@@mbahlawu8019 The logo looks almost the same..
I love how at 0:35 when he is telling about how companies compete at making most realistic game, there is that glitch with ariplane hatch :D
"The most realistic game of the year"
>While showing Just Cause 3 footage. Heh. It's a stunning game but anyone who has played it knows they laugh in the face of realism.
I was going to comment the same thing
GAAFTS Ryse: Son of Rome is probably the best looking game out there
GAAFTS the should have shown Order 1886 or Drive Club or Forza 7 or any
Realistic looking, not playing. Who wants a real life game?
its about the graphics.. not the physics and stuff
I don't need it
I don't need it...
I definitely don't need it....
I NEED IT!!!
yeah me too XD
I shed a tear from how excited I am to use this when my current project enters the materials phase. I'll be like a kid at a hybrid between a candy store and an arcade.
Those wood planks are DELICIOUS
0:32 "... The most realistic game of the year"...
- Plane door glitches.
hahahahahaha!
very realistic
Is he from BlenderGuru?
PonDiePie yep
Noo... he IS the BlenderGuru! (Yes he is XD)
Yeah he was like so familiar...
Yeah.
No he is IanHubert
It’s amazing how far Poliigon has developed!
I love this idea in concept, and it has alot of potential, but still needs to grow. And I realize the site is still 'new', but I have a few critiques. For good game textures, they should all be patterns. Having a brick texture is nice, but if it doesn't pattern, then it's almost pointless. And I would like to see alot more 'elements' and not just natural textures. Like high tech metal door textures, or divits/bolts, numeric pads, buttons, access panels, and other small elements that could be added to 3D models.
ALSO, I think it would be wise to allow 2 or 3 free downloads a day for free members. That way hobbyists can still use the site (more importantly CONTINUE to use the site), but serious designers could still start a membership for unlimited access.
And finally, I would have a section for contributors. Of course this might be down the road, but it would be great if texture artists could submit their own library of normal maps. They would have to go through a proofing process, but that could quickly expand the currently limited amount of textures.
Keep up the good work!
dude..., you are the man!!
way to go Andrew. as a fellow enthusiast, I appreciate your efforts bro. i wish all the best to you and your team.
All of these textures are amazing! I'm not a graphic designer or CG artist of any means, but as a consumer of this fine art it is easy to say this is the work of a professional. Well done!
30 days trial? Sounds like a monthly payment. Is there also the possibility to pay only for what I want to download? You know, for the hobbyists who need textures twice a year.
its just 17USD/month -_- why not?
it is indeed a fair price if you need textures every week or if you make money with your art, but if you need textures just ones or twice a year it would be cooler to pay for what you download. am I totally wrong?
No, you're correct.
The issue is back door artist like you and I are not the targets. Quite simply put a lot of places expect money from you even in a 3D artist field.
Why don't you just pay for one month and during that month (or during the free trial one) download all the textures you find interesting and that you might need in the future? Or you can create multiple accounts, I assume, with multiple e-mails. Not the most "honest" way of doing it, but broke and poor people always find their ways around...
I learned 3d modeling a year ago, stopped after a month because the textures were frustrating, yet I enjoyed every other part. This is gonna be nice as hell
My company is starting on Game Design and this is exactly what we needed.
Andrew, thank you once again for finding a need and filling it with something awesome. I agree with others below that there could be some improvements on paying for the service, but otherwise the site works well and there's so much good stuff. Thank you, mate!
You are doing great job for those who want materials and move on to another work ...thank you so much....
poliigon you blew me away. And thank you for opening my eyes, you made me understand what all these purple textures meant, I'm definitely gonna subscribe to you guys.
Wow just wow looks amazingly real and isn't that expensive either. 168$ for a year is pretty chill provided all the work is done for you. I am just amazed and thankful to you guys for creating these.
Must admit...this is the most beautiful commercial I've ever watched!!!
Andrew Price, you're incredible, you have special talent to ilusionate people, to go deeper in the theme, just like a brain glial cell, this are the best cells, cells that help other neurons to do things, thank you.
This is handsdown amazing, I really look forward to using this!!!!!
I am just starting to get to the moment in my renders where this stuff matters, thank you for making such an awesome tool
I usually tend to recommend this video to explain what are material and textures, so informational!
I just meet this channel and I already love it
Well played guys. Rest in peace textures.com D:
+Stuntkoala textures.com won't have problems to compete unless poliigon turns free... but thats obviously not the case
Minzkraut Yeah true but hey 30 days trial and every day 25 textures for download - hell yeah that will last some time ^^
+Stuntkoala Glad you like it :) However regarding the 25 texture downloads for trials, that's being dropped to 10 to prevent abuse.
Poliigon Yeah i noticed it. But thats still very nice and i really consider buying it after the trial :)
Poliigon
when someone downloads a texture in trial mode... can he keep it afterward and still use it in projects?
Thank you guys seriously I'm seriously proud of our community
Wow, every 3D artist needs this. Amazing
I get this really nice feeling when I see a product or service that will make my life easier. :)
Weary about the quality of images but I was sold almost instantly. Seamless sealed the deal and it was what I was waiting for. Good job guys!
My god those smears and fingerprints and dust look SICK!
wow, this is probably on of the most convincing ads I've ever seen!!!
Wow...that's simply amazing.Congrats guys.
Best texture website I've seen. Good job!!!
Looks great! Good luck with the project!
This is good insight , one thing to note is the process power to run the materials and light
Looks fabulous. Noted for future use, thanks.
This is inspiring! Great work and a brilliant explanation.
awesome stuff- better than expected!
Huge !! Can't wait to try this. Bravo !!!
Wow... I saw the Poliigon name on some big-deal thing somewhere, and thought "That sounds familiar", did a Google search, ended up watching this and thought "That voice sounds familiar..." I knew you'd started a texture service, but I didn't know it was doing so well - good on ya :)
Now, to learn enough that I have just cause to become a customer. :)
You are an amazing guy. Hell of a lot of work. I guarantee you're saving the asses of producers all over the world.
You have just made history! Great job! Now i'm going to get Cinema 4D and go wild!
This is brilliant! I haven't done CG in a decade and it's blowing my mind
Christopher McKenna google quixel.
Thats really awesome when i need it i will definitely come back to chrck this out
this is amazing, I'm all over this
Congratulations Andrew and hope you have a successful launch! This seems like a fantastic idea. Being a designer, I really like your logo, but for some reason it seems like I've seen it used somewhere before. Also, I follow you on Art Station and hope you haven't stopped drawing. You were really doing awesome work and making huge improvements in such a short time. Now that I think about it, focusing on this will probably actually make you more money anyway. You know what you're doing. LOL
+TheNordicHunter Thanks mate! As for the logo, it does indeed look similar to ArtStation and Substance, but supposedly the designer hadn't seen those before. So perhaps it's a coincidence? :P I dunno. Either way, we like it.
And yeah I still dabble in 2d for fun. But I'm focusing on 3d and texturing right now :)
THX waiting for something like this for years,
To make Minecraft look better
I would like to say superb! love all your sharing.
This will help me so much! Thanks a bunch!
Best site for textures, specially the new overlay maps. This is what i needed to give our client a high realistic imagery.
I'm so happy with my poliigon account. I am only just learning CGI, and I thought that it was not worth it for me as a total noob, but now that I am using proper textures I can see that I don't suck as much as I thought I did, I was just using amateur textures. Now I look at things I have made, and I wonder if it was really even me who made them. I am so pleased with the results I am getting, I did not think that after just 2 weeks of learning this stuff I would be able to make the things I do.
That is great to hear, David. We're glad to know your progress and you're enjoying Poliigon. :)
When you click on an ad for a product you won't use (because you don't create CG imagery) but don't care because it's still SUPER interesting.
dat Gamecube logo though..heh
The most underrated gaming system so I say "Props!"
ry ko Where doe?
Bitnami (www.bitnami.com) has the same blue hexagonal logo design.
OMG this is one of the best things out there
OMG. This is so amazing. I mean why wouldn't you need super nice and professional looking textures for Blender, Element 3D etc.
A simple product, very well introduced.
Not trying to put a downer on your product Andrew, this is an excellent product, but I would only be interested in
purchasing on a credit based system , aka pay as you go like with CGTextures. I use a lot of textures and normally make my own high res tiles n maps. But for convenience if this were on a pay as you go basis I would be happy to use this product on a regular basis... I hope you may consider adding this as an additional payment method sometime in the future.
+luke hayne We're actually moving to a credit based download system within a month. But pay as you go credits will come later.
This is awesome news, I am really glad you are adopting this flexible payment method. I would now consider increasing the web-sites bandwidth because I am going to be downloading like a trooper ;-)
Poliigon awesome product, but can i add one thing
8k is 32 MP since its (roughly) 8000x4000
4k is 4000 ish on the long edge. Full hd is sometimes refered to as 2k and 8k is 7680 long ;) just a small detail ;)
You are right, there is HD, UltraHD, Wide HD, and a number of other flavors. It is nice to have a selection of resolutions to fit the project you might be doing. Not everyone even needs 4k.

I have this product, and want to say it is incredibly easy to use and has very nice results. It is much easier then before, where I spent so much time getting maps ready, which I knew often wouldn't necessary be that great quality cause there are still a lot of maps that elude me. Like displacement maps for instance.
Really nice! You indeed catches the pain point
Nice work guys!
wooow! Really nice job!! I could imagine this super-helpful to some 3d artists
THIS IS AMAZING! HOWD I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS BEFORE WTFFF!?
Looks great, I want one.
Just a note- he mentions this BW map that can be used to control the reflective property (how reflective) the material is. Everything is actually equally reflective at 50% (except metal, which is 100% reflective), it's more roughness that you want when you think of turning reflection off. Instead, maybe invert and adjust the reflection (or specular) map so the white values mean more roughness instead of black means less reflection, if that's what a material comes with, and connect it to the roughness if you don't already have a rough map. I think he knows that now, but just for anyone watching.
Nice job Andrew
I like the name, I like the logo.
*I like where the future is headed.*
I'm not even a 3d artist and this still excited the crap out of me lol
Amazing this is so cool i love it, thank you very much Blender Guru
Awesome!
In love with poligon
OH MY GAWD IM GOING TO SAVE SO MUCH TIME WITH THIS AAAAA FINNALY :DDD
Quixel has done this texture library thing, plus that overlay has been used in cg for years its often called coating, but overall this is another great idea to make our lives easier, keep it up!
Nice looking!
You have me drooling 🤤
Incredible
I'm new to photorealism but i'm definitely subscribing to a poliigon membership as i think it would help alot. And also because i'd be supporting andrew :D
Good going! I've been following this project since it was called cg fort, gonna try it out now!
+Paddo Physics Yay! Glad to have a loyal follower on board :D

you are really such a great person
looks cool
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
This is soon AMAZING
I see this used everywhere. Good job, mateys!
+Sinbiant Thanks! Glad you like it :)
If this was free it would be mind blowing. BTW good work ive been really enjoying this 30 day trial acctualy
Why didn't I heard of that sooner? Seriously this site is what you want as a 3D artist. It is even unbareable hard to find even seamless textures but having all those maps included to them is crazy. It is the thing I always said to myself "You know, that is the service you need to pay for bigger projects" seriously there are websites that charge substancially more and only give you crappy images to work with, some even so bad that you ask yourself "Why don't I just photograph it myself" which is what I ended up doing most of the time when nothing was available.
big thanks for sharing this. I have a great game engine and assets like these would be fun to test in such an enviroment. :)
Great !!
Awesome....
you the best bro that's so amazing thank you very much
Andrew, amazing tutorials! Could you make a short tutorial how to use those overlay textures?
