  • James was born in a sleepy town
    Whispers and shadows all around
Air is full of salt and sand
Dances like dust over empty hands
Streets are lined with cobbled stone
Lamp lit windows lead to home
Dark are his eyes as the crumpled earth
Face of sky black as a curse
Stars burst and are given birth
    What is it James?
    What is it worth?
Is this the road I must travel down?
He exclaimed in an anguished frown
Birds do fly in their perfect pairs
    As the galloping ancient mares
Yet here am I under leaves that fall
Windblown and wistful in a frozen squall
    Shadows dancing under abundant night
Moments later James reached the door
Of everything he had come to adore
His beautiful wife and sweet little child
Stilled the storm that blew so wild
    James, dear...
    Do not fear
I'm always near under the leaves that fall
In the town of cobble stone
The sea air smells of home
    Weather worn in his overcoat
James set sail for eternity’s coast
