- as most of you requested I made a video of my tuned 2019 honda accord sport 1.5t 0 to 60 and how fast it goes. I think its 6 seconds but in the video I wrote 6.5 seconds lol. It's better than 8.3 seconds either way. I hope this was a fun video and stay tuned for more awesome content.

Question, I have a 1.5t with catback exauhst. I’m thinking of buying ktuner v2. Will i be safe to run it as is or do I need to buy an intake before throwing the tuner at it? Got the rev9 catback quad tips. Lmk asap help! Not going for numbers just more responsive. I planned on “if” I got the ktune. Keep it at the lowest tune map and then save for the intake before I decide to go to stage 2. Idk help

@KB&Y it’s from PRL catted downpipe, resonator and muffler delete. You don’t need a tune. You’ll get engine light after installing downpipe but it’s fine. It’s just fake light lol. People usually disable it with Ktuner when they tune their car. You get use to the engine light over some time haha.

I’m not a fan of dash lights so I’m looking for the best , safest, and cheapest way to get some nice pops to my car without it being wayyy to loud muffler wise . You think you can help me with that .
@KB&Y yea I get you then do just resonator and muffler delete, in sport mode you’ll get pops and paddle shifters you’ll get more pops. 💪🏽
Hey bro just one question you think the stage one dual tune on the ktuner would cause any problems on the cvt I’ve got the 1.5t sport and was really wanting to get a lil tune nothing too crazy just a lil scared of cvt issues popping up. Wasn’t rlly gonna move up to stage 2 tune anyways just wanted to know if stage one was “safe” 😂 lmk man if you can help.
honestly.. stage 1 is nothing and stage 2 you will feel some power but the tranny isn't reliable for any tune. :/

Hey man I got the same accord as you 1.5t idk if I should go with hondata or k tuner like which tuner gives better performance and a faster 0-60 time.
Ktuner is better, hondata is mostly for manual and for custom tuning.
I got the 1.5 turbo and idk how I feel about the cvt what do you think? I couldn’t get a 2.0t right now there like super low on stock in my state 🤦🏽♂️
1.5 is good for A to B. No tuning. Only body kit is fine.

Not worth it. Because the CVT tranny doesn’t have much space under the hood for the 10 speed auto. Might as well trade it in and get the 2.0t for 3-4K extra. 💪🏽

When you have a co passenger you carry an additional weight of 150+ lbs and it would reduce the 0-60 times

For every 100lbs you add, you hurt your time by ~ 1/10th of a sec.
Your are MOST definitely NOT zapping 0.5 sec just by not having a passenger...
So, if he got 6.5 sec w/ passenger, he would at most be at ~ 6.35 sec w/o passenger.
Same thing when ppl argue about full tank vs half tank...Ideally, yes , you want no more than 1/2 of tank but...
A full tank is adding ~90 lbs of weight (1 gal of fuel is 6lbs)...Accord 1.5t has a fuel tank of 14.8 gal.
1/2 tank vs 1/4 tank difference is ~22 lbs....it won't make a difference in the slightest.

@Drew yea it can handle like 50HP and some people do custom tuning to get like 80HP and end up messing up the tranny. I gotta upgrade to 2.0t man.

Hey i daily the 1.5t cvt sadly I also got a ktuner 2.0 can I tune the car to stage 1 and be fine? I don’t speed much spend most of my time in drive eco mode. Very important question. How is the CVT holding (assuming it is one) since they’re known for not being able to handle tourque and HP increase? And I’m honestly not sure if that’s true. But i have one and would really like to know because I want to mod mine as well.
Most of my friends have it tuned and they have no issues. They have it on stage 1. Over a year now. CVT can only handle 60HP lol I don’t know if you really want that 🤦🏻♂️ I wouldn’t tune it honestly. If you want a downpipe and an exhaust, then you’ll need Ktuner to disable the engine light from installing downpipe
just from simple bolt ons and tunes not going over 22psi they handle very well and have minimal problems they only break fi there's defects or underlying problems that haven't been addressed and repaired. if you don't go big turbo or build the engine for some serious power and are just doing simple bolt ons and aggresive tunign you're more likely to blow your engine then the cvt if you crank the psi too high. Without boosting the car to an insane amount you aren't making that much power on a stock block like 250-300whp max and that's a stretch, the cvt starts to have prooblems around 300whp, most people only hit 200-210whp from cai+exhaust+tune.
the cvt limits power too, hence why with the manual trans gets more power through mods and tuning, I know most people running ktuner 21psi map with 1.5t get around 215-220whp on the MT and around 200 on the cvt

How much did your hp go up with the stage 2 tune?
You gain about 50hp with all modifications. I wouldn’t suggest tuning the CVT because transmission won’t last long

I run stock, but you know what I noticed? Sport mode is so damn slow. Try reg drive. I beat most g35 and g37 all day!, massarattis, v6 mustangs challengers & chargers all day!, couple bmws and Mercedes, Silverado z71, scions and older muscle cars. xD 64k miles on 2018 Accord 1.5T sport. Don't use or like sport mode

@Dick Tator yea he did however he had a custom tune which was beyond stage 2 base map of the tune. I spoke to him. His went at 40k miles I think but I’m at 13k miles so another year and I’m turning it in. 😂 I’m done with CVT
the more in the future the development of CVT will always be better and stronger, for example, the Subaru linetronic can withstand torque loads of up to 400 nm++

I just got my girl a 2021 1.5 but I hate the Trans lol. And then I recently also got myself a 2015 touring v6.
Haha yea 1.5t good for the girl. And congrats on the V6 they are fast when modified. Sounds mean too
a 10 speed would be useless with a 1.5t engine, all the torque comes from the low inertia turbo and that's down low, gear changes would be very underwhelming and would need to be changing all the time, gears 6-10 would basically be overdrive gears. I think a 10speed is even overkill on cars like the ecoboost and that's a little under twice the power of this car, 8speed is good for most v6turbo's/smaller v8s and six speeds is usually the best middle ground for i4turbos, plus the research and development it would take for honda to not only make a 10speed would not only cost too much (and they'd have to make it super reliable too) but raise the price of the civic so much it would be undesirable compared to competitors,
I wouldn't mind if the 11th gen si had a package that would turn the manual into a 6speed dct borrowed from another company, that would be a lot of fun and raise their market share in the sports car segment since now people are looking at i4turbo cars and most people prefer automatic, the civic si has the correct formula to be a cool car but they would make a lot more money if they would let the si come with a good auto trans and reserve the type r for manual only.
The cvt is a great choice to keep for the majority of auto civics because they have actually made it reliable comapred to cvts a few years ago, and it does sport better fuel economy and a more predictable driving experience for commuters and people who aren't into cars.

6.5 is terrible lol. My Civic EX-L CVT was doing 5.6 with a Hondata tune, PRL Cobra, RV6 frontpipe & downpipe & muffler delete lol. I had a Sirimoto flex-fuel kit too but I don’t think that alone is enough to make it a full second quicker than these runs. Without E85 I was still doing high 5’s.
