- In this video I'll share how I edit cinematic colors for videos, mainly reels and tiktoks, on the capcut app. We talk about color grading using graphs / curves, as well as how to use LUTs with Capcut on the desktop version. Best thing, the software is completely free.

If I am not wrong, pc version has color wheels or something like that.
@@Caviar_Khaboand also alot more codec and even have hdr on phone version only have avc codec and worse video export quality 😂

I personally like the HSL version better because of the less purple and more teal shade of blues.
HSL only controls the you already have in your footage, the colour grade tool is being used because there you can colours in your footage.

For DSLR videos do you use capcut desktop, or a more advanced editor ?
I use premiere pro out of habit. Lumetri color is pretty much exactly the same as capcut tho.

In the beginning you are showing the color squares, I was expecting a gradient map edit, what is the relation between the squares and the curve edit?

Sorry, this is probably a dumb question - do the LUTs you sell with work in Capcut desktop? Or just Premiere?

Just started using Capcut both the smartphone and desktop version for a few weeks now.
The thing that I've notice is that somehow the quality of the mp4 file is quite bad when comparing with the original.
The size is significantly smaller but at same resolution, the video looks bad. Not sure if it's me or what.
How to save my own LUTs?

is there a way to color grade specific parts of the video by masking it ? like in premiere pro when u color grade skin tones or just the sky.. without applying the whole color grade to the whole video instead?
I think the HSL way will help with that
This is late but, you can use overlay for this. Just duplicate the clip then remove bg. So basically you select the part you want to color grade differently. Can be vise versa tho.

Great video but how do you get such a high quality on your tiktoks? When I post a tiktok it gets highly compressed and looks bad
Render at 1080p should stop compression problems
@@teemu.mp4 It is not helping sadly. I think you get better quality because you get a lot of views. There are lots of people trying to achieve the same quality as yours but tiktok compresses their videos
What are your thoughts about davinci resolve's color grading??
No experience, although I intend to learn it soon as everyone thinks it's the best.

Hello. What can be done about drastic light fluctuations that happened while filming? It happened often enough that rolling through the entire production and adjusting gradually and piecemeal every couple of frames might be very tedious and not even worth the effort what with flitting in and out changes that editing would make for, etc. It would turn out looking "glitchy" like this...in my opinion. UNLESS somebody here could kindly tell me of a possible way to have an editing choice that includes self adjustment AFTER the fact. Fingers crossed. Please help. Thanks.
this is the kinda thing you really gotta manage when recording, otherwise it's gonna take forever to do manually in post
