Never ending money pit 😂 I’m not sure about the double din now in the TD5 as I feel it will be a weird angle- thinking of a good single DIN head unit and upgrading the speakers now then just usb’ing my iPhone which I have mounted to the windscreen
Maybe black self tappers would give a better finish to the roof lining? I gave up on the interior LED bulbs as they seem to blow quite often. However, I recently fitted a Mud Stuff interior light. They are very impressive. They don't look too out of place and they are lovely and bright. You can switch between red and white light, which is nice as the red light won't impact on your night vision.
Thanks Tim- I’m planning on painting them black (but you’re right black would have been better from the start!) thanks for the tip- I will check out the mud stuff light 👌🏻
Hi looks great, I did the same to mine a year or so ago but found it started pulling away from the tight corners, ended up injecting fabric glue with a syringe with a for inch needle through the fabric then wedge a piece of wood under it till it dries which seem to do the job in the end, Did you find this problem when fitting yours?
Great video, it now looks much better and the sound deadening will make for a nicer drive. One word of caution about the LED bulb you have fitted in the interior. I know someone who replaced all their original bulbs with 'cheap' Ebay LED bulbs, one failed and it caused a problem which damaged his alarm ECU and cost over £600 for a replacement alarm😧 This may be a very rare issue, but personally I would only fit quality branded ones such as Osram etc, after hearing about this failure, just in case👍
What colour did you get? I’m definitely going to do this during this summer now. Can I ask, it seemed like there were some lines or grooves where you weren’t able to smoothen it out? Is that due to it being difficult or is it possible to get a clean finish using this foam backed suede that you linked in the description? Wondering also how many metres I should use for a crew cab? Any ideas?
I went for black (part of the reason was to hide those small creases easily!) I don’t think you can get them completely gone unless you’re a professional - I got most out my pulling up and reapplying but it’s hard in the sharp corners. To be honest when it’s actually up on the roof you don’t see them at all 👌🏻 for a crew cab I would get 4 metres that will be more than enough and you could wrap other bits too with what’s left over 🙌🏼
@@thedoctorsgarage how did you manage with the sharp corners where there is the excess material in the vid?? Did you have to cut the material or were you able to stretch it somehow?
ALL THE PARTS AND TOOLS I USED CAN BE FOUND IN THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION ABOVE ☝️
You have made a very good professional job of the roof liner. The light looks like a very handy piece of kit 👍🏻
Thansk Dave - really please with it and yes love the light!

Looks brilliant - well done - time for long drive to Wales to get the cars paws wet :)
Thanks Malcolm - it’s paws are wet enough from driving round town today!😂😂
Just doing mine at the moment, however the British weather is making it difficult, looks good and thanks for the share
Thanks Anthony - weathers not great at the minute is it!
Me too although im in Perth Australia so i have the opposite problem. 39°C here for the past week so its more like 60°C inside the car 😥
@@anuaridris966 especially with a black roof!

Thanks Richard- I didn’t but I’m hoping that doesn’t start to happen now it’s fitted! I used loads of that spray on glue so hoping it sticks
Huge improvement 👍
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Doc, use some black numberplate screw caps for the screws that hold the rear panels up.
That’s a brilliant idea! I was thinking paint
Looks great and something I desperately need to do on mine so thanks for the tips...can I ask what you did with the sun visors 🤔
🤨

Thanks James- that’s really interesting about the electronics - never knew it could cause so much damage!

Thanks Graham… would hoping no one would ask- I haven’t put them back on! I was going to wrap them too and maybe will in a bit of time..
Thanks Marcus be good to see what that comes out like as it's the only thing that's stopped me so far from having a go 😬

@@justinhong929 I tucked them over and left them above the liner in the roof- thought It may help with the sound deadening!
Hi. Did the wood glue stiffen the panel?
Hi Bert- yes it did- easy and simple to
do and made a difference
Hey, did the wood glue help with the sagging of the headliner?
Hi Tom- yes I think it did- definitely felt stiffer after I had applied it so would recommend 👌🏻👌🏻
Hi Marcus was the is the black or the dark grey? Many thanks
Looks spot on👍🏼 Where did you buy the rear headliner from ?
I actually bought it from a guy here on CZcams that commented- it’s a La Salle GRP headliner
If you don't fancy messing about with glue and scissors you can buy complete head lining from Masai 4x4.
I was tempted but then I saw it was over £700! So thought I’d try the DIY method and to be fair it’s not bad for under £100 👌🏻
Where did you get the back headliner ?
Hi Gerard all the parts are in the description below the video but this is the suedetrim-
SUEDETRIM - ebay.us/WuRfrE
I got 4 metres
I love my 300tdi. But most upgrades simply seem like I’m putting lipstick on a pig. It’s basicy still a tractor.
