I saw this a few days ago. It was mediocre at best. The stupid decisions made by the characters annoyed me so much. Who agrees to get in a tiny, uncovered boat for a journey to an unknown island, without water or food, a compass, a radio, life jackets - or telling anyone where they're going? Echoes of The Descent, a better film.
Great job on this review. I think i liked it better than some, i want to give it a 6 (upper 5s)... it's a 4.0 on imdb (if only based on like 600 reviews) which is pretty stinky. Most of the actresses did quite nicely and with a stronger script would have elevated the movie for sure. I did like the event involving the final character death, it was somewhat unexpected and moving IMO. Otherwise, yes, pretty predictable. (Glad i didn't watch the trailer, modern trailers make no bones about giving away 805 of the plot). Also, how about how bizarre (or downright brilliant and cunning?) the bullies in the opening were... Kayla filps them off, so they throw Meg down the stairs and attack her? Cuz it makes no sense, or cuz they really want to make Kayla feel guilty?) The actress playing Lizzie described the movie as Jaws vs. Bridesmaids. Ouch lol. A) not remotely accurate, and B) two blockbusters that are classics in thriller and comedy? Aspirational.. heh.
Jaws meets Bridesmaids? Pfft I don’t think so! 😂😂 You’re right there! I think the movie unfortunately was a victim of predictability which is a shame. I don’t blame the actresses at all, I agree they probably did the best they could given the material but the material was a stinker
I didn't think the UK had dangerous sharks on their shores? What kind of sharks are doing the attacking?? This sounds like another movie to wait for at the library.

This film is releasing June 21st over here in Ireland, I'm honestly not sure yet if I'll bother to go see it, but if I do, I will share my thoughts and I hope to get some enjoyment out of it
Went to see it this afternoon. I had some free time, a pack of my favourite snacks, and this was a film that required little investment and had a short runtime. Aaaaand it was kinda OK. Not a classic, not much real jeopardy, but it was ok for me. Probably a 2 star movie for me.
Are they still making these types of movie where you get stranded in the water or something and fooling with the sharks. I am going to assume they don't know the history of sharks. Im sure they haven't seen Jaws franchise or even Deep Blue Sea. At this point, might as well root for the sharks. How are you doing today?

Did u see the video of the very real shark attack in Egypt ... the poor young man's cries can be hear calling for his papa as the shark takes him after having taken his arms first
I saw it yesterday it started off strong and i was sitting there like yeah this is going to be good but as it continued it just became a bore fest you hardy see the shark and a lot of the movie is just the girls in the water arguing laughing then crying and then laughing again. It could of been so much better
Unfortunately I have to agree with you, which is a shame because if you think about it, they’re easy enough movies to make and could genuinely be creepy!
This movie was AWFUL. I had low expectations and this was somehow worse.
