Kaiju evolving and becoming more humanlike, while human using their technology gaining kaijulike powers. Threading the line of what is kaiju and what is human.
18:50 yeah, kinda. the kaiju in the suits are more than just memories at times. sometimes, they seem like they are... alive. judging their users. judging if the user is worthy to use their strengths. sometimes, even bonding so much to its previous user that they judge if you can match their previous user. even limiting you if you are deemed unworthy. it judges you so much, that if you are deemed worthy, the more you can use the strength. (we see this with shinomya and her using her mother's armour). it's more clear with number 10. being is the most sentient compared to most armours. we saw this. when 10 and hoshina decided to fight as one. truly as one. fighting for the same reason. unleashing their full strength. improvising a new style on the fly.
The concept of Kaiju being around for centuries raises some interesting questions about this world’s alternate history. I hope the manga and the show explore that a bit.
I noticed regarding the Kaiju that caught my attention. When Kaiju no.9 appeared in episode 7, the way it prepared its ranged attacks reminded me of something, but for a while i couldn't remember what. After watching the intro to the series several times, I realized that the ranged attacks of Kaiju no.9 were basically a modified version of how slime mold disperses their spores. Add in the intro of the anime, depicting microbes from an undersea thermal vent being ingested by a fish who later is seen being several times larger than the others with it, and the cartridge that broke into the ooze that morphed into various kaiju we have seen in the series so far, i began to theorize as to the true nature of the kaiju. The kaiju, may in fact have originated from micro-organisms that evolved into something akin to a slime mold. But over time these viscous life forms adapted a terrifying ability, the ability to overtake and mutate other organisms to suit their needs. Basically like the Symbiotes from Spider-man/Venom. This can be evidenced by the fact that most Kaiju resemble real world animals with the additions of extra eyes, limbs, armor or humanoid features; the wyvern kaiju have beaks and hide coloration of a cockatiel, and in the end credits show a kaiju that looks like a mudskipper with frog legs and an octopus kaiju with multiple eyes all over its body. Add in the fungal kaiju, Kaiju no. 9's assimilation ability, you can see how this hypothesis seems plausible. So to wrap it up; it seems that the kaiju are animals that have been mutated by a para-symbiotic slime mold that modifies them to better survive. The question is, how did this odd living goo come to adapt this way and why are the kaiju attacking in the first place?
Yesss since i havent seen anyone point out how kafka did atomic breath homage when he 1st encounter #9 with the spike glowing up and all you made me crack a grin lol Also the current country wide invasion is just #9 dissing out free suits for 3rd platoon's new recruits
in the latest anime episode, no 9 also asked why no 8 came to this world as if the kaiju arent mutated beings and actually have another place they were from that is not earth which supports the similar origin as pacific rim theory
Idk where you're getting this "kaiju come from the sea" fact, but its just wrong. We've never gotten that as cannon in the manga, they just kinda pop up when they do, they're not all emerging from the ocan

damn man go be a scientist or something if your that smart
You explained this very well, it wasn’t like you were reading off a chart, you actually explained it as if we were having a conversation

That's the part I was looking forward to, seeing all the implications of a world that grew up dealing with this kind of threat

Godzilla is pretty much Kaiju --- and i am sure its inspiration for this series.
the Seeing the human face on the Kaiju in the intro, it looks like Kaiju were originally human.
Think of the power system as the god arcs from god eater specific to the user
Very cool video, just one correction: the term Kaiju is originally Japanese and doesn't come from Pacific rim
number 9 seems to be a learning kaiju
Please do a anime water, shasdow user
in the latest anime episode, no 9 also asked why no 8 came to this world as if the kaiju arent mutated beings and actually have another place they were from that is not earth which supports the similar origin as pacific rim theory

Umm ? Japanese anime have already did monsters attack the world .
Idk where you're getting this "kaiju come from the sea" fact, but its just wrong. We've never gotten that as cannon in the manga, they just kinda pop up when they do, they're not all emerging from the ocan
Edit:nd was and
bro kaiju no 1 have haki
Kaiju no.8 is just godzilla final wars mixed with ultraman along with some pacific rim and other shit
So the world of pacific rim with the plot of final wars with the main character being ultraman. Very accurate
Isn’t this show/manga pretty cliche?did I miss something? It had decent potential early then went to the expected routines of fighting monsters
hate from the netherlands
was intrested int he show until a say the defence force not interested in another highschool trash anime with the most generic mc's
The show doesn't explain anything about the power system and it's bad. It doesn't make any sense to anyone. It's just a list of bad tropes.
