- EVERYONE should be talking about Elias Pettersson
#eliaspettersson #vancouvercanucks #nhl
Elias Pettersson has already taken his game to another level this season. Pettersson has shown that he is one of the top 5 best players in the NHL and that he could arguably be the best two way forward this season. He is a big reason as to why the Vancouver Canucks are a winning team once again. Pettersson is one of the most complete players in the NHL. He has a complete skill set and there is almost no weaknesses in his game. I think he has the potential to be the MVP of the NHL this season.

Who trained Elias Pettersson of The Vancouver Canucks, Wayne Gretzky? He moves like him, plays with the greatest of puck control, defensive play, skating ability and scoring touch like the Great One himself. A treasure to have a player like him. He needs the right nucleus of teammates to make it that much easier and exciting to score goals and set up plays. Elias Pettersson. The most excitng player to play for the Canucks since The Russian Rocket, Pavel Bure.
His chemistry is good with anyone
Yep
I think his points totals are pretty impressive considering he’s playing for the Canucks (I’m a Canucks fan).
I agree. I think the Canucks are going to have a winning season.
Canucks are going to win the cup!! Fuck it! Haha
@behonestwithyourself3718 let's not jinx anything. Loving it though, I'm down for whatever heights could be reached
@@theendoftheworld9921 I hope they win tonight
@@theendoftheworld9921 damn I know! I regretted it as soon as I posted it!
Pettersson is an Alien for a reason. He's not so big, and he falls easy, but he has experience playing tough matches, and whenever it starts to get tough Elias usually plays better because he puts a lot of high pressure on himself, that's usually when he starts to go into Mars mode, Quinn Hughes has a similar mode. What's so good with Elias Pettersson is that he brings confidence to his teammates, when he's passing the puck he tells his guys like "come an go, you can really score here", and they're like "really? Oh shit I could." In some parts he really is Gretzky like. With the team they have this season they have a really high chance making the playoffs.
He’s improved a lot this season on his strength. I think him and Jack Hughes are the best players in the NHL right now.
He is actually a very decent goalie as well. Hope Vancouver management just can get it's sh*t together.
I've been saying since he joined that mikheyev has the star power in him. He's all heart and soul on the ice, leaves it all out there
I think they're going to make the playoffs
What will give EP40 his longevity is his off the chart IQ
I agree
One fun fact is that Petterson has added a few pounds this year, and now you even see him put some really good open ice hits on guys. His anticipation plus the fact they players apparently don’t expect it from him has made that part of his game under rated. As he grows into a. bigger frame, he will be that much harder to play against.
The comment about Petey getting MVP is a bit of a reach. Maybe at some point, but he is not yet on the level of Kucherov or Mcdavid. No one is. Both those guys would need to be injured in order for that to be a possibility at all. The fact that he could be mentioned in the conversation at all is praise enough.
I agree
Make a video on franchise player Quinn Hughes. He’s playing like the best defenceman in the league right now.
I have a Quinn Hughes video. But I will make a new Hughes video soon.
@@MaiettaSportsMediaplease do. He’s on a different level this season
@@Sam-2468 I agree, he has been playing amazing.

Elias Pettersson is my favourite player
He is amazing
If the Canucks had failed again this year Pettersson would probably have walked, but it's pretty certain now that he will want to resign and probably take less money than he could get somewhere else just to keep this fantastic team together.
I agree
Amazing 2 way player
I’ve been talking about him since his first year in the nhl and no believed me when I said he would be this good. Also I’m a bruins fan 😂
He is the best 2 way forward in the NHL right now
If you saw him play back in 2016 it was obvious that he was gonna be a superstar.
Can I give you a thumbs up and a thumbs down? Bruins? I'll bet you live in Van.
@@henrytouwslager2420 I'm from Boston actually
Hes been amazing defensively this year but offensively he hasnt had it yet. Luckily for him Kuzmenko has found his game and Mikheyev brings a lot of life to the line. He has several more gears between what hes doing right now and how he played last year.
I think he’s only going to continue to get better as the season goes on. It’s amazing that he has 13 points in 8 games and he has so much room for improvement.
He's on pace for 133 points. 😎 😂 On a side note, whatever you are smoking you should share. 😅😂
Offensively he hasn't had it yet? Bro got 39 goals and 102 points last season and is on pace for more this year.
@@NguyenAnhVu10 i meant this year. He has been hesitant and honestly seems like he might be hurt. He's not on last years level offensively. I think he will get there and it's kind of crazy he's been producing at the rate he has without being 100%.
@@2pts the pace isn't the issue, if you watch the games lots of plays where he loses possession and lots of small mistakes that aren't characteristic for him. It's crazy how much he's produced without his A game tbh but he's got more to give for sure.
I don't know if it was "always obvious" he would be great. He had a questionable first couple years. But sure, showed signs of greatness here and there too. And has he proven to be a top 5 NHL player? He's near the top of the points rankings, but there's a few players that have underpreformed this year so far, but over the whole season, will likely climb up to the top. Can't really decide if he's a top 5 player until the season's over, IMO. I do really like him though, hope he can stay consistent and keep this pace up. Nice video!
That backhand at 05:20 is such an unexpected, difficult shot. He _is_ looking amazing in these clips. He might not be the #1 shot in the league, or puck handler, but near the top for both. I'd say he could be the best combination of the two.
i think hes finally found his consistent high level play
The Canucks haven’t always had the best team around him. But now the core group is playing well and Pettersson is leading the way.
@@austinm247 yep et
He's at least a top 5 center in my eyes, which honestly probably makes him a top 5 player overall. Over the past 2 seasons, he's 5th in points amongst centers, and amongst centers with over 100 points in that span, he's 3rd in +/- behind only MacKinnon and Zibanejad. Few players, especially of his age, combine points production and defensive responsibility as well as Petey, and he's clearly still got a lot of room to grow.
If I were to make a prediction, he probably manages to keep his points production up and hits well over 100 points again. The rate at which he's producing is actually lower than it should be considering the chances he's generating, meaning it's likely sustainable in the long term. If he can do it, he's definitely a top 5 player in the league
It was obvious even before he was drafted.
Oh if only we had Peterson in 2010
We should all give credits to Shorty 😊
Petey should win the mvp if the canucks place 2nd in the division and he plays like this.
I agree
Hat trick tonight for Petey.
Yessirrr
Yep 🧢
Yep 🙌🙌
I liked the video, Pettersson is an amazing player. You must be using that common core math as normal mathematics dictates that 37g + 78a = 115p. 🤷🏻♂️😂
Thank you for your support! Oh my bad, I just realised that 😂😂😂
Well, the season isn’t even 10% in but he is currently on pace for 133 points anyway. 👍😎
@@2pts yes exactly. I think he’s only going to continue to play better as the season goes on.
Not sure, but I thought I heard a collective groan when he was drafted. Most thought he was not a NHLer in the first place. Only a few people who saw him play before the draft really could see how good he really was. A report came out months before the draft and had said he could be the best player in the draft. I believed the hype. I did question whether or not a tall 150 some odd pound guy could make it. I would have to say the majority was disappointed we drafted him.To say most thought he would be a superstar is not true at all. Most thought he would be a flop. People have to reflect back at how they thought of drafting him. I truely believe most thought it was a wasted pick. Most people who voiced their opines here and elsewhere were very skeptical of this pick.
I think everyone has to be more patient and give prospects a chance to develop and improve.
For years we did not have a good developement program. I think we are doing well that way now. I see a bunch of guys in the AHL who can come in and the team will not miss a beat. At least five guys can come in in a pinch.@@MaiettaSportsMedia
If you actually saw him play in the 16/17 season and didn’t know he was gonna be a superstar you had to be either blind or just an idiot. If was that obvious. Had he been canadian and playing the way he did he definently would’ve been the #1 pick.
Cant believe those two empty net misses. He should have 5 or 6 goals by now
I think he will start scoring more soon

Ik I am
Looks like he went to the school of Datsyuk, EP kind of reminds of him, the way he plays
I agree
if he could skate as good as the magician, he would be a enigma.
He's not in Datsyuk's universe. Not even close to being at Bergeron's level.
Pettersson gives the puck away constantly and has only had 1 good season. He's proven nothing.
@@glennhankins6927 he said “reminds me of him” not “he’s just like Daystuk”
Why aren't we paying him (ignore the pfp, por que no los dos?)
What is that speech pattern my guy
I’m trying to improve on my voice
this comment cracked me up 🤣
basically he has written out his list of talking points to cut up and edit afterwards, but because it's basically just a list of different facts one after another, they begin to blend and become repetitive while recording and fall into a tone trap.
Might be helpful to write/read as if it were a conversation or at least expand upon what is being said so that it doesn't tone shift oddly. Some of it is due to most things said being short one-liners. Listening to sportscasters would probably help
@@flowmastaflam thanks for your feedback, I will do my best to improve
Its so sad hes in such a rubbish tean i will never get over how there was such a big drift with horvart and Miller who is a total bully . And Petterson is wasted there . ❤
Team i mean x
Have you been watching the Canucks this season? Miller is hardly a bully, but he leads on the ice by example. He’s a driver! Horvat was not, as the records shows. Personally, I like people who hold others accountable.
The Canucks are very good this season
There's no chance Pettersson wins a Selke in Vancouver. If he ends up in the US somewhere, absolutely. Expect him to win a Selke his first year in the USA. Kesler needed to score 40 goals at the tail end of the Dead Puck Era to win it. Vancouver has a reputation for bad defence, so it's unlikely anyone on this team would get consideration anytime soon.
this aged well
Yep. He got 3 goals yesterday
