Why You Should Play Nier Automata

- Nier Automata is a meaningful game in many ways from its history and backstory bringing the Drakengard series to a larger audience as well as saving Platinum Games from bankruptcy to the game itself. The gameplay is smooth and the writing thoughtful, if you can handle some design elements that are (purposefully) a little obtuse Nier Automata will be a highly worthwhile experience for any RPG fan.
Now how many different ways did I pronounce Automata in this video? At least three I think. - Hry
Hearing you vacillate between "Automata" and "Automata" was very fun.
I considered redoing the audio to make it consistent and then decided against it

Thank you! There is not much of a chance of a theme or story analysis. While I do character analysis videos from time to time I've never gone beyond that. If more people show interest in the future though maybe it's something I could explore
It's a bummer to hear that the PC port is disappointing. PH3 has definitely spoiled me with all their excellent work on Falcom's titles, so I have to keep my expectations in check with other developers now.
I wish that more companies gave their ports priority but it's really not at the forefront for a lot of groups. It's also unfortunate for Square Enix because they have some good PC ports.
Square typically doesn't have good software engineers. Their pc ports are spotty for port quality. PH3 at Falcon is a wizard. Helps that he is passionate about Falcom's work and every port of a labor of love.
That said, the 2021 update to Nier actually does fix most things. I actually played most of this game on the stream deck and that ran very nicely.
I played both automata and replicant on PC and one of the two were significantly better (forgot which one, I think it was replicant but not sure) but with mods, both worked in the end - it's not unplayable, it's just inconvenient
Honestly, I'm not interested.
Mainly beacuse I only have the pc to rely on.
And the other reason... This game creeps me out.
It reminds of Drakengard 3, And even though I didn't play that game, I know how messed up that game is.

Not every game is for every person and that's okay. I don't know too much about Drakengard 3 so I can't say how similar it is, but I understand.
