Pirate's Curse is one of my favorite games of all time.
Hmm...I wonder what your thoughts on Half Genie Hero will be, since I know some people who think this is better. Understandable, but I don't quite feel that way

pirate's curse is my favorite in the series, the pirate gear was a love for me and the music OH MAN epic and the writing... i cant handle how amazing the game is. Half Genie Hero comes at a close second for me in terms of quality.... but in my opinion half genie hero is lacking in content but its still a good game though :)
I can see that. Personally I put both at #1 in terms of script and gameplay, as both master what they set out to do in my opinion, but I can easily see why pirates curse would be better for some. Course once all that sweet updates come out, including risky mode aka pirates curse 2.0, then to me there'll be no doubt half genie is the better game

Luckily, off of a code, I was able to download it for free on the Xbox One S, and I'm planning on playing it.
The first game made me interested in the Shantae but Pirate's Curse is what made me fall in love with her.

I downloaded this game for the PS4 during the holiday sale, not sure if I should watch this review yet since I might do a blind time to play for it.
This video has an unreasonable amount of thumbs down. Okay so I don't think I'll be doing a Time To Play of this but I did finish playing it a little while ago and...I think the gameplay is fine and the Pirates Mode gives me that extra replay value. However, humor is subjective just a reminder, but I didn't find it all that funny. Mainly because a lot of the jokes have to work with a large number of people being really stupid. Just my 2 cents.
See what we need now is remakes of the original games with this games flow. It would feel so much better, and possibly get more people interested in this series!

I definitely feel like Pirate's Curse was a step up in quality from the two games that came before it. I played the Shantae games in reverse order (aside from Half-Genie Hero), so I experienced the original last and... yeah I wasn't a big fan of it. If I had started with the first game I probably wouldn't have continued buying games in the series, so I'm glad I started with Pirate's Curse, and I can definitely agree with the points you've made about the games thus far.

around the 7-8 minute mark my favorite track of the game would had to be either Customer, Rewards, Shop theme and Desolate Domain Oubliette of Suffering. Customer Reward Shop theme to me feels like something you would hear inside an elevator when going up or down floors. Desolate Domain Oubliette of Suffering sounds so menacing and cool as it sounds like you're traveling to the world of Hell itself.

oh yeah, the fact that Shantae can whip her hair like that? is because in real life
people can actually hurt people with their hair lol XD
and yes it's possible, plus, Shantae using her hair as a weapon is also reference
to a game on NES called "Kabuki Warrior" and yes i've seen that Kabuki guy use
his hair for some mass destruction. XD
so after reviewing half genie hero will you return to it later when the Risky Boots, Sky, Bolo and Rottytops dlc come out?

This is actually the first Shantae game that I played.
what do you use to record and what mic do you use

Shantae has and always will be my very first time ever seeing the game
and not owning it..... due to money issues.... but there it was.... just beckoning
me to buy it! i regret it, seeing Shantae series and buying every single one of them
was breath taking, every single Shantae title was exactly how i imagine it going into
the game, the game's perspective on how i view the game is very simple like this:
Story: doesn't have to be too serious to get into the game, unless it's with a joke
slap stick that leaves you baffled with so many ideas that could lead to more to get
into it. overall, the story is fun to watch and enjoy over times.
Characters: meeting the characters of the Shantae Universe will always be that of a
nice genius idea given to those that know what i speak of, having met so many of the
cast of characters in this game is what sets it apart to a better off kick starter.
seeing how Risky is always evil and so dominating that sometimes you think you got
her figured out, and then does the impossible which makes you see a different side
of her and in a good way. Rottytops always a brain eating loving enthiusistic zombie
girl is always at heart but can sometimes be out of touch in reality, but you grow to
love her in ways that makes you believe, are there more characters like her in this odd
bizarre world.
meeting the Shantae's friends, Bolo, Sky and Uncle, which from time can be more into
nose diving into the adventures itself that just leaves you baffled to believe what your
actually hearing for the time.
that being said, each title that came out always add new flavor to the series and always
keeps you entertained to see what other characters you'll be seeing, and what new topics
are going to be like when you see it for yourself, and that to me has always been the
cherry ontop. this game is well traditionally well balanced and i like that about the serie.
so if you all don't get the shantae series, trust me it's like owning your own first comic
book that comes in addition flavors.
Shantae is that dam good!! XD

Risky Boots is screaming in fury.
i started off with pirets curse then gave the GBC one a shot ( put it simply i got lost in the 3rd dungion ) then gave risky's reveng and just at the end of 2016 got the latest of her adventures and its really fun can't wait for the next review

I got this game on the Wii U from a Humble Bundle that my friend gave me. Needless to say, I was very pleased.

The bosses are my only problem with the game tbh. They are fun, but they're not memorable compared to Risky's Revenge and Half Genie Hero
