I'm glad the Today show is still playing gospel artists, and Carrie's one of the best IMO. God has gifted her with a great voice, and she's using it to honor Him. Great combo! :)
Is Today playing gospel artists? Doubtful. They are playing Carrie because she is a superstar who, in this case, is promoting her new gospel album. The Today show and NBC don't give two hoots about gospel music or those who sing it or those who believe its message.

Victory in Jesus is one of my favorite hymns. I do like how she sings this. I didn't realize she had done any Christian songs. Now, I will have to look into more of her music. Seek the old paths. Wisdom is found there.
Her very first song in 2006 that went to #1 on the country charts was Jesus Take the Wheel , stayed at #1 for weeks - her record company advised her not to release a Jesus song for her first release but she persevered and the song was #1 for 6 weeks on the country charts and started her on her road to fame. I believe she won album of the year over all genres for the massive sales she had with 'Some Hearts" , the name of the album. Others later were Something in the Water, Temporary Home, Just a Dream

I absolutely love her singing this particular song. It's one of my favorite hymns. The only thing that would make it better is if she would include the last verse as well. I grew up singing this song. In fact, I would request it every Sunday at church.
