God bless !⚓⛵
Wishing you safe and fun travels fellas. "That is the wrong question" comment was absolutely hilarious!
Lol “ next boat” … it’s an addiction. I really enjoyed this episode thanks Mads and Ava
One can never stray too far from the glorious task of sanding ….case in point in the near future! We’re all anxiously looking forward - Fair winds 🇨🇦😎
Ava, let this be a lesson to you: Next time you need Mads to close a task, all you have to do is invite his man-people over to admire his work.
Good luck on your crossing. Finished ours last week, 16 days 23 hours from Cabo Verde. We had 5 days of 5kts or less winds and finished with 4 days of 20-35kt winds. Swam with two Minke whales at our halfway point, had the auto pilot fail (no windvane) and the watermaker failed as well. Was a great trip can't think of anything negative, the failures were just challenges to adapt and overcome.
Hi there Mr Spiffy. Hay just want to say thanks. I live in a big 8.5-meter caravan and thanks to watching your videos I have brought Victron gear for it and fitting it out myself. I'm very impressed so far
For that door, i suggest you make the trim adjustable. Whenever you make the rigging proper, you'll change the frame, there's nothing you can do about that short of making a reinforcement beam or some pillars either side. But with adjustable trim, you won't be having that much issue to keep the door gap proper. This was also pretty common back in the day when houses were made completely out of wood and the structure would change slightly with moisture or earth movement.
Good luck with the crossing! Fair wind in your sails.
My prayers for your crossing, guys!
I’m missing Ava already, but I gotta say, her brother put a smile on my face. 😎
Congratulations on finishing the last tasks for the Atlantic crossing. Very exciting indeed. Best of luck. Be safe.
I would love to have those Post-Its frome the Done-Section. In a picture frame they would make a nice piece of art (for an fan boy at least :) Fair winds!
Good Luck!
Good luck on the crossing.
You are so ready, Mads. I'm very excited for you. Have a great sail.
First time I was the first comment! YA! Be Safe Mads on the crossing..... see you in North America!
Good luck on the crossing x
I'm keeping you guys in my prayers! Stay strong!

Happy sailing!
What a ride it has been and what a lesson in what determination and following your dream can get you to... From picking Athena up in Scotland, years of refitting, finding your wife in between and now finally doing that Atlantic crossing. My hats of to you Mads and thank you for all the years we have been able to tag along for the ride, its been amazing. Cant wait to see you guys do the Caribbean!
A contrast to the first 'Glorious' videos: every task now flies by in a blink. Kudos to a marvelous handyman.
Cant wait to see videos of your crossing the Atlantic. All that hard work, for years & not 2 forget the " O,Glorious sanding hours" . Congratulations & wishing you the very best of wind, following seas & a very pleasant Crossing Mads. Cheers !!!

Hi , were awaiting your off and thank both for the trip so far , fair winds and hope all goes well .😉❤👍👍👍
If the forecast wind is coming from a favorable direction I would go for it. Have fun and good luck.
Blessings for a safe crossing.
Ava is the smartest one not aboard! 😆
safe sail across and thanks for the update. take care and i will see you on next Sunday video
Good on you all. 🍻Looks like you are almost finished buttoning up the last few bits and pieces.
Beam to aft winds and following seas, hope you have a rocket ride to the next destination.
Bon Voyage Madds and crew. Lots of work completed to get going. Cheers!
We use just one block & tackle unit connected to the end of the boom with a snap shackle at the top and bottom and simply unsnap it from one side or the other of the cockpit.as needed.
It has enough purchase to use as a mainsheet alone when close-hauled and we can even tack without unsnapping it if needed. It even works sort of like a traveller and a vang all in one when used in conjunction with the primary mainsheet. We can connect to the high or low side depending on sailing conditions.
It also works well for motorsailing for a flat riding sail as close to 5-degrees off of the wind when we pull it taught to the high side
Have a good journey to other side of the athlantic. good luck
Happy with the "Next boat" announcement! Life is Good!
Hi Mads, well done with all the prep work for the crossing. I hope all goes well for you and your crew and I will be looking out for your updates as the weeks go by. Cheer Ian - New Zealand

Godspeed!
Great stuff guys
Let's start the passage
Yeha
I hope the berth in the saloon has a lee cloth too. I guess there's a spiffy one hidden away, but I don't recollect the episode! Wishing Mads and crew a safe crossing.
You are correct, they made one fir that location a while back 👍
Would love a video where you discuss possibilities for your next boat.
Let us know if it was worth it painting the wind vane with copper coat. I would just have been happy to wipe it clean every once in a while.
Mads you do have a thing with door handles and closers .😊😊oh well there is always masking tape .😊😊😊
Safe Travels Mads!
There's FIVE Ikea's in the Canary Islands....what the what!!!
Good luck and fair winds, Mads & Crew!!
Safe trip
Safe journeys
See you👍🏽
Wait what? Sleeping on the floor?
He thinks he's Michael Jackson.
Bon voyage 👋
Love seeing the Haribo gummies in the shopping cart. 🙂
I heard on the next boat.
Can't wait
Mt. Teide is 3715 mts. high (12190 ft.), I know it by heart ‘cause I was born in the CI and had to study it when I was a little boy.
Thanks for the video! For locking the boom, wouldn't a preventer be an easier solution?
Given the video lag.... and hoping not too early.....
Welcome to the Americas! :)
The very best of luck with the crossing ..... any spare berths!?
Next boat? More DIY fun!
Safe passage.
Real time update: Athena is in Mindelo (Cape Verde Islands)
"For the next boat"
Excitement increases.
Generally, you don't sleep in the forward cabin at sea unless the sea state is very calm. Too much motion. But I will be interested to hear how that works out.
Fair winds Mads and crew....
Next boat? Hopefully with a somewhat extensive refit. 😆
The time is here. May your seas be peaceful calm and to your favor. You said,The next Boat? You both now have so much into to this. Time too explore and to learn. You mastered the art of boat building with a Doctorate degree. Now Next chapter. Man and woman alone on a boat sailing the world. Live , Love each other and explore. We look forward to your journeys. Oh yes no nude videos when you cross the equator. Good Luck. You have a ready yacht and a great crew.
Nice Playero shirt!!! Was he in Puerto Rico?
damn, once the last little bit of cosmetics are done you might get an offer from Apple to brand Athena as the iboat... impressive job, but now its about time to sail the damn thing across the pond.
greets from Germany & fair winds!
Wh-what?? Next boat? What about the dream?!?!?
Next boat ⛵️ 😮 what dare you after putting all love on Athena
NEXT BOAT!!!???
oh hai, Julian 😍😍😍
