  • How To Make Rubber Eggs 🥚 ages 3+ 🥚 Here’s a super fun science experiment you can do at home and all you need is a jar, a raw egg, vinegar and food coloring! 💥
    WHAT TO DO
👉 Start by placing a raw egg in a jar and covering it with vinegar. Then store the egg in the refrigerator for 3 days. Then rinse the egg gently under warm water and rub the remnants of the shell off to reveal the brightly colored egg. You’ll notice the egg can be gently squeezed without breaking and feels like a rubber egg! Finally try dropping the egg from a new inches up and notice how it bounces without breaking! So cool! Try dropping it from a few inches higher and see if it breaks. Once it gets to a certain height the egg will break and the raw egg with come out of the membrane.
    WHY THIS HAPPENS
👉 When you added vinegar to the raw egg, it caused a chemical reaction with the eggshell. Eggshells are made of calcium carbonate and the acid in the vinegar dissolved the calcium and the carbonate leaving just the membrane of the egg which is soft.
