You can access the SmartThings from notifications menu, no need to search for app.

Smart tag should have also included a LED light to blink. It would give a visual of the device in the dark and noisy environment. It would be also useful for those with hearing problems.

this is why modern-day tech engineering should be created by grade schoolers and not PHD,S.
i made another comment for this video regarding this tag.. that it would be helpful if the developers added a function on the app which allowed it to use the microphones on the phone to detect the sound of the tag.. and it could even use smart features to triangulate the position of the tag in relation to the screen using a kind of compass displayed on the screen. And the tage could communicate with smart signal that differentiates it with the app from other sounds in the environment. This would be helpful to deaf and hard of hearing people and also for people that don't want to not disturb others with loud sounds (the sound eminating from the tag can be at the highest frequencies it can emit.. which are hard for humans to hear.

There is one functionality that should be added and it is that the tag or phone should notify if both are getting far from each othe. Similar to the Spen and the Note

I was about to ask the same. Does this one have this feature? To ring (phone & tag) if tag and phone were far away apart?
You'd have to turn that feature on and off constantly. Every time you walk away from your keys on the hook/table (where you normally keep them) you'd get an alert. Every time you leave your backpack in your locker... Alert. Leave your wallet/purse in your room and go in the yard... Alert! Your family member walks the dog with the tracker on the collar attached... Alert.

Nice breakdown of features, but I'd like to know a lot more how the network connectivity works, and how functional it really is out in the world, and out of range of your local phone.
Basically it uses other Samsung phone network.
So happy samsung gave this free I'm ALWAYS looking for my keys like a mad woman. I'm going to purchase 1 this time and get some for my family.
On my s21ultra phantom black got to say it feels amazing, the screen resolution just looks better than the s20 ultra.
What about the rooms in smart home? Is that something to have in mind/or can it change room by itself later? And does it make finding other devices like buds easier?

I might be wrong, but I think they said during the stream that it's able to communicate with other Samsung devices in the area so give you a better pin point of where the smart tag is

Mine arrived today. One for my keys and one for my wifes keys. Works great so far. I also read that if you lose your keys in a park or whatever and realise when home and try to use the app to find them, even if you are out of bluetooth range any samsung phone user that passes the keys the location will be privately collected from their phone and passed to your samsung smarthings find app

I just got my S21 Ultra with the smart tag. I open the box at the retail store but I did not connect it to my phone (since the agent was trying to update the phone that time). I got home and when I try to connect it, it says that the smart tag belongs to someone else.. Tried to "hard reset" (removing the battery) but still it doesnt work...DuFQ!!
Hi. Can you use Bixby or google assistant to find your smartTag
it would be interesting if samsung set up the tag and the app to communicate with eachother using the highest frequency as an option.. and then using the phones two microphones to triangulte what direction the tag is in relation to the phone using a kind of compas display on the screen of the phone.. in that way.. it would take less electricity (the electricity to cause the tage to ring) and you could have more instantaneous direction where the tag is. This would also be helpful for deaf and hard of hearing people whom don't hear so well or whom don't have two funching ears to hear to do that same triangluating with their two ears listeningn for the sound and trying to figure out what direction the sound is coming from. Plus it would make less noise in public settings or even home settings.. it would just make it work more quietly.
Can't you have the tag as an alarm in case someone steal you mobile from your pocket ? For example to ring an alarm if the mobile goes 10 meters away from the tag

120 meters only. And Bluetooth has to be on. Lol useless piece of junk, best option is to throw it in the garbage.

Dose it locate ur bags on other city...what is the max range for it
it’s not just Bluetooth it uses it also uses the SmartThings network
like the Apple airtag (but this uses the find my network aswel as Bluetooth)

More realistic question shady girlfriends car obviously this isn't an actual GPS tracking device with an independent SIM card. So if she drives out of range you're screwed am I correct?

Can I link my tag to two different "locations" in the smart things app? I want one "location" setting shared with a friend (we have our cars tracked with the tags) and one with my father, and I want to share my cars location with him too but not my friends car. Any way how I can solve this?

question in order for it to find your phone would your phone have to have the location and Bluetooth on ?
Am I missing something, I can't see the point when the range is only 120m - If my dog runs away more than 120m, is this going to help? if Someone steals my wife's handbag, are they going to stay less than 120m away? Hi, I would like to use the tag the other way around. I would like the tag to alert me when my phone is far from me. So if i attach the tag to my keys, whenever my phone becomes far from my keys(supposetly on me), it will beep. For example, f you leave my phone on table at a restaurant, the minute you head to your car, the tag will alert you. Is that possible?

Hi there. My mother 85yrs old has been misplacing her keys lately. I purchased 2 tags and put 1 on her key ring and 1 on mine. I have a Samsumg A73 5G and it updates very regularly to the location of my keys. But, my mothers galaxy seems be only picking up other samsungs and not hers (samsung Galaxy A13), which is not as good as mine with regular updates. Is there something on her phone that needs to be turned on?

I thought I can hide this discreetly inside luggage while traveling. Should this be wrapped outside the luggage like how it is shown in this video?
I would have liked it more if these tags could only be reset through Samsung account. the problem is you can reset and disable it manually in a second.

I have it installed but it seems not be be able to show up where it is on the map. It just keeps saying updating...with no location
When trying to connect my brand new Samgung Galaxy smarttags I keep getting error code 00-002 on the smartthings app. It says it won't work without android 8.0 or higher but my phone currently has android 12; don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but what's the point in an app that's supposed to connect devices if it can't do that very thing. Also, to try to troubleshoot the issue I've tried resetting the smarttags and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, neither method fixed the issue.

Doesn't work if you have tagged two keyring together. It's not connecting but of you move the keyrings apart , then it works .This is my first bluetooth tag.I wonder this is happens with other brands or not .?

What if you are in a room with 5 users that have Samsung phone. When you press the button on the tracker to pair, will the pop notification appear on all 5 samsung phones at the same time?

I would be handy if Samsung had build SmartTag into the S21 ultra for example. Now you need to attach it. Creating more bulk. I think they will do that in the future.

There is one..it uses gps and a 3/4g sim its called a v-multi from trackisafe..only issue is battery only lasts 3 days!
GPS is a huge drain on batteries

Not sure you answer questions as this video is 8 months old but .... What I intend to use it for is backpacking. My intent is to leave it at camp for when I go for a walk. Sometimes it can be difficult to find camp again so I'd like to use it to help me find my camp. If there is no cell service I can probably assume the map will not work. Correct? Despite using BT to find and track I am thinking I'd have to wander around listening for the beeping. So in theory what I would use it for will not work. Correct?
Yeah it won't be reliable for such an occasion since it uses Bluetooth and also relies on other forms of connectivity.
your can with google maps download to your phone an selected map zone.. they you can locate a marked location(camp site). even with no data connection.. then only need GPS connection (but avoid GPS blind spots like in a deep valley etc)
