Emma Lou, this video was/is inspiring. You showed me ways that I can think out-of-the-box and trim the die cuts into different designs for card making. Also, what paper tape (brand name) did you use when running the dies through the machine? Thank you.

Hello from Texas. I love watching your demos but I seem to always be too late for catching it ‘live’ (making asking questions a bit difficult 🤦🏻‍♀️). However, I’m going to ask anyway. Perhaps someone will be able to point me to the answer. This was the second or third time that you’ve mentioned ‘partial die cutting’ without actually showing how it’s done. Perhaps I’m the only one confused but it would help me if I could actually see the whole process of this partial cutting on the die cutting machine, rather than just showing an example of one that’s ‘already done’. I’m not sure why this has been so difficult for me to catch on to this technique but if I’m going to get the most use of these slimline dies, I’m going to have to figure it out soon. I love the apparent versatility of these dies, as well as the lovely die cut sentiments. I can’t wait to receive mine! 🤗. Thank you for all of the inspirational ideas; so helpful when I need to get my crafty mojo going.😊

Basically, partial die cutting is only cutting part of a die. For example, if you have a 7 inch die, you only roll 4 inches of the die through your machine instead of the entire 7 inch length of the die. She shows a little of this at the 23:00 mark of the video. You can find several technique videos if you search partial die cutting on CZcams.

@@sewgoodall thank you for your reply. I did rewatch the video and saw enough to understand the concept. I have tried to do it on my electronic die cutting machine but didn’t quite get it right. I’m going to try it on my Big Shot tomorrow.
