Mark’s voice was perfect for this classic song! Whole band is great; very talented musicians.
Tull was my favorite band in high school school and into college. Saw the band three times and would have to say for my taste they were the best live show going and I saw a bunch of the great arena acts.
Outstanding!!!
Well done!
damn good stuff here...these guys are great entertainers!
Sure am glad I found you guys!
Excellent!!
Rockin! Much Talent....
Good job ! need more of a Jethro attitude more attitude with it coming from his heart.
Nice lead.
Wow.
Not an easy song to duplicate.
You nailed it!!
Wow ! Excellent job !
Super impressed. Hesitant to favour one over the others, as you were all great, but, the vocalist really had Ian's tone down. Totally enjoyed this performance.
Thanks friend. JT and Ian Anderson in particular were at the top of my favorites list back in the 70’s
Never seen a band cover Tull
Outstanding for a garage band like we had back in the mid 60’s early 70’s, all are talented. The drummer is smooth, I like that you played with your own expression. Good luck keep ‘em coming.
I have not found many covers of this great song ,you guys hit it out of the park ! Thanks for sharing a great song and your amazing talent with us ! Keep Rockin.
PERFECT! Excellent! STUNNINGLY GREAT! I saw Jethro Tull when this album was released in 1971 at the Alexandria roller rink. The opening band was Yes. It was an absolutely amazing show! We were all very lucky. THANKS!
Wow dude, Jethro Tull on the Aqualung tour and Yes on the Fragile tour you're a lucky man, what a show that must have been! '71 imo was THEE greatest year in classic rock and if time machines become a thing before I die that's where I'm going, Aqualung, Fragile, Machine Head, Master of Reality and on and on wow
I saw them in Wildwood NJ. at the boardwalk Convention Hall July 1971. Yes also opened that show and I’ve learned it was their first American appearance. They were promoting the brand new Yes album. Tony Kaye was on keys then. Fragile had not been released at this time. Starship Trooper was the pinacles of that very memorable show!
Simply brilliant!!!!!!
Are you kidding me? This is proffesional grade here!
Fantastic job boys!!! You nailed it and Ian and his boys would be proud!!!
This song was playing in my head all day!
World's greatest neighborhood band!
wow. such a hard tune. Great job!!!
Loved it! Another great song the guys pulled together in 2010.
OUTSTANDING!! 👍 I'd love to hear their version of Teacher.
Thanks Bro
@@djorlando57 You are welcome!
From humble beginnings these players and many others that joined in along the way gaining popularity until the COVID Pandemic shut things down in 2019.
I have been enjoying the music produced by this band right up to 2019, I am amazed at the professional quality that they put out there time after time! BRAVO !!
You guys are quite good! And that doesn't come from me often! Nailed this one too!
Incredible. You nailed the vocals.
There was absolutely well done, musically and singing.
SUPER, I love this song so much, and you do it so well. THANKS. / Freddie the Swede.
Picnic at my house then weekend!! You guys are good!! Enjoyed it.
Killer cover guys great sound.
You guys never stop impressing me wow, that was amazing!
You know Jimmy walked by and gave Martin Barre the thumbs up as he jammed this solo. They were in the same studio...Jimmy magic
You guys did a great job with this. And all the vids I've seen so far. And the concept is fantastic. I only wish I had thought of it. Keep up the wonderful work and post this years picnic as soon as you get it.
You guys rock!
Wherever they play these videos seems to be where there is a lot of nature surrounding the venue!!
They have an amazing collection of amps and guitars. They all are former band members of different bands I wager!
Fantastic job guys!!!
That was awesome guys.... 😎
OMG I need this band for my town fest!!!
You guys are great... I wanna join!
They are so good! I would pay money to watch/hear
I have been watching many of these guys' videos, I think this might be one of the first.
No back wall to the enclosure.
It appears to have been made that way, a curtain suffices for a backdrop to the group.
I actually have been able to find videos from them back as far as 2008.
What? 10 years ago? I hate that I only know you guys now. Ha. Really enjoy you guys! ☺
Groovy man!😎
Very well done ✅
quite excellent
Great band all around.
Bravo...!
Nice Job! Great licks! You guys are Alright!
Bravo! Not an easy song to nail done, oh yea..!
Bravo!
Nailed it!
That’s fantastic. A few off keys but super fun to listen to. Wish I was there dancing. Great tone for the lead guitar
Agree. A little loose in parts but by no means an easy song to cover. Could listen to these guys all day.
Nice Job!
Kudos to the bass player.
This is one of my favorite songs and OMG you guys are AMAZING!!! It is May 28, 2023. You made a 69 yr old lady escape to better, younger days. At least in my mind! Thank you!
"Keep on Rockin' in The Free World," Suzie!
@@g.m.pinnere7561 I'll be rockin' longer than the world is free! (I'm in Florida, aka "The canary in the coal mine").
I'm a fan :) how about a version of Soul Sacrifice?
The things you discover on CZcams! Marshall Tucker covers Jethro Tull!
I had an early 70's P (natural) bass. Obviously I have sellers remorse.
Still have my 74 walnut P-Bass ..my daughter warns me not to sell it!!
Good job, boys. Ian Anderson would be proud.
Muy buena. Buen solo de Martín barre
WHO DOES THIS KIND OF STUFF !1 TAKE A BOW BOYS !
Im have been appreciating these great performances on Ytube and noticed the line up of the band seems to vary. Is the Neighborhood Band an actual band or is it the venue. Just curious. Anyone know?
Hi Steve, thanks for watching. The Neighborhood Picnic Band as we are called now, is not a band but a once a year gig involving 10-15 lifelong friends(and a few of our children) who grew up together in Glenview Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago. We've been doing this since 2006. I'll be uploading the 2023 picnic next week. We each pick 3 new songs in March and figure out who does what on each tune. Half the guys live around the country, and we only rehearse together the day before the gig. Never to play these songs together again. It's a one shot deal, new songs every year. 2023 videos will be our last as there will be no more picnic gigs due to personnel changes and the fact that it's a lot of work for just one gig, especially at our age. When we started this in 2006 we would have never thought we we still be doing it in 2023. Videos only from 2010-2019 and 22-23. Over 400 videos. We were blessed to have so much talent and such great guys in our Neighborhood... Dan
I’m impressed Very well done 👍🏻
go's to show you don't have to have long hair or any hair to be a great musician! Impressive!!
Not an easy song to cover by no means. The drummer covers Barrimore Barlow to the T.
Very Nice! must have taken a lot of practice.
In which town and state is this venue?
Wheeling Illinois! A northwest suburb of Chicago.
I'm sure guys are all band veterans. Good, good, good.
True.
Holy crap the keyboardist freaked me for a second around 1:40
Are you guys still playing?
2023 videos should be available soon
Ron Jeremey has a good voice
Ha! Ha! That's funny
I get that alot. But the resemblance ends when I disrobe.
@@MarkBaker56 haha great response and thanks, no disrespect really enjoyed it
@@mentalmickey1459 I take no offense to that. You can call me Hedgehog
