The day before you join your cruise ship can be so stressful. you have to say good buy to your loved ones at home, get on up to 3 flights to get to the country where you will be joining your ship, find your hotel and then start your cruise ship contract. There is so much to do so, in this video we are going through 'the day before' step by step and ill give you some tips to make it less stressful.

You described pre covid I'd say it will be a lot different when we all eventually go back.
With Disney, they book your flight and hotel and provide transport to the port that gets all joining crew members to the port in time for disembarking crew to leave.

I think one of the other main reasons for difficulty sleeping is if you have flown from UK to Sydney and arrived in the afternoon Sydney time, then your body clock is going to be rubbish for that night, knowing you have to be up at 7am or so Sydney time next morning.
I would recommend something that helps you to sleep

Usually they give you a ticket like you said with alot of stops or wait time. One trip was less than 5000 miles but they booked me over 12000 miles . Another trip I ended up going to Sydney from the east coast via Tokyo. They try to get you there the day before nthe cruise and have a hotel with alot of joining crew. In this case all crew members gobin their bus to the ship. I have even been picked up occasionally and taken to the hotel
On the assumption that you are not the ONLY crew member arriving for the ship at the hotel wouldn't it make sense to try to contact one (or more) of the new crew members and try to share a ride to the airport?
Can you tell us about yourself? Life at home ? Big family? Jobs you have had? ect.
What are some crew jobs for someone with experience working with kids or teaching background?
each ship has a different name for it but most do have activities for children -- if that is what you enjoy -- you may want to look into this type of position:-)
