    Just to preface the experience I’ll be sharing, I have low porosity hair with 2C/3A curls and I’ve been on my curly hair journey for about 2 years. After watching your previous videos about Olaplex, I felt very motivated + inspired to try it out for myself. I was SO disappointed with my results after just one use. It left my hair SO brittle, rubbery, and weak. My hair has been falling out so much and my curls don’t curl the same anymore. To all my curly-haired family out there, I would recommend doing more personal research about how this product might possibly react with your own hair type. I’m happy that this is a product that worked really well for Gena, but it might not work the same for everyone else. Personally, I 100% regret using Olaplex.

    • @breewecker4638

      Olaplex has a lot of protein in it, so your hair might have had to much protein in it after using olaplex, because what you described is curls that have a protein overload

    Doing a scheduled Olaplex treatment while watching this video 😂 Unless it has changed the Olaplex website does not say you have to use a plastic cap and you can leave it on as long as you want so it will dry out. I usually put it in, put my hair up in a tight bun (low density hair means very small bun) and then workout. I also use the 4,5, & 6 with it. THANK YOU for coupon code!

    So this really awesome because I had no idea That I was training my curls already? I’ve always done this just to make my hair more manageable because I have very curly thick Latina hair and I’ve just done this for years,I twist my hair up and everyone always thought I had some sort of curly dreads going on but if I ever do a bleaching or color processing to it I just twist my hair up, this is so rad to know! I’m definitely ordering the olaplex 3 right now I’ve done some research and I also lighten my hair again out of boredom and needing change 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have to tone and tone and probably root shadow again( I’m looking like a light 🍊) but definitely seems that I need some Olaplex in my life

    You don’t have to do all that. Just finger coil. Then when it’s time to rinse out you don’t have to untwist. Sometimes this curly hair community will have people overthinking and doing too much lol

    • @ChrissyPlus
      @ChrissyPlus Před 2 lety +2

      I'm guessing it depends on your hair type. Personally, I have some areas where finger coiling just will NOT work because it stretches out like crazy near the root. But other areas where it works perfectly. I'll definitely be doing this method for the problem areas

    I did see a difference in your hair. They both looked really good, also your makeup looked really pretty.
    I think I would go crazy with the curl training on my hair. I would rather have waves than go through all that for more curls. Also, I have tried Olaplex 3 twice now on clean, damp hair and really saw no improvement. I know that my hair has damage, not severe, but some. Maybe I need to leave it on longer. I followed the directions and left it on about 10 minutes. I almost feel that I get better results when I give myself a protein treatment. Thanks for the demo.

      are you using stylers to seal in the moisture? Check out Manes by Mell and her method - prep, style, seal. You want to make sure the hydration is locked in after conditioning so your hair doesn't dry out. Olaplex is awesome for restoring your pattern/health also, but won't address the dryness.

      I pre-poo first with oil and dry detangle before shampooing. I have a video about it here: czcams.com/video/z0WDvC9G1-Y/video.html

    does anyone know if you can do curl training on just the top half of the strands? I have very wavy hair but it is nearly straight at the root, and ringlets at the end lol

    This is helpful..as always :) I just ordered the Olaplex 3 but I was wondering if deep conditioning would be a good idea - on the same wash day or separate. I have high porosity, fine hair that I'm trying to repair from general color damage as well as moisture overload. (It's been a fun couple of months). I have been doing some rice water treatments but I don't plan to do that on the same day as Olaplex. So...I was wondering when it would be good to do a protein rich DC?

    How often would you do an Olaplex treatment?

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie  Před 4 lety +1

      When I'm in need of a treatment, I do it about once a week for 4-6 weeks at a time. I usually repeat that process about once a year.

      @@GenaMarie I've used it once but not with curl training I'm going to try that next. I have super short hair from a big chop so even though my hair is short I know this will help my hair as it gets healthier and linger. K regret my big chop

    Can I cowash everyday

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie  Před 4 lety

      You can if that's what works best for you! I still recommend clarifying on a regular basis since a co-wash doesn't always remove buildup on the scalp.
