Just found your channel! Really really loving all your isopod content! It’s so relaxing. I’m a new pod parent 😂 so I’m excited to have a collection like you!
Love isopod videos! New collector here. I have a culture of Dairy Cows thats edging about 3 weeks in now, and expecting a Zebra colony tomorrow! My next option, I believe I want to be Porcellio Scaber Calico, I think thats the name 😁 im fascinated with the easy gender detection thing they're known for!
I can't wait to get my collection started. Shouldn't be much longer. For now I've got some more tarantulas and roaches to purchase first but isopods are on my list.
I see quite a few gnats in the video. How do you deal with them? I get gnats from the soil and it sucks... Do they eventually go away for you or are they a permanent nuisance? 😭
When I get an Influx of gnats I usually ad a ton more springtails to the enclosure and that usually helps out. Currently I don’t have as much as I use to but it’s harder to keep them out during summer then the other three months.
I appreciate the comment but with as many pods as I have it is not as easy to get every last one out but I do put the soils in the freezer and use it a fresh soil for my plants and terrariums i build. Fully self sustaining and successful if you ask me.
Clowns, Zebras, Dairy Cows, Blue/Orange Powdered, and last but not least Giant Canyons. These are my personal choice for the easiest species to start with.

Did you get your isopods yet?
@@asimo1931 I did. I have some Orange Powder and Blue Powder. Blues I think died. Started with 10. Lol. Orange are doing wonderful.

Basically you just kill isopods for no reason, when you can simply split in different bins the dirt and add new soil. Great "successful" change.
