Not always. Scotty Thurman was a star player on the Arkansas basketball team that hit the game winning 3 pointer against Duke in The 94 ncaa basketball championship game. He was projected to be drafted in 1st round and didnât get drafted at all and then got cut after the nba preseason and played overseas instead.

Charlie ward won the heisman trophy and led Florida state to a national championship and wasnât drafted in the 1994 NFL draft. He ended getting drafted by the Knicks in the 1st round that year instead.

But Spencer will get drafted in episode 13 right after Jordan and Layla wedding it happens he gets the call he was drafted by the New York bobcats formally known as the New York giants

It bugs me because in the show, Spencerâs a Heisman finalist who took his team to the chip, made the game winning catch in dramatic fashion, and throughout the entire draft process was considered to be a top 5 pick. Draft slides happen in real life, but realistically not to THAT extent. Unless you do something incredibly idiotic days before, like getting a DUI or arrested, but in the show heâs also a model citizen. They kinda just BSâd this for dramatic effect. Even Wade Waters, who did have that checkered past, ended up getting drafted in the first. I know itâs a show and all but things like this just donât happen irl.

Itâs not the end of the world not getting drafted. Just because a player gets drafted doesnât mean they made the team. They still have to make it through summer training and the preseason before they officially make the roster. Many players have gotten drafted and were cut before season even started and ended up never making the league. Also there are many players that are picked at the top of the draft and became draft busts. Some guys have been picked bottom of the draft or not drafted at all and went on to have a great career.
