सबसे पहले यह समझना ज़रूरी है कि कीट क्या है। कीट वह प्रजाति है जिसकी जनसंख्या नियंत्रण से बाहर हो गई है। आज पौधे पर सबसे बड़े कीट मनुष्य हैं। हमारी आबादी 150 मिलियन होनी चाहिए, लेकिन हम अब 8.3 बिलियन हैं।
यदि आप यह समझ सकते हैं कि मनुष्य एक कीट कैसे बन गया, तो आप यह भी समझ सकेंगे कि आपके बगीचे में कोई भी प्रजाति एक कीट कैसे बन जाती है।
हमारी जनसंख्या नियंत्रण से बाहर हो गई क्योंकि हमारे पास असीमित भोजन है और कोई शिकारी नहीं है।
आपके बगीचे में यदि किसी कीट को असीमित भोजन मिल जाए तो वह उत्तेजित हो जाएगा। यह उस फसल को खाता रहेगा और अंडे देता रहेगा। एक दिन, सभी अंडे फूटेंगे और आप देखेंगे कि आपका खेत कीटों से भर गया है। आप बाजार तक दौड़ेंगे और स्प्रे करने के लिए कुछ कीटनाशक लाएंगे।
पर्माकालचर में हम मोनोक्रॉपिंग नहीं करते हैं। हम छोटी मात्रा में और जमीन के छोटे-छोटे टुकड़ों में कई अलग-अलग फसलें उगाते हैं। इस तरह कोई भी कीट यह नहीं सोचता कि उसके पास असीमित भोजन है, और वह संयमित मात्रा में अंडे देता है।
सोचने वाली दूसरी बात यह है कि इन कीड़ों का शिकारी कौन है? इन कीड़ों को पक्षी खाते हैं। यदि आप अपने खेत में पक्षियों को आकर्षित करते हैं, तो वे प्रतिदिन लगभग 100-200 कीड़े खाएंगे और अपनी आबादी को नियंत्रण में रखेंगे। अपने खेत में पक्षियों को लाने के लिए, आपको देशी पेड़ लगाने होंगे।
इसलिए अंतर-फसलन करके और अपने खेत में पर्याप्त पक्षी होने से, आप प्राकृतिक तरीके से कीट प्रबंधन करने में सक्षम होंगे।

हम भी आप के खेती के जैसे ही आर्गनिक गती करते है. अभी ग्रीष्म कालीन मूंग की बोवाई करते समय मूंग के बीज के साध में थोडे धनिया और ज्वार के बीज मिकस करके बोवाई करी है. मूंग की जे लाईन के बाद दो लाईन चवली लगाई है.

Great discussion. I loved the correlation with over population; Bangalore’s recent water crises is an example and the fact that such rich cities are gobbling up villages to convert into concrete jungle.
I have a small space to grow veges and have been able to validate quite a few organic ways to manage pest- like corn meal for grubs, egg shells for slugs and snails. Had a bad infestation of spider mites last year because my region gets very dry in summers; I think I know a way and that might be to include more summer green vines that can tolerate heat but it’s just a guess. If you know anything please let me know.

You explain very well most aspects of farming. Unfortunately today most people think agriculture as a low profile profession despite knowing fully well the most basic requirement of all life forms is food..and it essential to grow food using safe ingredients. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are killing soil and bringing serious illnesses to human beings.

Why do you want to get rid of termite? First termite is a soil builder and decomposer. Second, you can actually never get rid of it! So best to accept their presence and give them the food they eat (dry wood) so they don't eat things of interest to you

They wont go by time. You need to stop doing monoculture, and have more trees for birds on your farm, so that the birds can eat the pests.

Hi, I have watched almost every video of yours. Curious to know two things:
1. Do you use anything as Jeevamrit, Ghan jeevamrit, dashparni etc? if not, what are you using ?
2. Are you getting same quantity of crop / area as other (no chemical) farmers? can it be done using permaculture ?
Answer to your questions
1. Jeevamruta sometimes
2. Our neighbours grow only 2 crops. We grow 150. So don't know how to compare our output with theirs.
