When you swap your weapon really fast like that does it regen mana? Does it have to be 2 spirit staves as well?

Drinking works by increasing your mana regen. The mana you regen is awarded, or "ticks", every 5 seconds. But when your mana regen changes (for example because you switch weapons), any stored mana regen ticks immediately. This means that if an opponent interrupts you at 2.5s of the drink, and you swap weapons right before, you still get half the regen of the drink. Since the mana regen you get from drinking dwarfs the mana regen you get from your weapon, it is not important to use two regen weapons. Also, it is not important to switch weapons quickly: just switch to your regen weapon while drinking and switch to your other weapon right before an opponent interrupts you.

@@baade6010 ​ yes, but I don't mean interrupt as "kick" or "pummel", I mean "stops you from drinking".
Also, you can imagine many cases in which you have to stop drinking before you were able to get a tick from drinking (for example, because your partner is dying).
In this case, switching weapons right before you stop drinking yourself is also useful, since you will get a partial tick.
Maybe that clarifies something.
Just switch weapons right before you are about to stop drinking and you will get maximum effect.
Since sometimes its hard to tell when you will (be forced to) stop drinking exactly, it can be smart to switch weapons constantly.
