Mozart Sonata K. 331, theme and 2 variations for cello duet

Now in our third lockdown here in Melbourne..today I was looking back at some videos I made during the second lockdown last year and came across this little duet attempt of one of my favourite Mozart Piano Sonatas. I think I eventually abandoned the project as I got caught up in other things and so it never made it onto my channel. Well.. here it is with a few variations! As I listen back now I'm confronted with a strange contradiction of feelings - on the one hand it's such simple, sublime, lighthearted music.. but at the same time it seems to conjure memories of isolation, loneliness, and generally grey days when the whole city was quiet and still. Funny how the moods and feelings one experiences at a certain time can become embedded in the music for many months, even years after. But anyhow.. still a gorgeous gem and totally feasible as a cello duet in my opinion!
Some questionable ensemble moments in the variation movements.. I don't think the two cellists rehearsed together enough!
