I stopped telling people to prep a long time ago. My advice always fell on deaf ears. I showed my mom my working pantry in hopes it would inspire her to want to start her own. I even offered to pay for the 1st round of food and she told me there's no reason for anyone to have that much food on hand and that she'll just run down to the food bank when she runs out. I gave her a thumbs up and told her good luck with her plan and when she comes by looking for food I plan on telling her that she was right and I got rid of everything because there was no reason for me to have all that food 😆
I'm blessed to have a like minded spouse, but our children are scattered nation wide. They aren't prepping. We're hoping if shtf, they'll be able to get here, so we're planning for that.
My husband is weird about it. I've prepping for quite some time now. One minute he's kinda ok with it and other times he thinks I am totally nuts
Sounds like what I do in my head.
Mine is the same. Plus, the more I bring in, the more he eats.
@@catwashere413 hide it. If hes a big eater he'll thank you later.
Mine, too. WHY??
I lost my prepper wife 6 years ago and have continued on my own. Never expected to be a lone wolf, but people need to realize that during SHTF , you need to expect that scenario. My relatives have their heads buried deep in the sand and think I have wasted money, time and effort that could have been used elsewhere.
I’m sure if you told them you felt that way about their TVs and fancy clothes… they will go to your house when things happen
I bought toilet paper on christmas and since then now first time I see toilet paper at the same price. I took one large pack and day later it's gone from shelf. Have searched more but it's done. Best investment I ever had. Most relatives buy at 2x price
@@americafirst9144 Thank you.
If they don't prep, they are on their own. Good luck
I have been at this for quite a while. My husband snd grown daughter & fiancé
all think I am nuts. My husband yells at me to stop. He & my daughter gang up on me & call me a hoarder. I have enough for all of them. Hubs won’t allow me to get a solar generator as we “don’t need that crap.” I am diabetic & worried about keeping insulin cold. I have enough insulin for a long time. Thank you for taking care of your mil. You are a good man. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. God bless you.
Im right there. They all think I'm nuts. Tough. If they can't make it then that's on them. When the door closes its closed.
I feel the same, I've given them all the information and education, best I can do.
Even for closest loved ones ... I will have to do the same.
Perfect timing, l just sent my kids (again) a list of things to start stocking up on. The reply is
"We will be ok mum stop stressing"
My family has accepted my stock piling, canning, dehydrating and freeze drying. I do hear their comments sometimes, however, I know they will be grateful when it gets really bad, worse than what we are experiencing now. As far as my friends, I don't talk about what I am doing. I do ask them if they have some gallons of water and some food for just in case. We are on the east coast and hurricanes do happen. They have no clue as to what my family has.
I’m blessed that my wife “gets it.”
For those who are married to someone who doesn’t, start slowly, focus on storm prep definitely
Prepping for adverse weather is how I got some folks slightly more prepared than they would otherwise be, also got a bunch of people into drinking water filtered at home through countertop water purifiers to avoid the scale in tea kettles and remove horrible bleach smell/taste from chlorinated city water
I only started last year! Still can't believe that I didn't know about prepping. My life would have been different. But at least I've started. Most people in my life including family won't.
I had expired canned food and my oldest threw it all away ,😩. So after that , I made sure to take it to the storage building before. I had kept them in case of emergency. just hated that so much was thrown out . But I still have been prepping a while . I fill up 2liter bottles with water and have life straws for each of us . I can't afford a walter purifier unit . I'm hoping to get one one day ,❣️ and a solar generator! One day maybe!
Make one. 2 5 gallon buckets, a spicket and 2-4 filters. Cheap to make. Drill holes. Put together and test.
I live with my daughters an lil family, she thinks I'm crazy, but I see her now buying extra. Dam kids they do listen!!
@@saraimata06 Thank you !
@Mistyle Terry
You're welcome. Watch some youtube videos on how to do it too.
Not family, people I know, think we are crazy. Call me a bad person, but they are in big trouble !!!!! FAMILY FIRST.
Great video on an important topic. No one I know is even prepping, some of them on a small scale but their efforts are minimal. I've come to accept the fact that, since I have a conscience and standards, I'll have to take them in, but I plan on utilizing them according to their abilities, if they won't fall in line I may have to go against my principles and forget I have any. I've been mentally preparing for that situation as well.
I don't know if anyone can prep mentally for what's coming. Biblical scale famine with scenes like from the film, the road. People that have already got ptsd from being in severely traumatic situations before the shtf situation may fair better than others.
When I started prepping 10 years ago I shared with my family of what I was doing but they literally started laughing at me and told me that I needed to stay off of CZcams and quit listening to all the BS, so me being me I told them yeah keep laughing but I promise you won't be laughing long. I continued prepping and listening to preppers on CZcams but when the pandemic started they got worried and it was a real eye opener for them. Gradually they started asking me how I got started prepping and I shared everything I knew with them and low and behold they started stock piling food, water and medical supplies, there's been several times that they would say I wished I had of listened to you sooner and I would say yeah me too. Not everyone in my family is on board with it but that's because their not woke just yet but it won't be long but I did my part and now it's up to them, I've been prepping for my whole family for the past 10 years and what I have is their's too.
I love the reply, from friends and acquaintances" i will just come to your place for food" to which my response is" i got guns too"
@@irocsilver627 Exactly
I bought my home in 2001. 1000 feet from my house is a natural high output well that sells water for 25 cents a gallon to the public. I heat my home with a wood stove, about 5 cords a year, which I go out and get myself on weekends, all set for this winter. I purchased 2 three months of survival food from 4-patriots last winter. My cupboards are jammed packed and I have plenty of self protection devices that I can access at a moments notice. But I’m still worried that myself and my children are in some very challenging times ahead. God help us all.
I don't prep for my family other than the ones I birthed. I haven't spoke to my siblings in years. Just bc we share the same parents doesn't mean they're good people so - no. Even if we did get along, it would be a no. I have 5 sisters. They each have husbands, grown children, & a couple have a grandchild. Their grown children have partners.
That's a minimum of 33 extra lazy mouths. More if they want in laws to come with them.
That takes away from mine which totally defeats the purpose I've prepped. I prepped for mine not hers, his, & theirs. Prepping for "family" is truly not a concern for me.
I've stopped caring what others think.
It's so much easier.
Good video , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Great topic.
Yep my whole family thinks i am nuts. Especially my spouse. I have my colman stove from around 1970, came in handy during hurricanes Laura and Delta when power was out almost 2 months. Just recieved 4 extra ceramic filters.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER
PRAISE GOD THE SON
PRAISE GODS HOLY SPIRIT
BLESSINGS AMEN AMEN
Absolutely 💯 have an awesome week
Pragmatic advice with real-world examples, thank you!
My husband thinks my prepping is just a crazy new hobby. He's onboard as long as I'm buying food or bottled water. I want a manual pump in my well, he ask why. I told him never mind, buy the equipment and hook it up when we need it. My husband sisters aske me to teach them to forage last winter, this summer they're not interested. Go figure
For everyone deemed crazy for prepping realise this. From my experience everyone who thinks preppers are crazy are the same people who trust their government. Nicely put a bunch of fools. Keep doing what your doing. Live withing your mean so dont spend your everything on any one source of news. If theres a natural disaster all the naysayers will suddenly be expecting all YOUR preps and that goes with anything like that. Keep going. Learn and adapt. Stay safe yall god bless you
I'm prepping for my kids, my granddaughter, my ex-husband because he does everything for me. And my mom. I'm preparing to have cervical surgery next Wednesday for possible cancer and am hoping I'm not laid up for weeks without money. I'm making two 5 gallon water filters also. Just in case.
(>")>🍜
Here some soup for after your surgery. Feel better
Thank you!
Hit that Like folks--let’s help Survival Living get past this YT algorithm.
I hate feeling alone doing this
Money is already tight and family in my house don’t want to spend money on prepps despite me having food stuffs and we can rotate that, wife just want to use food stuffs I have and not replace. So prepping is tough.
I'm not buying shit for my mother-in-law! I wish she were a hundred miles away.
Well I have a wonderful Mother-in-law
Your funny!!🤣🤣
Thank you! It’s a great starter solution!
Very important subject!!! I am doing exactly what you said. My mom can't afford to really prep so I took on her as far as preps. Luckily she lives downstairs from me. Other than that all I can do is instill in people to prepare. I try where I can. Awesome video bud!
I know you are brother and it's awesome what you have been doing for your family survival and protection 👍
@@SurvivalLiving I be wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for you my man.💯 I've been watching you for the better part of the past 3 years and picked up on it quickly. I really do appreciate your videos 🤙
My pleasure 😁 definitely glad I had released some information that helped someone. Keep up the great work brother
How awesome for Mother In Law to have you! A whole kit to sustain her till you get their. Yes you are, your a great Son In Law. And, she raised a great daughter to pick a great man. Bless all of you…✝️
Great topic. My family isn’t prepping and they are not even open to the idea. Prepping can’t even come up in the conversation.
Thank You...God Bless
When I met opposition from my spouse, I did it anyway. Imalways wore him down. Nown3 years in, he sees things aren't getting any better, but will continue to deteriorate, he's adding his own ideas.
When I got relatives from out of state scratchin on my screen door after the SHTF that thought I was a moron for preppin, all I can say is TO BAD, SO SAD!!!!!!
Yep we do this for my family. As none will help themselves
I have been giving my close family care packages for Christmas and birthdays 🤣 also fun things but at least I know they have what I give them, and it’s also things they always use!
Very awesome 👍
@@SurvivalLiving thank you 😊
Most of my family never pays attention but they and I know that when the wagons get circled they will meet with me. Some of them do small certain things but I do the heavy lifting in the prep world
I definitely see why you mother in law loves you. You are a good man! 👊🏻❤️🇺🇸
We need another video on how important the ebike is. I have one and charge it off solar👍
Really great preps for MIL. I would like to add the following for those prepping for their elderly. Do they have dentures, hearing aids, incontinent issues? You might need extra hearing aid batteries, denture glue, adult diapers or waterproof sheeting. Also some Imodium, laxatives and pepto as the change of diet can be very hard on them. Pain meds for arthritis.
Me and my sister have at least four soyer filters I just talked her in to buy a good water filter system so we got them at the same time hers covers her kids and husband mine Is for me due to the lose of my mother recently who lived with for the last 15 years after she lost everything but I did make sure my filter can handle at least 5 people
Awesome video! Much respect getting your M-I-L set
Up!! You’re a good, solid dude CFP and are about something-Hats off from Southeastern Kentucky!!!
Much appreciated my friend 👍
I enjoy watching your videos.
A'HO! THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN FOR HOW YOU PRESENT YOUR MESSAGE.
Thanks again CFP I always appreciate your efforts and products you show and describe so we know which one or ones to purchase, thanks for telling me about the $20 water filter at Walmart I can't afford the expensive ones but that I can. Much Love may God bless you and yours.
Hello, I prep for of course for my kids an grand babies, everyone thinks I'm crazy, it doesn't matter so I just prep for my friends an tell them I wont help them if shift. ( but I will)
We got rid of friends and family and moved to the country. We just got sick of family telling us that we were crazy and decided to leave them behind. A good percentage of people will end up doing the same if you're prepping. Don't try to convince them as they obviously like to remain stupid. The only advantage to family is you don't need enemies!
You can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink it. Good information without a doubt.
Very good. For my parents birthdays and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, I’ve been gifting them items. They aren’t aware of such items and I knew wouldn’t order them. They’re ok on the food and water front. Next up is my son and his wife.
I took a lot of food to my youngest child’s home. She yelled at me. I told her to put it in the basement.
Depending on distance, maybe a handheld ham radio in a faraday bag.
.
My mother in law lives 10 minutes away, my husband (her son) refuses to deal with his family because his mom called me the N word😂🤣🤣🤷🏾♀️ Guess who is still preparing for that side of the family? Me!!! So much for being a N word 😂🤦🏽♀️🤷🏾♀️❤ God said love so I'm gonna keep loving and preparing. THANK YOU For this great information kind Sir. I can't imagine any of our loved ones going without. God bless you and yours 🙏🏽
That's sweet of you :)
That stroganoff is pretty good for a freezedried product! I don't it usually say much but I gotta say that it was 👍. Great video brother, some people just cannot be reached.....
My immediate family yes prepping. My friends and relatives nope.
I know the feeling I have family member that has a ND dose through away some preps because of their dates and also. states " you'll be eating it by your 'self
I’ve been prepping alone for nine people. They don’t see what coming.
I am blessed my husband supports me in everything I do my mom buys extra’s but my adult children that live at home. They think I am nuts and really don’t help me much. But I just do what I can do
You have to just prep anyway. If you do as they wish you will pay the price at some point.
Your awesome, I wish you were my son or soninlaw, bless you.
my family feels that I'm crazy..... im ok with that...HB
Funny my mil said all my hubby and I do is buy food and pew pews. Well guess who wanted help when she did not have food
I have 2 propane tanks the same size as the 4 you showed us.
I’m not sure where to keep them. Is it safe to keep them indoors?
"What do I do?" Kiss them goodbye.
BINGO!
Truth is, most people want to be mushrooms... Kept in the dark and fed lots of sh!t. I personally love the argument, from people that" they have been saying the end is nigh, for 60yrs." Imagine!!! To have head up azz that far!!!
If I wanted to be prepared to help feed a nearby relative or friend who has made the decision to not be prepared, I would stock up on inexpensive, bland, high-calorie foods such as dried beans, spaghetti pasta and white rice. During hard times, I would only open the front door to someone I trusted, no one would be allowed to cross the threshold and I would be openly carrying. And I would discuss security rules with our household members, so we are all in agreement on how to deal with people who show up on our doorstep.
If the unprepared relative or neighbor came to me and asked to "borrow" some food, I would offer one pound each of dried beans, pasta and rice. It would be up to them find a way to cook these foods for their household. The food would be passed through the security bars that protect my front door. They would have to eat their cooking mistakes or do without or barter the dry food with someone for prepared food -- not my problem. Every mentally competent adult should know how to cook basic foods.
If they came back a second time, I would ask them to stop by tomorrow after I have bought or traded for more food and, the next day, I would offer them another three pounds of the same bland, dry food in exchange for their labor or a cash payment of what these foods originally cost me. I would be very, very careful to never give anyone the impression that I have plenty of food.
People do not appreciate what is free. They appreciate what costs them something to obtain. And I believe the best teacher is to experience the consequences of one's poor choices. Saving a person from experiencing the consequences of their bad decisions just teaches them that someone will always rescue them from their poor choices and that is not doing them a favor. I believe that people who fail to prepare during good times should experience some inconvenience and worry during bad times. How else will they learn to do better if they do not experience consequences? Tough love motivates self-improvement.
Disown them
Excellent information - have you heard anything about this "September 24th" event that some people are talking about???
Yes I have, I don't see anything happening. From my research in it, it was a misspoke during the speech. Alot of people only hear what they want and ignore the rest of the speech 👍
Thank you for this! I am the only one I know of who is prepping in my immediate and extended family & friends. I do it 'on-the-down-low' as there is a great deal of ignorance in my country as to what is going on in the rest of the world. Our supermarket shelves are definitely dwindling in supply & prices are going up and up, but they are trying to hide the gaps by putting out Halloween and Christmas decorations super early!! The only way I have been able to get my partner onboard (to spend extra $$ on prepping), is to say that I am crazy & obsessing over "prepper videos" and that he should tolerate my behavior as one day he will thank me "as the zombies approach the house and I can still cook him a steak"...he just smiles and laughs. I convinced him we needed to buy a large deep freezer (to store the steaks!), which we got yesterday, much to my relief! He refuses for me to buy a pressure canner as he watched someone get steam burned by one as a child...but I will figure out a way to get one as I am worried that worldwide supply of them will dwindle. I am going into spring/summer in my country. I plan to install solar, buy a generator, (we already have a large water tank), replace our gas fire with a 'real' one before anyone else figures it all out before autumn next year, buy wood, etc! I have worked hard to prep my veg patches, I have a list of foods to grow, how much we will need to harvest, to dehydrate, (I recently, quietly, bought a dehydrator) & how much to can for next winter (2023). I have been buying Heirloom seeds and seedlings so I can re-use the seeds - (not something that is widely shared with the greater community). I feel that, in this country, we have a reprieve...we have 5-6 months to get our houses in order as we enter spring and summer...I buy something every single time I shop...flour, yeast, sugar, salt, cans of food...I ensure I buy something, anything, even if it's just one packet of flour, and a roll of deodorant 'on special', anything that will help us get through 2023. I also bought a Foodsaver machine and oxygen absorbers to store foods and have bought a variety of jars for canning. I have also just started withdrawing cash, which I've no doubt he's going to notice soon!! I pay off a little bit more off the credit cards when due. I do not discuss the extreme extent of what, I believe, is imminent for my country next year...I watch, learn, buy, store, plant, grow, buy books, learn skills, have created my own 'how to' book based on our ancestors & I quietly panic...I have just gone on blood pressure medication as my BP is high...I didn't even share with my doctor what's got me so stressed! I believe that every day in every way we can prepare...and so I do. And if it turns out that I didn't need to do this, then we will have food and cash as we enter into our retirement, and I can lower my blood pressure and get off my medication!
Thanks for your videos and hard work hopefully you can get down to your mother in laws and pluck her out of the house and back to safety before anything horrible goes down. Road blocks and stuff possible in the road from what ever say a tornado or bad storm will be a big factor too. What about a motorcycle or dirt bike and have gas at her house to refill pick her up and extract out of their.
We dry run everything. My channel I do... I don't just sit and philosophy everything
