Something that is also neat about Outbreak, though I wouldn't recommend solely relying on it for GMs, is that with Song of Flame buffing Solar and Kinetic weapons, you can actually use that weapon in any future season to stun Barriers and Unstoppable enemies because the scorch stacks go wild with the Nanites. You could just spam abilities to create ignitions, but if you have the opportunity to spam Outbreak for DPS you ought to try it out.
Khvostov + Indebted Kindness + Crux Termination is my go to loadout for Prismatic Warlock atm. It's pretty similar to this loadout but with Radiant Orbs instead of Anti-Barrier Pulse, and a Rocket Launcher for boss damage instead of a 3rd add clear weapon. I can't lie, Outbreak might be more effective due to Anti-Barrier Pulse Rifle but Khvostov is such a good and fun weapon and i hope we get a champ stun option for ARs next season.
I don't understand the hype, it's literally just an AR, I grinded for it and it was a waste of time, it's crap compared to other primaries, even legendaries

I swapped one thing from this loadout and it made it so much more fun. Instead of indebted kindness I use the trials sidearm with demolitionist/adrenaline junkie. Lots and lots of fun. Also offsets the slight nerf that devour/arc soul received.
It's the most common loadout rn because Liminality was in rotation twice within the same month, so there was an increase in people with the same loadout (which explains the machinegun heavy over rockets). It's still a great loadout in general.
I don't have a voltshot IK, so I usually use either my Aberrant Action with Incan/Heal Clip for easy content, or my voltshot Non-Denoument for slightly harder content. It'll work a lot better when I actually get a vsik.
i just found myself using it after i saw how good outbreak worked for barrier, after doing my 1rst gm with my old beloved graviton and suffering with it, i saw how good rocket sidearms where, i saw how good having voltshot on demand was, its such and easy turn brain off setup that doesn't penalize you for missing that its VERY ammo efficient, works in all clases and situations, its just that good, ofc it doesnt have the best dps but its mostly my go to for any nightfall rn, i dont usually do gms so for the easy ones works like a charm, having all that flexibility also lets you run any heavy you want, and at any point in time you can go back to the good ol reliable outbreak in case you run aout of ammo, it's just really basic but really good
Using a sword for champs/bosses works really well with ammo economy and the current seasonal mods, using bequest matching indebted kindness makes surge mods even better. DR from the amplified mod and song of flame covers survivabilty at higher content also.
Getaway artist but with slowva. The Call, Elsie's Rifle, Microcosm. You can create a tangle with melee then blow up enemies with The Call, Elsie's is a great pulse, and Micro can help get transcendence while also doing ad clear + respectable damage
Oh I've been using Outbreak since Destiny 1.. The gun is great but even better with more people using it.. I always have issues trying to get my friends to use it for some reason though..
People likely use machine guns over RLs/GLs as their ammo economy is better, and it feels like its better to have a crit option as your heavy in activities like GMs. They feel the most well-rounded of heavy weapons outside of DPS arenas. Also, you can use a darkness machine gun to top-up prismatic without burning all of your heavy ammo away.
I used those two weapons for a lot of gms but it got boring. I mix it up and use blast furnace w kinetic tremors and one for all or firefly depending on the gm. I also might just use elsie rifle and midnight coup w dragons breath. I spent a lot of time farming great brave arsenal weapons. Im sure going to use them. Recomb Mountain top i use whenever possible as well. Its easy to just use outbreak and indebted but it gets boring and theres lots of other great weapons i love and worked hard to get.
i would run this with no time to explain instead of outbreak + aberrant and faithkeeper for overcharge from artifiact hellion getaway or bleak watcher getaway both cook insanely hard. i would use hellion + bleak if feed the void wasn't so good outbreak is definitely better than ntte but i love having little turret buddies
havent run this specifically, I have run bad juju with Abberant Action and Apex Predator so similar-ish. I like the bad juju for ad clear more than outbreak for whatever reason. Solar synergeizes with my build much better due to artifact and prismatic perks. (This is all cope since I havent cleared the outbreak mission on legend, nor have I gotten an indebted kindness of any kind lol).
Sure indebted is more popular than all the rocket sidearms because it's been out for longer but the new solar one is better imo with heal clip/ incandescent you turn into more tanky warlock.
I farmed voltshot indebted kindness for so long until I got one, but I wasn’t impressed, I’m not gonna lie it’s nice but adagio felt better on it. It felt better for ammo economy and it hits like a truck.

I’m just gonna say that you suck for saying I should be using Indebted Kindness with Voltshot. I’ve been farming for a good roll on that gun for 2 months with 50+ clears and not a single Voltshot roll has dropped. I’ll be swapping in Aberrant Action because it’s crafted and better anyway.
I don't know why people don't let the new players know that Indebted Kindness is a badass gun but.... it isn't free in fact its doesn't even come with the expansion purchase. you have to buy a dungeon key to run the dungeon to get that gun so even if you buy the expansion one DOES NOT GET the dungeon access to get Indebted Kindness so Indebted Kindness isn't part of the game you have to pay money real money to get that gun. so its a great build and great vid btw but it shouldn't be a must if you have to pay to win to get that gun its not part of the game technically.
