- I tested out over 10 weeks two popular online dermatology subscription services to clear my acne and help fade my hyperpigmentation.
Skin +Me and Dermatica both provide online services from dermatologists where you can access treatments and ingredients such as Tretinoin, Clindamycin, Azelaic Acid and more! on a monthly basis.
The first month is free with only shipping to pay and you can cancel or carry on the subscription for however long you want. In this video, I review both brands and really go into detail on my experiences and what ingredients (and the concentrations) that I was prescribed.
Make sure to check out my Instagram for the pictures I sent to the brands before I started with the treatment. - / adamrobertlamb

Disclaimer: I am not a dermatologist nor an aesthetician, I am however incredibly passionate about skincare. I love to try out new products, brands, research ingredients and give you an honest opinion on the very best affordable and effective skincare you can get your hands on. With skincare, there is a lot of research out there that can be misleading or incorrect when published. Science and technology continue to thrive and with that, comes new and updated scientific backing and research to our most beloved skincare ingredients. So please take this into consideration as I try my very best to source accurate information at the time of filming.

Very happy with Dermatica. They are very professional and I like the idea of increasing ingredients over time. Had no problems with the packaging and delivery came 24 hours after my confirmation email. Super efficient
I’ve been wanting a video comparing the two for a while... thank you!! 🙏 x
You’re very welcome hun 🥰
You seem like such a nice humble guy! Thank you for the review! All the best to you!
Make sure you check out my Instagram for the before and after pictures of my skin! @adamrobertlamb 😘
I'm in America and so far I'm happy with Dermatica. Thanks for telling about Skin + Me nice to know about.
Thank you for sharing your unbiased experience. I was in a dilemma between Dermatica and Skin & Me. Your video popped up first - I've just signed up (after your video) for Skin & Me. and also subscribed to your channel xx
Thank you so much!! I really hope you enjoy it 💖
I have been using Dermatica since January, so three months now, I do notice that my pores are reduced in size, my acne dark spots are none existing and the texture of my skin is a lot smoother. I must add that I do use Niacinamide and sun protection on a daily basis, also I have improved my diet, so I'm avoid triggering foods like chocolate, fried food and pizza; so I think it's a combination of really good products and balance meals which have yielded good results.
I had bad acne and skin + me helped so much!
Thank you for the video, good to know about both of these companies 😊
Thank you for doing this video. Skin and me it is x
I like the new background - keep going Adam!
Eeek amazing! Thank you so much xxx
I’ve just signed up to Dermatica...can’t wait to see the results 😊
How u doing now? Did it work?
@@liticianurudeen7960 yes I was blown away by dermatica 😊 the peeling is frustrating
But wow it helps my texture and hyperpigmentation 😊😊
I have tried both. Got very similar prescriptions. Love skin & me packaging but dermatica is cheaper for more product. So it’s Dermatica for me.
I’ve only experienced Dermatica, I would agree that the branding is a lot more clinical. I’ve been happy with my Dermatica treatments though 7 months on! 💜
Their formula is great and so glad it’s working wonders for you 💖🥰
I just coming up to the end of my first month with skin and me and im really impressed already , i m definitely going to try dermatica , thank you
I'm using skin a me love it on my third month ill be 60 next and my skin is looking amazing lol well I think so thank you for the demonstration x
I Love Dermatica, works So well for my skin and now 7 months in, my skin has never been happier
I know the content creator opinion you will probably mean more to you but I’ve had both for around 6 months (after 6 months changed and then had the other for 6 months) and I must say both work very well but I must say dermatica are just amazing and like I said both work in terms of removing acne but dermatica just removed it and made my skin feel so much smoother and glowy in comparison.. I am a 22 year old male
Your skin looks really great!
Thank you so much! Xxxx
Hey Adam loving the new filming set up it looks great.. I have tried Dermatica before and they were really good though I found just buying tret online to be easier and didnt have to bother with the subscription but then this is more tailored to your specific skin needs so may give it another go.. xxx
I would definitely give Skin+Me a go just to spice things up a lil
Hi Mad about skin could I please ask where you bought your Tretinoin from before Dermatica? Were they a good company? Thank you. 🌸
@@mlw1069 hey there I got mine from reliable rx - just wanted to share 💕
@@ann-marie808 hi, does it ship to the U.K.?
@@annitiacardozo2030 yeah it does it came in a week! I was suprised but ofcourse happy
This is such an amazing and informative video! I’m on my skincare journey too! I’ve been on skin and me for 6 months now and it’s changed my life! Takes all the faff out of working out what’s best for your skin!
Sounds like we’re on the same strength abs ingredients 😍💛
Thank you so much lovely xxx
@@AdamRobertLamb all love! X
I’m really impressed with Skin + Me. In combination with Skinade drink, my ageing skin is feeling good.
Hi Adam, your skin look perfect, please tell us what you doing in the next videos:))
Thank you hun!! 💖💖
The problem with Skin+me is that dose is so low to start with it would take several months before having the dose that would actually help with the problem to begin with. But I suppose at that point you’d be using it every night where maybe on a higher dose to start of with, with dermatica you’d might still be on a few times a week at that same point?
It’s such a hard choice 😂
Awesome video would love to gift both of them to my Sister's 🧡
So informative ❤
I have severe acne and Dermatica worked brilliantly for me for about a year then randomly stopped working, switched to Skin and Me, been on it 6 months and it’s definitely helping but still getting breakouts and gives me really dry skin. Plus the bottles are smaller, the daily dose of Skin and Me isn’t enough to cover my whole face.
Your skin looks lovely
Thank you, my cream doesn't contain Tratanoin in it for Dermatica.
It contains
Adapelene
Niacinamide
Azelaic Acid
I’ve used both and Dermatica was definitely my favourite and gave me the best and fastest results. But Skin+Me the dose was so low for too long, slowing down results. And I preferred Dermatica’s texture tbh
thanks adam im wanting to try one or the other im on fence :) x
I was actually thinking about dermatology, while I haven't heard about the other one. It's like you're reading my mind 🤣 I might reconsider haha
We’re just so in sync when it comes to skincare 😜
Dermatica started me on 0.015 Tretinoin, so they do it too. I prefer Dermatica's London look haha
Really enjoyed your video , signed up for free trial for both there . I see now on Dermatica they are selling a 20% Azelaic cream for £19.99 .. it’s the tretinoin I’m interested in but saw that cream and thought of your video 👍🏼
I've just started skin and Me I didn't have any problems with it on first use but 2nd day my skin peeled a bit and I have dry patches each side of my mouth so I didn't use it lastnite thought I'd giv my skin a little break but I will defo be using it again tonite
Hi guys, I had brilliant results for acne using dermatica, but then the topical antibiotics became much less effective due to tolerance - what does one do when the prescription stops working? Thanks in advance
I use skin and me and I’ve had really good results so far, I have melasma and it has reduced 😊
Oh amazing!!! 😍
With what? They dont use hydroquinone. Tretinoin and niacinamide is not enough for melasma, I mean not usually.
@@kmaj9767 My prescription reads tretinoin, niacinamide and azelaic acid :-)
What strength of Azelaic acid and niacinamide and tretinoin do you have ?
I wish that something like this exists in Canada.
Is it gonna be applied just on affected area of your face, like forehead alone or even on your whole face?
I've just finished skin and me but was disappointed in the amount of tretinoin 0.006! Found dermatica which the first tube has 0.015 so over double! I love skin and me dispenser and I've never had an issue with side effects! Due to start dermatica tonight.
Got 0.015 from skin &me as my first prescription so it depends
Yeah the dose is so low & pathetic. That's why I didn't go with them.
For me it’s skin and me tried both but had a really bad reaction and burns from dermatica that I didn’t get from skin and me and also had quicker and better results with skin and me
I totally agree with dermatica packaging. I took it out and wanted to toss it because I thought it was used but decided to keep it and use it which seemed to be a good idea otherwise a perfectly good product would have gone to waste!
Hi,
Just wanted to say do you have skin updates on your journey. I have just received Dermatica and sure they have improved their approach since your video (2 years ago) very curious for my journey. They have added follow up e-mail with the skin plan up to 3 months and introduce an amazing price on the first month.
Im using skin+me, after 3 weeks on first cream (0.06% tret, 4% niacinamide, 4% azelaic acid) my redness on left cheek was already mostly corrected and the doser tube means i dont overload my skin either
If you don’t mind me asking, which moisturiser and cleanser did you use with it?
This what they started me on I am only one week in so can't see anything yet
I am trying both along with MDacne
Oooo amazing! What are your thoughts??? 💖
@@AdamRobertLamb I loved skin and me ( zinc pyrithione, niacinamide and clindamycin)
Dermatica is extremely drying ( tretinoin, niacinamide, azelaic acid) and you should try MDacne is amazing ( cleanser benzoyl peroxide, moisturiser niacinamide and spot treatment salicylic acid
What about pigmentation skin, which is better
This might be a stupid question but I can't find an answer. How is one able to purchase Dermatica products with the tretinoin? Don't you have to have to, for lack of better words, have a doctors note? I just don't understand how they're 'allowed' to sell the stuff. Thanks!
Please could you do a video about blue tansy? It’s meant to be a good antioxidant
Iv just received my first Skin + me used it just now and it don't dispense much! I used double if not triple what they say i should use a day. Im not keen on that not enough for my neck. Also I was given very low %
you’re not supposed to use it on your neck
Hi, have you tried MDAcne? I just found it online and I’m wondering if the ingredients would be better because it uses benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid whereas neither Skin+Me or Dermatica use? Also I heard clindamycin can cause antibacterial resistance, is that true?
hey Adam, what are your thoughts on the Azelaic Acid being at 4%? do you think it's still effective? love your vids
Thank you so much and yes absolutely! Of course it’s never going to be the same as 15% but overall it really does depends on the formula of a product as to how well it works on the skin 💕
@@AdamRobertLamb thank you agh 💕💕💕
I’m on that, reduced my acne but still getting breakouts. Also have really dry and flakey skin since starting.
@@aimee2338 try sandwiching your treatment
If you possess a super breakout-sensitive skin, I would defo recommend skin+me. Their formulation do not contain pore clogging ingredients. Dermatica tretinoin broke me out nonstop. Which is the reason I switched.
Just because your skin broke out doesn't mean the formula had skin-clogging ingredients. Tretinoin is a retinoid and as with all retinoids there's a period of "purging" which when your acne gets worse because it works by regenerating the skin hence it's completely normal, especially to those who are new to retinoids. If you don't experience any breakouts, either you are on a very low strength or your skin has built tolerance to it.
@@Pyxelles iv had my fair share of purging and im sure it wasnt the case.I was on dermatica on hydroquinone n tretinoin.. had purging for a month.. then after my skin adjusted switched to sams percentage without hydroquinone.. and all hell broke loose again.. so pretty sure not purging but the formulation.
@@iBrusset Purging can last up to 6 months+. "One month" is minor purging.
@@iBrusset purging can last well over a month. Maybe try things the actual recommended amount of time before spreading bad info and reviews??
If using 1 pump of Dermatica a Day. How long Will it last?
Thank you :-)
Does anyone know what percentage of tretinoin dermatica give you ? I feel like skin and me is so low
Dermatica seems more popular. I never hear anyone speaking of Skin and Me though
I’ve used dermatica and it only worked for the first month and my prescription changed so many times and nothing worked. So now I’m trying skin and me so I hope it works
I'm thinking to change too. Let me know ehich is better
What best for closed comedones
I am trying skin and me my skin has cleared up hardly any spots but it dry and peeling round my nose and a bit red and sore I have never had dry skin before I dont know whether to carry on or stop .
Maybe use it less, not every night. Every other night. And use very simple skin barrier repair skincare alongside it. Toleriane products from La Roche Posay perfect for this :) Or, you can try layering it on top of your moisturiser every night. Let the moisturiser dry for 15 mins first, then put the prescription one on top.
Took me until 6 month mark before my skin could tolerate it every night try using it every other night or every 3rd night until your skin adjust im on 0.21% tretinoin now and on my 7th month
Hi Adam I have ordered skin me product recently my concern is anti aging coz I am in my 40s .they proscribed me Tretinion 0.006% , Niacinemide 4% and Azelaic acid4%. I have been using retinol 1% in the past .and I was expecting tretinion strength is bit higher then this what I have got. My question is can I have skin me treatment strength bit higher then this if yes how can I ?I want something effective on my skin. Coz I have fine lines and crow feet’s on my eyes. And other things is how much would they cost me every month if I have this every month?
I have used both dermatica and skin&me and with both I asked them to increase the strength (with justification that I have used stronger strengths over long periods of time and can tolerate it). It's worth noting that Tretinoin is 20x stronger than retinol too.
You can but I would suggest you try it for a month then give them honest feedback. They might want to gradually step you back up.
OMG 15 minutes and still none the wiser, which did you prefer? I may have skipped, as it discussed too much around packaging and postal issues. I am not fussed if packaging was damaged, like a box, that can be done by a courier or postal service, not really reflective if the product works or not. Sorry, thats a bit of feedback, as I clicked on this to understand which works better on actual skin, not to know postal issues, or packing differences. No one really cares about that, they want to know what works, and which is best, and why (as a product on the skin).
Is any of brand vegan?
I love the skin and me packaging but it didn't compare to dermatica in my opinion and a much weaker strength even though in informed them what Dermatica had been prescribing me. I stopped using the skin and me as it left a little red rash which went away after stopping using it.
Hello,I had subscribed in dermatical 30-April ,no yet reviwe now ,why don’t answer dermatica?
How much product do you get with each?
You get a full months worth xx
@@AdamRobertLamb Thank you so much, but could you tall me how many ml or ouces?
@@Heedy770 15ml
Ive loved skin and me for months, but recently its been drying it out too much. Someone i follow said the same thing and she's switched to dermatica.
Hi, I would like to know if £19.99 a month is the only charge or do you get charged for products on top of the £19.99? Please help
£19.99 is per month for products and then a £3/£4 shipping fee on top
Thank you for clearing that up.
It looks worth it, cos I'm just tired of doing by myself.

@@magpiesneedle2575 azelaic acid... You could have honestly just searched for it you know...
Dermatica were terrible. Really unprofessional. I had been on 1% retin a for 10 years and they wanted to put me on 0.025. When I asked why they did not response and three weeks later they sent out the product. I was so disappointed. I will never use them again.
You are forgetting there are different types. Tretinoin is very powerful so would be too strong in a 1% formulation perhaps.
@@stevieg6418he mentioned retinol not tretinoin
Not very useful your review.
Nothing about the actual products just about the packaging 🤣but thanks 🙄
