- Here are the original Willows (previously the 5 Willows) performing their biggest hit, and a well-remembered east-coast oldie. It was their 7th release (the first as the Willows) on the Melba label in 1956. It charted in the top 15 R n’ B and in the top 65 pop. This performance is by the original group at the great Burlington County concert: Tony Middleton, Richard Davis, John Steele, and the brothers, Joe and Ralph Martin. Unfortunately, Neil Sedaka was not available to play the chimes!

I lucky enough to be at that show. It was filmed as a documentary. Does anyone know if it was actually produced? I’d like to get my hands on it. It was an amazing lineup reuniting original members. At least 15 groups. There was a dinner break where we all dined together. I think they only sold 100 tickets.
You'd think they coulda found someone to play the chimes... After all, the chimes were an integral part of that song...YA THINK???...😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
They did Neil Sedaka
@@thomasthomas2891 I'm well aware Neil Sedaka played chimes on the original recording... Thank you for taking the time to respond 😊😊😊
