- One of the most interesting new camp items coming soon to Fallout 76, has just arrived on the Player test server.
A new camp weather system that can be activated by placing down a camp weather station. Currently two of three variants are available on the PTS for the boardwalk weather & clear weather and in todays video we are taking a closer look at both of these, while doing some testing to figure out the capabilities of this interesting new feature.

Rainy/damp foggy weather would be nice. Something like Faa Haabah's environment.
I think there's potential to milk this, with them introducing multiple new weather options in future.

Set up a ramshackle house in the Mire, put on a Trapper set with a lobster helmet, and flatten your A's
Maybe slow drifts up against the walls and other items in the camps. Lets hope these no bugs with the weather system

I love the one that makes it darker. Can't wait to see how it accentuates lighting in my camp.

I can’t wait for all these cool weather options, I kinda wanna see the Mothman Event custom weather as a Option.
I love how it makes burning lights so much brighter.
Now I can stop complaining how my camp lighting doesn't get shown off because night time is so short. :D
We are almost there mate lol still missing the basic day/night cycle.
I think we can look forward to at least 1 or 2 fun bugs for this weather generator :)

I don’t know why the boardwalk’s weather machine is designed to look like the casino quarter, kinda strange choice imo

I wish the clear weather weather machine could have other effects rather than just be "clear weather" perhaps via the terminal?
A bit like the collectrons? Yeah that would be pretty handy.
Id want the atlantic city weather just as a nice decoration, cause the actual device looks great visually. And i am curious to what future lnes wkll come out. Like the Quantum alien rad storm, maybe the mothman dust from the equinox event, maybe even a nuke zone weather effect.

I’m not sure if they’re adding night/day because these are only weather machines
@@lokotako5220 they really really need to add that to custom worlds or this ideally. Simple day/night would be huge.
I think i maybe missunderstood the video? 1:49 Looks like is night-ish , so that's still good it could look cool if you get in the range of the House, and also is great that we don't have to wait in game night to be able to use lights... SO this won't exist that night mode?@@lokotako5220

Does the Boardwalk one have any affect at all on nocturnal weapons? 🤔
Not silly at all! I actually don't know lol but I would assume it doesnt. You can turn off camp weather in your settings so I think its literally a cosmetic without any real effects.
@@UraniumFever76 I wants the snooowwwww! That snow machine we currently have is just dreadful. It spits out so much, so powerfully from the fan part, but we barely get a few flakes. Someone needs to apologise for that! 😆
Man I really hope they allow us to utilize these in the shelters at some point.
I've long bemoaned how short the night is when my massive haunted chapel looks so great in the dark.
They really need to bring new lighting controls to the shelters.
Allow us to turn off the baked in lights as well as ambient hot spots.
Id rather be able to delete said lights but being able to set the default state to on or off would be huge.
I would like one that shrouds your camp in darkness.
I think the boardwalk is close to that, but if they added the dark bog weather it definitely would be.
I use two snow machines at my camp in towers to look like im spreading fertalizer (the theme is a vault tec ag outpost) wonder how well the snow will work there

Just saying, imagine if they add in an actual snow storm since clearly snow is now a weather option? Could use the old Nuclear Winter effect with a new texture.

haha they keep pulling you back in... I'm doubling up Starfield and BG3 at the moment. Although spending a lot more time on the latter...

If this was April I would be thinking is a joke - but, wow... actually WOW.. this will be amazing just for all on server with camps to have our own controlable weather systems... going from one to another in diferent weathers - haha cant wait...
You can switch it off in your settings if you prefer!

It's really cool mate. Although still waiting for the snow, which I think will be game changing.
I hope it fixes the terrible blooming effects on interior lighting, as I believe that is a direct negative effect from sun blooming & god reys.

Thanks for the great update! This new item has me very excited, especially for the Boardwalk Weather Station. Q1) Did the Boardwalk Weather (at least when applied to a camp) seem to you as slightly lighter than Custom World's Dark Bog or does it seem like they used the same weather? Q2) Did you check the menu in a shelter to see if the Weather Stations show up as buildable or if it's excluded? I doubt they will enable it but one can dream.
Some days I don't even go to my camp, so I can't see me using/needing these.
Far harbor weather would fit halloween pretty well

Id rather that they make a single weather machine able to do any weather setting you want, rather than forcing us to collect them all like pokemon.

Yep, kind of like the Glowing Sea, but without the constant clicking of the geiger counter, and those bloody radscorpions popping by to say hello every 5 minutes.
Can this be viewed by other players or only by yourself?
Viewed by other players but you can also turn off camp weather in your own game settings!

Great question, something I should have tested. Could be pretty cool though if they can mix.
I really hope they offer skins for these asap. This skin is not going to fit in with 99% of Camps and will need to be hidden.
I would liken it to snow like in RDR 2.

Does using the clear weather station protect you from rads from storms/nukes?

The one thing Bethesda knows how to do is make good in game content for the atomic shop and scoreboard like everyone hates micro transactions but Bethesda does them very well on 76

how do you change the weather, all you’re showing is that it can be places down, not how to use it. For me I want to make my camp have snow but you’re not showing how to change it.

Here it is a year later, and still only available on the test servers. Nothing in the real game.
Leave it to Fallout to create one of the most interesting feature for your camp but then going ahead and not making anything worthwhile like a Rad Storm.
Fallout 76 is my abusive relationship, I went in there, saw the weather stations and something inside of me sparked up. Once I saw that theres no Rad Zone or Rad Storm in A FU**ING POST APOCALYPTIC GAME I felt as betrayed as I felt the first time I got cheated on or beein beat up by my mother.
You of all people should know that snow will always be nothing more than an air effect. There will never be snow on the ground. You and everyone else are way too eager for what is essentially a nothingburger. Your expectations set you up for disappointment. Adjust your expectations.
Oh I know I’ve seen the footage of how it looks. It won’t be perfect but I still thought it looked half decent.
