    I rode a 2004 Rebel for 3 years before someone pulled out in front of me totaling it out.. Loved the bike being a shorter rider it was perfect for me I did notice after a while it could have definitely used a little more power but it was still super light capable machine and was perfect for city riding and such I really love the style of the newer ones! I have a 2002 sv650s now Love the vtwin note torque and it is fun in a corner has more than my skill set could ever use!

    Greetings from Portugal! I love Cruisers and i love this modern look Honda Rebel.
    Everyone complains about its seat, even about the SE Edition's, and Honda did nothing to change that although they are already in their 2nd version of this Rebel 500cc (electronic changes, led lights, Gear display available, ...)
    It must be why i see so many ads of people trying to sell their modern Rebels on Facebook's Marktplace and similar sites.
    I've seen a couple of Honda Rebels 500 without their original seats.
    Instead their owners had put a rigid seat set on springs, adjusted to original seat's place.
    Happy journeys and safe rides, mate!✌😉🔰

    GREAT review! I'm in the states. Bought a new 300 a few months ago and realized VERY quickly I made a mistake despite all the reviews I'd watched. I'm taking a bath on selling it, but I have to get the 500, it's ordered, should be in within a week. Can't wait. It's Laurel Matte Green whatever that is. Cheers!

    Have had my Honda Rebel 500 for past 7 months for my Ls/Ps, it's a great bike for learner and Ps, very easy to ride, but now with a few months under my belt, I'm looking forward to my next bike already, as even with 10-15 mins on a highway, the bike is seriously lacking power. But so far I've loved every minute of it!! Looking foward to my next bike, either a Indian Scout Bobber or a Harley Davidson Low Rider S or Streetbob.

      Yea I had the same experience, it was my first bike and had fun on it but it does lack on the highway. To the point that I’d try to avoid it when I was on rides with buddies. I traded it in and upgraded to a GSX8S, but the rebel still holds a place in my heart. Good memories.

    Love my Rebel 500. Don't regret. So much so when I bought an 1100DCT today I chose not to trade in the 500. I kept it. It's a fun naked cruiser bike. Just a basic raw bike. I love it around town. Surprised how many folks turn and compliment it. I got the 1100DCT to be the highway cruising bike. Two bikes, two separate purposes.

    Cool video, you should try the new Honda 500cc CL scrambler . I got that one now and have 3,000 miles on it. I think it's more fun to ride. It's more nimble and a lot better suspension.
    I traded in the Rrebel
    1,100cc DCT for it.
    Didn't like the ergonomics. The power was fantastic.
    Put 14,500 miles on it.

      Dct would make the 1100 less fun than the cl500 immediately lol, they look like a heap of fun though!

    I have the 2021 se.
    I use it for everyday fun/camping trips and find with the honda soft panniers and an aftermarket rack I can bungie shitloads on it and it still handles great.
    Everybody seems to consider the rebel 500 as a beginner bike.
    I disagree with that from the point of view that after 30+ years of riding all sorts of bikes it's now about having fun and enjoying the ride.
    The se is a great looking retro/vintage looking bike but with modern tech.
    I fixed the musarri silencer and the bike now sounds awesome.
    Love riding it.
    Screw the haters, ride safe matey, greeting from Scotland.

      due to years of aussie living, we clearly have copious amounts of super glue on hand to prevent falling tragedies lol. While the rebel may be a good beginner bike, it's still a super bike for anyone and will tackle any task you throw at it well!

    • @inkfish1380
      @inkfish1380 Před 10 měsíci

      @sergeantwombat I think it brilliant, honda have produced a cruiser that totally disregards all the usual cruiser b.s., ie ,too much chrome, too heavy, generally ugly and obnoxious, just nasty really.
      But the se in the matt metallic with everything blacked out looks awesome.
      I want whitewalls for mine to finish it off.
      I do a few trips a year up into the Highlands for wild camping, usually around 100 miles either way on twisty roads, the rebel loves it.

  • @JediCore
    @JediCore Před 3 měsíci

    Indian Scouts do really have a small leaning angle. I scraped both of my pegs on my Rogue multiple times by just doing practice circles on a parking lot... and few times taking a roundabout at a nice pace. Luckily, the leaning angle is mainly limited by the pegs. The pegs are LONG. I can fit 1.5 feet on one peg and I'm size 11. Getting shorter pegs fixes the issue. But so far I ain't complaining. I take the peg scrapes as a sign to take things slow.
    also, why would you regret getting a Rebel. I was thinking of the 1100 model myself. They are great looking bikes.

    I bought an old 09 suzuki boulevard s40 its a 650 cc i believe. Im a beginner. I love the bike but it doesnt tell me what gear im in or anything, it basically only has a light up when its in neutral. I was thinking about the rebel 500 with all its fancy tech😂.

    It's not a "rocket ship", true. It gets up at 100 MPH no problem, before the governor cuts in. You won't be wheelieing at 70mph on the way, but this should not be the focus of a cruiser/naked/bob/mid or whatever.
