Every time I think of a messy crafters desk, I remember the movie 'Yours, Mine and Ours' Denis Quad. The mother who is a crafter has a wild messy desk and room. All the combined children did a massive clean-up of mother's room, and she had a melt-down when she saw her room. It is a romantic comedy.
Dearest Pam, my current "hobby" is watching craft videos. I stumbled across your making junk journals out of old books series last week and I'm now addicted...to You! I doubt I will ever Make a junk journal but I adore your personality and the techniques you share! Thank you for sharing those and your marvelous self (and Holly). You've made me laugh more in the last few days than I have in ages! I truly LOLd @ the "ink well" bit! 😂💖
Pam, I am watching this more than 7 months after you made it, and I am laughing up a storm! I loved what you showed us with the collage masterboard. The gel pens had me rolling on the floor. "How freaking weird is that?!"
The pink/gold pen is supposed to show gold border around a pink line. Try writing you name with it. When you colored in the leaf, you made many lines and the all got gold borders, which made a puddle of gold without much room for the pink.

I have a masterboard hanging on my wall. It's been there a few months. I just haven't taken the time to cut it up. The gold/pink pen may be a Sakura Gelly Roll Shadow. They have them with both gold and silver undertones. The other colors are supposed to be show through, but the gold/silver overpower it. From demonstrations I've seen, they work best for writing rather than coloring. Thanks for sharing!

When the gelly roll pens that turn metallic dry, you can erase the metallic and they will be the original color.

Lol Pam you make my day. I love collaging and have been using an A4 drawing pad to collage on so that when I want to use a page I just tear it out the book to make ephemera. I'm no professional but hey love the fun.

Fabri-Fix is absolutely worth the few extra dollars it costs. My favorite glue used to be Aleene's tacky, and I still like it, but Fabri-Fix is my absolute favorite. I enjoy watching you make use of what many would consider garbage. I love to use what would otherwise end up tossed in the trash bin.
YES! Our Congo Grey is not at all ashamed to tell you when you have pushed your limits, lol. I have the scars to prove it after 26 years. I wouldn't change a thing though. I knew going into it that being bitten on occasion is all a part of the relationship. He is worth every moment. A perpetual tantrum throwing, messy food chucking, wood chomping, destructive, noise machine that I adore. The day he came as a 12 week old I laid down the law that there was to be no swearing around him. Not going there....
Our Orange-Winged Amazon is the exact opposite of our grey. He loves children. He yells until he gets to go crawl up in their lap and be loved without a second of irritation. My little cuddle bug. What would I do without them?

i make these, i call them my glue board. as i use the mat as my glue mat. works wonders. when i need to glue something i use it.

I have found that sometimes when the material is already shaded with a certain color....and,
The gel pen of that same color comes out gold/silver due to that gel pen being a metallic color....
This could possibly be the reason.
I have had similar results, at times.

Gelly roll makes pens that have either silver or gold in addition to the ink color. They are called gelly roll shadow.

If being a neaty peaty is a must, clip one corner of the tag and then use the cutoff to guide the other corner cut. Close to the exact same size on each side.

This looks so fun to do! Right now my craft desk looks like yours. My husband bought me an L shaped desk so I could have 2 places to do my crafts and now I have 2 messy desks instead of one. I do clean up occasionally. But I have really learned not to throw away scraps. I never thought about doing anything with them before. So thank you for showing me what can be done with scraps! I use an old credit card like thing (membership to someplace that gives out cards) to spread my gesso ;)
Journaling is so messy , I’ve got stuff upstairs & down to try & hide messes ,but it’s the only way to design junk journals , thanks so showing all the stuff...

I’ve enjoyed ur videos immensely and just wanted to share a happy encounter with gesso I dry brushed it over a collage and it just lightly kissed all the uneven imperfections and textures and gave it just a touch of aged/ whitewashed effect. Thanks for the inspiration and company during this crazy times

Your desk is like my craft room at the moment. It’s so jacked up I can’t even work in it. I just walk in and turn around because I don’t want to think about what it’s going to take to clean it up. Today may be the day tho.

The Crafty Realtor I can so relate! I moved my craft room to our former huge theater room. Dear hubby is supposed to be making me shelving, so I remind him once a week to no avail. In the meantime, it’s a disaster; you can’t organize without a place to put anything! I think I am just going to get some wood and my hammer...
Jaide Hazelwood , that is really my problem, I have such a small room that I have used up every inch, including the closet so I, either going to have to patch up what isn’t getting used to make room for more or I’ll need to start de stashing and sell some stuff. Either way, I’m just going to have to get in there and do it.
After being my knee joint replaced in 2012 I asked my 16 year old "blossoming artist"Neice, to please organize my craft room while she was helping me out for a couple weeks post up. Well...she reduced its content by almost 30%. I obviously underestimated her ability to let go of things but after my shock wore off I realized how great it all looked. Haven't let her clean anything except my fridge since. Good luck with the clean up.

Always fun to watch you. I love the process and outcome of the Master Board. I believe you can print it too before you use it, to have on hand for another projects, specially since is a unique handmade art piece!
BOARD?.. All aboard for the ride. Jump in and start cutting. S o many goodies you can make. What I do I put gesso on a piece of wax paper and I stamp it here and there. Very nice effect. Hope you understand what I mean. SWEEt DREAMS Pamaroo. Hug xox :-)

My daughter is in the hospital with Linnis. My son in law is home with the other two kids. with covid no visits allowed. When I am so overwhelmed I love your video's hearin your voice. Good morning sweet Pam and Holly and friend. Happy Fourth of July. Love the use of hour master board. Such a great way to use up those scraps. I know the feeling of losing something in my sewing room. Yesterday I was making a block and I was looking for what I had just done and low and behold it was still on my machine.
