You’re the friends who shreds and says they aren’t that good. We all know you are better than any average surfer but you’re humble about it.
Ben, as someone who's been surfing for 57 years now, I think your great contribution is celebrating the joy of surfing even the tiniest, crappiest conditions. All of the focus has been on big and perfect, which leaves people jaded and whiny when conditions are "just" fun and average. I have so many friends who have been ruined from traveling. I love all conditions. And I love riding any board ... even if it were a front door. I live right at the beach in northern Oregon, and when I look at junky surf, I always tell myself, "Gravy would go!" And then I get my ass out there and have a great time.
Couldn't agree more. I love Bens content because it's the closest to reality that I have found. I dig the big channels like JOB, Nate Florence, Smith Bros, Koa Rothman, etc but there is nothing like watching Ben come out of 2ft sloppy El Slammo w a huge smile on his face 🙌🤙

In defense of the “big and perfect” surf conditions we see being so intensely broadcasted, it’s because it’s fun to watch. It’s something many of us don’t see often, so it’s a joy to get to see it online.

I can assure you it’s very unproductive, and being forced outta the water due to (anything really) injury leads to depression. Get strong quick, back in the waves, and stay happy! 💪🤙🤙🤙
I met a friend from Australia in Italy. When i told him i surf in New Jersey i was shocked when he asked if I'd ever seen your videos. I was proud to be able to tell him I've been out for a couple sessions when you were out too, years ago. You truly have become mr worldwide. Here's hoping for big waves and big ben back out there around absecon island this fall.

I think its the relatable aspect to it and your back stories, I like the fact that Jordan's a big part of it too and some of your mates who are just regular blokes are such a laugh too. The bald geezer a couple of years back used to be hilarious. You're up there with the likes of Koa and his mates on the North shore in terms of comedy and not taking yourself too seriously. Kelly sold his pool after he launched it live. So he probably doesn’t have to much say, but he still has unlimited access and pull so you probably will see one at some point in FL
There was an attempt but something about the water table being too high caused them to pull the plug
The crazy thing is you can do what you love and share the stoke and the psych and make a living doing it. Who'dathunkit? Because it's real. You got me looking for any boat wake I can get on in my kayak.
