This is the first time I tried a Bouguereau. He lived in the 19th century and so I took pigments from this time. For example my lead white I mixed 50/50 with zinc white and used also colours like prussian blue.
Bouguereau usually started on a grey ground. Next time I will try this.
The clips I filmed with two mobile phones. The start and the end is made with a Huawei P30 pro, the middle part with an Iphone 11 Pro Max. I was surprised about the bad quality from the Iphone when I watched on a bigger screen. After this I changed back to the Huawei.
The last picture shows my painting in real colours.
A lot you asked me, which brand of paint I use. I make my own paint. It´s made of pure pigment and linseed or safflower oil in organic quality. There are no fillers in like plaster, chalk, baryt or wax. Also there are no additional things in like siccatives. Only the pure pigment und oil, like the Old Masters did.

The painting is amazing, but the background music is what i assume would play when u see a documentary about two jaguars making deep long love in the jungle
bruhhhh 🙄🤣
@@chilloutcafe9523 Chill out
It put me to sleep lol
HAHAHA
You end your videos with this: "Thanks for watching." To which I say: " Thanks for sharing. ". The video was instructional, and towards the became exciting.
Yes!! FINALLY, someone who actually knows what they're doing!! Thank you!!
Man you’re talented! God bless!
Stunning skills and classic techniques.❤
I wonder what 58 people didn’t like in this video. I think they are envious because they can’t even start sketching a painting like that.

Me: ‘I’m pretty sure Bougereau used a grey gr-- ohhh, there it is.’ 😚👌🏼
Marvelous! I would love to see a video of yours with some commentary. Cheers!
surprenant tout ce blanc !
lindissimo trabalho parabens
Speechless!💐
Danke schön 😁
Interestingly according to Virgil Elliot, Bouguereau did not follow the Venetian method of Grisaille + colored glazes but started with a flat wash of a slightly too saturated fleshy mid tone and then added semiopaque greyish shadows and highlights on top. But this looks very nice nonetheless!
Everything looks nice on camera
Beautiful portrait, I want to learn this painting technique, your videos help me.
j s so you saying you cant learn how to do something? We are on this earth for roughly 80 years, but the only people that can paint like this are people that “have it”? Thats kind of a stupid outlook, unless im misunrderstanding
Thats like saying you want to learn compose music like Mozart. You either have the capacity for that level of talent or you don't. You're born with it or you aren't. Otherwise you're just mediocre with the potential to improve a little but will never reach the levels of those masters.
@ don't play God !
@ you will get what I mean if you are a smart ass like you tried to sound with your previous comments. Cheers ✌️👍
Lindo demais parabens pelo trabalho artístico. . Grande abraço Brasil
Отлично получилось
fantastico
bravo! tu as extrêmement bien retranscris la caractéristique des personnages de Bouguereau, c'est à dire la lumière qui s'émane de leur être, chose très difficile
روعة❤
Hello! Greetings from México, i speak spanish so i hope you excuse my grammar mistakes. I'm 19 years and i'm an architecture student, but painting is one of my favorite activities. I've seen all of your videos and belive me, I'm amazed with your techique, i got many questions about this and other of your paintings, i'd be pretty glad if you answered me. In the case of this portrait do you completely let dry the layer of black/white/gray tones to apply the skin tones? or you continue painting the layer of "colors" when the base is still fresh? Do you have any social networks? i would love to follow you. Thank you very much!
Yes, I let always the layers dry completely. There is no wet in wet painting. Everytime the position of the camera changes a bit it´s a new session. Here there were about 9-10 short sessions at all.
I have social network accounts but don´t spend much time with it for the moment. Like more to paint and sit on the easel.
@@oldmasterpaintings5070 Hi,
What are the types of colors used for this painting ?
Thanks
Marvellous....need demonstrations in detail to follow the techniques that are applied as the work is beautiful in deed......
MUY BELLO BELLISIMO
Absolutely brilliant.
Have enjoyed watching your videos.
A great inspiration, made me go back to using oils.
More videos please , have you thought of doing Rubens Samson and Delilah.
Thanks again
Peace and happiness .
Have already done some studies of Rubens. If a bigger piece, it would be The rape of Orithyia by Boreas.
@@oldmasterpaintings5070 good choice great painting , loads of flesh ,red and blues.
would be expensive if you used lapis lazuli pigment which i think rubens would have used to get that amazing blue gray background.
or do you think he would have used something else.
thanks for sharing your work.
👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️👍🙏
i want to paint like this so bad.
You need to practice

music made me anxious but awesome painting !!!
wish we could see a little clip in the corner of your palette as you're using it
The background music could be from a renaissance era music... those long church-like, heaven-like themes....
Anyways, fantastic art🛐❤
😮😃👍🏻👏👏👏👏👏👏
все класс, вот бы еще рассказали о красках, которые использовали)))
Muito bom
Have you ever tried to paint an Orientalist work from Gerome or Ludwig Deutsch ?
This painting inspires me to paint too.
very nice end result. How many layers is this? When i put more than 2-3 layers the whole painting falls apart, I am very new to painting with oils so I have no clue what i do wrong, but I also dont understand how this portrait with so many layers ended up so nice. Please, explain! I mean her face color changed at least 3 times , was this planned/needed or just such spontaneous style of correcting until it's all good? Because i noticed some artists paint in only 1 or 2 layer, lot of careful planning. For now this is only thing that works for me
You really should make a Patreon where you upload your real time painting videos. I absolutely would pay money to see that.
It will be nice if you can give us a real time video. Also colors in use and mixes of pigments. Thanks!
There is nothing called as talent. Its more to do with interest .
Painting ,thankfully is not like " beauty". Some are born beautiful. Painting can be an acquired skill.
Thank you for your sharing . Does it look like this is painted on a wooden board?
Magnificent work when you put the flesh colors do you put then thin or thick
I think he does both thin and thick depending on the areas. But the initial colors were quite thin.
Hi thanks for sharing. Just wondering if you allow to dry between layers or was this wet in wet. It also looks like blending a bit too, is that what you do. Thanks very much
The layers are all dry, it´s not wet in wet. The layers are all very thin and transparent, the older layers will look always a little bit show through.
May i ask why did he use light Blue or whatever the name is as a base color for the skin tone? Wouldnt be the same if he Just use White directly? Pardon my lack of knowledge but ive seen many Artist using the same technique but with colors like red and now Blue even green i think. I Just want to learn. Thanks
How do you get the drawing onto your canvas?
