    Lovely engine. I have a Wilesco roller but the seal on the back of the boiler where the glass is has gone and took it off and wonder how I solder it back on or does it push in the hole in the boiler?

    • @PortCharmers
      @PortCharmers Před rokem +1

      I have repaired this sort of situation for a fiend of a friend. I took the whole boiler out of the casing and then soldered it back together using a blow torch. Unfortunately, I haven't heard if they are actually running it and ow it holds up. If all else fails, Wilesco are also selling sprare parts.

    I have a black and silver model, but the rear wheels are bent... any idea how to fix???

    • @jonashellsborn7648
      @jonashellsborn7648 Před 4 lety +1

      Wheels bent or rear axle bent? The factory is still there, you can surely mail them. And they even have a YT channel, with a tiny amount of subscribers!
      If you can take wheels and axle apart, I would carefully bend/knock the axle straight on a vice. Rivets can be replaced with new ones, just drill them away.

    I don´t know why the WILESCO D365 is their best engine when it comes to smooth and extremely slow idling. Does you or someone els know why ´cos my engine is capable to do it too

  • @therestorationofdrwho1865

    Won't running it on that ground damage the wheels?

    • @AceEngineeringWorks
      @AceEngineeringWorks  Před 6 lety +4

      Unfortunately yes the wheels will get marked. Its either leave it on a shelf or play, I know what I'd rather do.

    • @AceEngineeringWorks
      @AceEngineeringWorks  Před 6 lety +2

      You could, or just put a couple of rubber bands around the wheels. The finish on the rims is not a perfect machined finish anyway. I expect that most folk would put up with some tyre damage.

    • @johannesburing2417
      @johannesburing2417 Před 2 lety

      I don´t use any stinking solid fuel anymore on every small scale steam engine I own : Methylated spirit or a little gas burner does it , and yes,the Wilesco engines run very smooth on this fuels after a good running in . My two big steam engines are really coal fired
