Montreal Bus #55-001 GM Classic - Detroit Diesel Power Compilation

Spent the day aboard (and tagging alongside) a heritage Montreal transit bus #55-001, a 1985 General Motors Classic bus. Now preserved and restored and in beautiful shape. Enjoy the sounds of this Detroit Diesel 6v71 motor.
Note: Sorry for the sun glare, it was an extremely sunny and warm mid-October day in Montreal, and I can't complain because the photos taken today were absolutely stunning!

I like the classic numbered 55-001

I remember when these first came out in 84 . The most beautiful busses ever . Then the Nova busses came out , what a disappointment

The Vivaldi of diesel engines. Although, I like the New Look better, I think the 71 engine sounds better with the Classic.

Is it just me or that engine of the classic 55-001 sounds like a mci coach?

It's very close. Most of the older MCI Coaches used 8v71 motors, and this one is a 6v71. So the MCI coaches had a slightly deeper growl sound to them.

Sadly the last Classic model bus in Montreal was retired in 2012. Thankfully the last bus built for Montreal in 1995 was preserved, as well as this 1985 model.

ICHIJI VINSMOKE sadly no this bus was retired in 2004-2005 I think

The GM Classic was retired in 2005. Then the Novabus Classic was retired in 2012. Which was the last high floor bus ever used by the STM.
