    That was a lovely job. I learned how to sew at school on one of those types of machines. Nearly 50 years later I’ve taken sewing up again. My machine is a a tad more modern now lol

    • @blackangel2412
      @blackangel2412 Před 4 lety +1

      I see it exactly like you. It looks worse than before. he destroyed the whole character of the machine. the paintwork is just bad and the colors don't work. The wrong screws are used so that the hinges bend and parts of the machine are painted that are not originally painted. one can only say, probably sufficient for asians. that's everything else, but definitely not a restoration, rather a destruction.

    Overall pretty good work. However, I wouldn't necessarily call this a "restoration" as the wood has been painted and not restored properly. As a seamstress, I wouldn't want to use a machine that had a painted table because I'm not sure the paint wouldn't transfer to what I was sewing or otherwise become damaged by pins, etc. When dealing with wood items, it's generally best to refinish them how they were originally done. In this case, stained and sealed rather than painted.
    If you can take the time to watch some of TysyTube and My Mechanics, they sand the metal pieces quite a bit more so the metal pieces are more smooth and restored to almost factory perfect condition.
    I think you did a very good job, though.

    And part 2 shows a antique sewing machine that works again. Hope someone is getting some real use out of it now. Job well done all around. It is a good machine for a young girl to learn on. I have two electric sewing machines. One is a portable White with a lever to change stitch styles with a push of a lever. The other is my grandmothers Singer in a cabinet with a knee lever to give it power. I use it more than I do the newer portable which has a foot peddle for powering it and it weighs a ton, (all metal rather than the largely plastic ones of today), and it is a pain to take out of the case and lug it to a table. I still sew some, but it tends to be small projects. Made a man's suit jacket, vest and matching tie once.

Quebrou peça e não substituiu, pintou a tampa com o tensor que só vai descolar com solvente pra ajustar a tensão da linha de baixo... a máquina tinha como abaixar os dentinhos pra cerzir e bordar, não vai ter mais... tanta coisa que vc só ia ver no uso depois.

      @lllpatricklll1 Před 3 lety

      Sinco seems to be a Singer clone. These old sewing machines were a technological marvel of their time. The fact that so many are still around and working gives testament to that. Sadly most have little value. I found a treddle machine in very good condition and the owner was somewhat disappointed when I told him that the machines greatest value was that it should remain a wonderful decoration in his beautiful home.

      IE Singer made billions of machines built to last forever, but girls no longer learn to sew. so you can get them cheap. So many countries are still making 15 clones.
