- Spring is in the air! And it’s inspired me to bring out the pinks once again! I know, shocking, lol. I’m also working again with the Baohong watercolor paper and the Kuretake watercolors. I really hope you enjoy this one, because I’m very happy with how it turned out myself! 🌸 The golden cobblestones are a really nice touch. Perhaps it's because of the paper texture but the gold shimmering through (behind?) the pink looks georgeous 🥰
In real life it really is the texture that does all the work! It's pretty and I didn't expect it, as I'm not usually working with very textured paper 😊

I love the pink and red together! The flowers are so sweet. I have to admit that I am not a fan of the texture on this piece. I like either way you present - in real time or sped up. You do such beautiful work, I always look forward to each and every video! ❤
It's definitely different. And the problem with textured paper is, when I scan it, I have to do a lot of clean up. I'll definitely make sure to use the backside next time 😊🌸💕

The dots are very organic and I like them better than perfectly round. 🙂
Well, I'm used to them being round, it being the purpose of using the dotting tool. That said, it didn't bother me, it was just an interesting observation I had 😊

I really enjoyed watching this and made it happily all the way to the end. 🌸🌸🌸 I enjoyed watching it in real time speed, but I don't think you should put yourself through something you don't enjoy in order to do that, especially considering that we can speed up or slow down the video on CZcams as we choose. I think the cobblestones looked great. I did wonder why you didn't tape down the paper to prevent the curling, but I figured you had a reason.

Just found your channel. I'll be subscribing. Love your painting! Another watercolor painter on YT, Kristy Rice, recommends Baohong Academy. It's a student paper, but she says it's very nice to work on and it's smoother. I bought some but haven't tried it yet. ❤

I am curious as to why you remove the paper from the block before painting. Leaving it on the block would prevent curling. BTW, I love the colors you used today.
Because the idea was to use the backside, which I ended up not using, haha. Also I cut it down to a 6x9inch size
I really love your pieces, but one thing I would like to know, is how do you know when to stop? I find that I get so carried away with some pieces I fill every available space, but the ones where I have had more control, have definitely turned out better. I love the cobblestones by the way, I like doing them too. I also really like the lines you’ve added with coloured pencil, it just really gives it a more delicate feel. Thank you for your videos, I really look forward to seeing them.
Hi Sara! I had those exact questions when I first started. I was never a doodler before I started my CZcams channel. But once I found doodling, I really got into it and wanted to doodle everything! During that time I did a LOT of paintings with doodles, which helped me figure out which ones I enjoy most. And so now I just stick with those and embellish with other things as well. There is nothing wrong with doodling a lot! If that's what your brain wants to do and it helps with whatever kind of release you seek from doodling, then just keep doing that! And then maybe, once you get it out of your system, or if you want to try a style with less doodles in it, your brain will be able to stop at a good place and call it done. It's hard to explain, but I hope you can tell what I'm trying to say 😊💕❤️

Have yo ever tried the Micron PNs? You don’t have to worry about destroying the plastic nib on rough paper.

I just love pink. Always have. Can't help myself 😅. I really like your cobble stones in this piece 👍. Maybe next time you could shade them some more so they get more depth, but that's a up to you of course 😊. I really must try doing this myself. I have some Ecoline watercolour paper and also the Kuretake set. The only thing I would like to buy as well are the dotting tools you use. The next time I order something on Amazon I will add them to my shopping basket. I haven't seen them yet in a local shop here in the Netherlands.
Thank you! I was debating on whether to shade the cobblestone pattern, but ultimately decided against it, as they aren't the main focus. As far as the dotting tools go, I haven found the tiny ones in stores here in the US either. Amazon came to the rescue

🌸 this is really beautiful and I'm enjoying your videos a lot! I find them very relaxing to have on whilst I'm working on my own art, so thank you for taking the time. I know it can't be easy watching yourself back, and it takes a lot of time to edit etc. Just wanted you to know it's appreciated ❤ Also, have you heard about the refillable, reusable pens by Tom's Studio? I have no idea about shipping to your country but I purchased one so I could stop throwing finliners away, and also use my own choice of ink colours. You get a mix of fine liner tips so you would be able to use your favourite 005 with your own inks. I found Sketchinks really good as they are permanent and waterproof. They do a nice grey too! Might be a good option for you to research ❤
