Now it's easy to assume that James May just had professional help from people behind the camera when he modified his mates' cars. However I would like to present an alternate story. James May has been presenting car centered television for about 25 years. His job, combined with his natural curiosity means he might already have had some idea of how to rewire the lights, horn and such on a car. Out of spite, determination and strong vengeful spirit, he sat down and googled enough to fill in the gaps to create the perfect revenge er... _revenges_ It was most likely a group effort, but I do like the idea of Captain Slow patiently planning and executing his vengeance like an evil genius. No matter who helped him out (or not), his methods of revenge sure were brilliant. Clarkson's Dictator Carriage and Hammond's Noise Mobile sure made for a _grand_ humiliation parade.
@@Alfred-fu1ev is it scripted? obviously. but to call it all fake? loool you sound like someone that just figured out it's scripted and got disapointed xD :D doubt the crash was scripted, or the lake fall. there's some improvisation and obviuosly they plan some things. remember the "secret base"? wouldn't happen if it weren't planned. the location of workshops, the material needed for repairs, the proper authorization for filming and driving like that on the roads, obviusly it must be planned beforehand. and I do believe some things are known beforehand by producers and director and not by the trio. there are improvised scenes and stuff happens. but it's mostly obviously scrpited and whoever doesn't know that is just plain naive. and being scripted doesnt mean not funny... one of the funiest episodes they have made and one of the funniest shows.
