Hello
Nice.
Can you help me pls, do you have a link as to where i can buy an iphone xs logicboard and screen🤓
You are lying because i cannot turn my toaster into a monitor due to lack of an HDMI port
can you put a link for the Raspberry keyboard plz
"Glances over at my 120hrz phone"
Finally a budget high refresh rate monitor!
Yeah cool idea - thought of that too some months ago.
The problem is it has a rather big delay :(
but it depends on your hdmi capture card, if it support let say 1080p 120fps and then it good to go
Doesn’t hdmi have a cap on fps? At like 60
@@skilledscript2725 depends on the resolution of the content you want to display and the hdmi standard. Hdmi 2.1 can drive up to 4k 120hz

Actually, thats a really good idea to get more Value out of an expensive High res tablet.
yeah with 1000ms delay lol
480p tablet will immerse you to the content and make quality seamless
delays minimal with this method
any “expensive” high res tablet will have built in mirror methods with less delay than this lol
@@PhoneRepairGuru overlooked this: if it's expensive then sell it and get a bigger and better monitor 🤓

Don't forget to clean the drain pipe, better to soak a old cloth & squeeze at your bathroom drain or else you'll need a new monitor.

By "any device into a monitor" i thought he was gonna turn his keyboard into a monitor
Tbh this seems mainly practical for an old tablet, not smartphone.
And tbh, for the price, you could probably get an old PC on Facebook marketplace for less than

The problem with this trick is that it requires the soon to be monitor to support USB-Host mode (Commonly referred to OTG or On The Go) in order to tell the device you accept data input from the USB port instead of trying to output data. Simply having an OTG Adapter cable/dongle is not enough because if the phone/tablet doesn't have the hardware+software support for Host Mode, it wont do anything when the adapter is connected.
That being said I believe MANY if not most devices (save maybe the super cheapo ones) nowadays have Host mode support, but if you're trying to breathe new life into a super old phone or tablet It's going to be extremely hit or miss if it will have Host Mode Support.
That's what I was about to ask/mention.
OTG still isn't a given on tablets or smartphones and even less so on older or lower end hardware.
Using space desk is better , no need anything else
@@RioPutra_ Problem with Spacedesk is that the phone or tablet can not be the primary monitor.
It also doesn't have server software for anything other than Windows. Mac, Linux, RaspberryPi and other project boards can only be viewers (receivers).
This solution though can be used for anything with a HDMI port, provided the phone/tablet is OTG compatible.
my phone can use the OTG adapter well, I use my USB memory stick on my phone with it , yet when I tried this with my PS4 it gave me a screen with thick vertical lines of colors, and on my PC it showed up as a third monitor, weird
I use VNC & Chromecast ,
I wish I had host mode support..
Dude the raspberry pi keyboard is what I didn't yet know I needed
Pairs really well with one of those thin af asus external monitors
i see this as a perfect way to repurpose an old tablet and turning it into a chat monitor for twitch

Exactly. A clicbait title, misleading thumbnail, content making numerous unbased assumptions, all in the name of a poorly disguised ad.

It's a Raspberry Pi 400, not a raspberry pi keyboard...yea...it kinda is, but thats a separate product, you might send your fans into buying the keyboard and not the 400
Finally somebody knows about raspberry pi
I just recently got the same Pi 400, and I’ve been enjoying some 80s and 90s video games on it
There's that app called space desk... Use it, thank me later... Don't even need any dongle...
What's funny is I was thinking spacedesk when I first clicked this video 😆 I use it every now and again and it works pretty decent too! 😎
It sure is useful for text based tasks, like taking notes from work/college
Delay says no
@@1aboPLZ have you used usb tethering with it?
Use it for live streams. So nice having an extra monitor from a device that I wouldn’t even be using anyway
Imagine going to your friends house and see his crazy setup of 16 old, cracked iphones taped or glued together to make a moniter
I don't have the capture card so I use Splashtop wired x display, I can use USB cable without needing to have a capture card, hope this helps for someone that doesn't have a capture card
This needs more upvotes
Is that Kali Linux or just a wallpaper 👀
I had the same question. Why would you be using kali... On a smart phone? Kali is for pen testing so it wouldn't make sense.
Script kiddies
Kali for arm
People who want to look cool but are tech illiterate use Kali Linux
This is actually great for people plugging in consoles to laptops. Actually great tip
lol i was just watching your videod and you ubloaded a new one
"Pc or mobile?"

Love your videos! Also I did the same thing with my iPad mini 2

@@farmertruckerfpv with the adapters and a few other ones from amazon
Which app did u use for your iPad cuz the app he told isn’t available for iOS

Thanks bro absolutely helpful 👍🏽
You can also use space desk, with a cable. To do this, you need to activate the connection sharing mode in usb, connect to the computer, and that's it! You have it wired! But you can use it wirelessly obviously, but if your internet connection is as weak as my desire to look for a job, then you may have some lag problems, hence the fact of using a cable
There's many ways to get more use out of old devices but this was a cool trick.
The Raspberry Pi 400 is an amazing product
Just use space desk on both the tablet and PC and can use as monitor over wifi
issue with this though is that oftentimes capture cards have a delay
This would actually be a godsend for mixing music. Can you monitor output on the device too?
That phone's going to explode with all those cables 😂😂
what?
Dk About cable But heating haha Yes
your tv would've blown up long ago if this was even true
As a person with broken laptop screen and have to use tv as a monitor. Now i can use my laptop again while going out.
He's has Kali install. My man
Script kiddies use Kali.
Real men compile their own Linux Kernel in their minds.
LFS ( Life from scratch)
imagine not using arch
i use arch btw
@@lavishjaat wrong.
Kali is an extremely powerful kernel with a large body of packages and tools . Complying kernel is only good if ur trying to custom make ur own Linux distro.
While a bit harder to pull off the method where you remove the screen and connect it to a driver board is better. The iPad ones look really good and are actually big enough to be usable for everyday tasks.
me: “can i get a gaming setup”
mom: “no, we have a gaming setup at home”
gaming setup at home:
You just saved me buying a monitor thank you!
oh so that’s what juice wrld meant when he said “plug you in a program you like raspberry pi”
In armed and dangerous he said "gon make you flash, Adobe"
You can also use spacedesk for wifi or USB connection
"Why does this sounds like a commercial" 💀💀💀💀💀
Also fake indeed
This is actually ingenious! Finally I don't have to deal with the flimsyness of extracted LCD panels and can just use the whole phone as a screen WITH a case!
Thanks a lot!
I did this before but having your phone turned on for long hours a day would sometimes break the battery or bloat it.
USB itself can also do this with some software. There's no need for a 3rd party HDMI converter to be in the middle.
I used two iPads as vertical monitors, thank you, very helpfull
I use this method all the time when diagnosing pc's to check the problem isn't with the monitor or to access the bios of headless compters.
Bro I bought exact same LG tablet 7 years ago and I still have it, you can legit take of the screen has no connecter only on contact like like metal pieces touch then screen works
Also if you use an old phone, there are selfie sticks that can be used as a stand. Really reccomend
Whats the smallest device somebody has made you work on?
Great to be able to see your chat while streaming!
bro used a hacking os:)
*laughs in Gentoo and Arch*
I want to know why Kali, ParrotOS is better for lightweight systems.
"Hacking OS"
- Most Kali Linux users barely know anything about Linux and computers in general. So I don't see them hacking anything.
@@dustux 😂 I understand that but it is installed with hacking software
I've done this myself and it works pretty well for the most part it may lag a little bit but the base issue I always come across is with the sound because it will give you just picture only and if you want sound you got to use Bluetooth or something like that but as you know that's not always available do you know of or does anybody know of anywhere just to get the sound work like it should
Running Kali I see, very nice 🙂
I don't understand why, the pi isn't exactly all that powerful, ParrotOS is better for lightweight systems
Almost all Kali users barely know anything about Linux and computers in general.
@@dustux that on the otherhand is kinda true.
Most script kiddies use it, or the beginners since most websites and articles for some reason recommend starting with Kali.
there are also apps that can turn your phone into a USB monitor or even wifi, but none of the apps is clean, they're always messy things, but they do work.
“Video capture card…. That’s all you’re going to need”….pulls out a raspberry pie coded keyboard assuming it’s a common thing to have 💀
You can also use a laptop or desktop pc, he used the raspberry pi to demonstrate it
The raspberry pi is just the demonstration device. You can use anything that have an hdmi port
@@Subject97 for that you'll also need a smartphone that has usb3.0 for the hdmi support
I believe the goal is to turn a mobile device into a monitor.....not setup a mobile computer with a mobile phone monitor. Two very separate projects mate.
I have an old tablet that is huge but the electronics is old... this app and accessory could be useful
Me: Mom can I have a computer?
Mom: No we have one at home.
The one at home:
This is a joke
Its cool
Raspberry Pi with 5" screen
Finally a good idea for old phone ..
Imagine if you had a wall of tablets and your friend is like why and you turn it on and it's a movie screen
If you have old phone like me its great option for monitoring temperature and usage od gpu and cpu
A longer video on this would be great. I couldn’t gather much from this short.
You can also download an app and run it through your phone/tablet/whatever you want to use with the devices charging cable. You just have to download the same software on your computer and boom (works with pc,Mac,chrome, and Linux)
You can get an android controller, clamshell controllers are pretty good for this, and turn an old phone into a handheld console, anything up to the psp can be emulated perfectly even on old phones.
Also can turn them into security/IP cameras, or dashcams and gps trackers for vehicles with the right apps and a charging cable.
You can also use steam link or other streaming software
Wow, finally I can watch 4K videos at 360p, all thanks to my old phone monitor
Another way to go without the capture card is space desk works via USB tethering
Good idea. You only need to remember that if "video capture card" is usb 2.0 (or your device - even some usb type-c devices sometimes are usb 2.0) it will probably have limitations on screen resolution or refresh rate.
It would be cool if ther would be open-source app like this.
i had that black tablet and i miss it sm
You don't need the capture card. You can wirelessly use it as a display using spacedesk or wired using usb debugging
I like the fact that you've got Kali on this raspberry pi
I don't lol, ParrotOS is better for lightweight systems.
If you have an old tablet and no modern car stereo you can download a cardashboard skin and use it as a double din navigation unit aswell
Can more easily be done both wired and wirelessly via free apps instead. I have an older 8" tablet up and running as a sensor panel for my pc.
You can use some other apps that not require that thing, just a usb cable
if you have a Running Android device, You could as well run a vnc server on the Pi, and run a vnc viewer on the phone. no cables, no extra devices. probably just a little lag
Thank u bro i actually have a caoture card i bought on 2020 i have no use for it but when i see this im glad it finally has uses and i have a big tablet too
Ohhh! Could be a nice soundboard
“Ayo, so you said you brought your PC?”
“Yeah”
*whips out keyboard*
“👁👄👁”
😂
Bro please make more videos regarding this topic
You can also just use a normal usb and spacedesk or something
try it with space desk server on windows or linux it works without video capture
wish i had the funds for this, its awesome
You can use it as a GPS/music controller in your car, keep it as a spare phone in case of accident, use it as a pro phone if needed, or giving them away
“Any” is a bit of an overstatement. I have tablets that don’t support usb devices.
Sadly my old device is too old to even open the App Store
you: “why does this sound like a commercial..”
me: “LOL true”
If you want you can also use Space desk and there's no need for a capture card, but it has a bit of delay
Awesome content, thanks for this info. Suresh from India ❤
Reset to factory. Open it up and disable the wifi connection. Use as a hardware wallet ONLY.
You can also use a capture card to record console gameplay
Perfect for a broken ipad like mine
Thear are ways that work without the hdmi capute card (asus for example has an app for that that works wird or wireless)
this could be good for a small display as part of a racing/flying sim setup
For that I recommend Sim dashboard
Does this also like work on TVs?
I'll try using my old tablet as a monitor for my raspberry pi projects, thanks
My C55 Siemens, suddenly I remember you My lovely old device .
a whole computer in a keyboard? well im waiting for a whole computer in a mouse now, possibly on a mousepad
“Why does this sound like a commercial?”
Because it is.
And the problem sometimes is the text size too small if we viewing as desktop feature.
