- How to glue napkins with NO WRINKLES! This quick tip shows you how to glue napkins with zero wrinkles and without using plastic wrap or plastic bags (which emit harmful fumes.)

The technique can also be used with tissue paper, pattern paper, and fabric! I like to do do this with book pages and then turn them into ephemera for my junk journals - envelope, tags, and journal cards. I usually stitch around the edges to make sure things will continue to stay attached over time.
This is great for pages for your junk journals, pockets, journal cards, envelopes and more!

**Separate napkin to single layer**
*** Mod Podge or matte medium on one side of paper then apply napkin to the side with the glue.

I love this tip, last night i painted up some music paper, and dictionary pages with glue, then this afternoon i spent less than 15 minutes and i have a large stack of decopauge papers ready to go! This tip deserves it spelled out!

Hi Susan, I absolutely love this idea because I’m not a big fan of wrinkled napkins and it seems to be the easiest way to get smooth napkins. I recently bought some 1950’s Harpers Bazaar magazines and found that the paper was too thin and fragile for glue sticks and wet glues took off some of the print so this will be perfect! Hi Susan, This is a wonderful method. I have never done the plastic wrap method because of the toxicity plus plastic bags hopefully will be eliminated eventually. I have used the parchment (we call it baking paper and it is silicone coated) for ironing , not so much to protect my iron because it's already gunked up, but to protect the fabric or paper I'm ironing. lol. A good way of using up a few more of those book pages. This would also make a good book cover fabric if you have a large enough book pages. It would be similar to the book cover fabric you can buy. xoxo

I can’t imagine heating plastic bags knowing how many toxic petro chemicals are in there. I normally use wax paper and iron on the napkin (single ply). Wax melts and napkin adheres easily with no wrinkles and gives it a lot of strength to it. I’ll try book pages with mod podge. Hoping I’ll find ideas to use these paper backed napkin pieces in your other posts! Tfs! 😊

What a great idea!! I have had uneven results with napkin wrinkles, and found out one reason just by accident that I got wrinkles. The napkin had 3 layers. I had tried and tried and finally decided there were only 2. Wrinkles! The next time I used that napkin, I finally got the 3 layers separated. and got great results. Well I have never understood why some people rave about mod pod get S a decoupage medium as I have never been able to use it without getting streaky results. But using it in this way excites me and I can't wait to try it. Dollar Tree sells small bottles for a dollar so I can check it out I expensively. Thank you very much for this video however must let you know it was very hard to hear.

Thank you for sharing this ingenious way to adhere napkins, tissue, etc wrinkle-free! Mine always end up wrinkled, I've used wet glue. Like you say, sometimes wrinkled is good, but sometimes you don't want the wrinkles. I can't wait to try this new method!

Thank you SO MUCH .... I've had modge podge for years but the humidity here in Queensland (Australia) makes it impossible to use because of the 'sticky' finish ... now I can finally get some use out of it! BRILLIANT.
The fabric is awesome! I'm such a new bee🐝 I've been using a wool mat to iron and wow!!! What an amazing difference! Well with fabric doing quilted cards. I do like the mat medium. Hello!!! Where have I been??? I also got a box of new partchment paper by the sheet. Love it. So do up a bunch of paper with the mod podge like avacado dying coffee tea what ever ( I prefer organic dying) anyway, this is the # 1. Best idea ever. Being unwell for so long and building a house selling a house yadi yadi, I've had the opportunity to watch videos from the begining of time!! Yes including your flip book, "A book always has time" I've not made one, but I will. It's in my "notes" 12/19 - today.
This is great!! I’m trying to make cards for people. I tried the other methods but it wasn’t working well! I’m so glad to see this video . Now I can try this method on my cards! Great idea!
I will be trying a selective process draw out line of what you want to adhere with friction pen painting mod Podge within area, let dry then iron on flat applied pieces, fabric, paper, etc --marks made with Frixion pens disappear when heat applied. Mid Podge dried very quickly too on my tests yesterday.

Great idea and easy peasy! Much safer than adhering with plastic as well and more thorough than glue stick! Super less messy than decoupaging! TFS the inspiration and creativity!
What a great idea, I was never a fan of melting plastic wrap either! And I have so much mod podge to use up because I brought some every time it was on sale then I used it on my art journaling and all the pages stuck together so I gave up on it. Thanks for finding a useful way to use it.
