I have an original issue Poly and this re-issue. The original has better castings and fit, the re-issue (particularly the monorail station platform) does not build up as well as the original. The platforms and roof of the re-issue are warped, so it's virtually impossible to get it to build up square, especially the staircases.
You should try and find the grand Floridian
Do a review of the green monorail

Brayden I was in Disney World on Thursday 8/26 and I went into the emporium in Magic Kingdom and I saw the Cinderella Castle and Epcot. Just in case you need a set to review.
I have Epcot, filming soon. I also have Space Mountain. I'll get the castle after those are out :)

The really valuable monorail accessory that has yet to be re-released is not the Grand Floridian. It's the switching station. The latter has huge play value and adds much more to a monorail layout than the static resort buildings. The only bad thing about the switching station (beyond its rarity and expense) is the fact the internal switching mechanism it uses needs to be modified to work consistently. Stock it jams a lot; the modification to fix that problem involve adding material to broaden the floor the feet on internal sliding pieces ride on.
I just hope they re-release the Grand Floridian for a review! :D
What is so special about the Grand Floridian playset? It's the least inspired or realistic of any of the monorail resort playsets, basically just a stand alone loading platform, whereas the Contemporary and the Poly are much better representations of their actual prototypes.
MlleCantonVaud It's special because it is rare. Additionally, the Grand Floridian, the switching station, the resort signs, and the resort landscape are the only things I have not been able to review so far. That's the only reason.
In other words, all that matters is collectability? Not operating value? The switching station is just as rare as the Grand Floridian, but unlike the latter adds huge operational benefit. That is why the switching station goes for much more on the secondary market than the Grand Floridian. Also, the landscaping accessory is the cheapest, worst designed item Disney ever released for the monorail. If you bother to review that one, we're looking at a very short video!
MlleCantonVaud I do like some accessories better than others and there is lots of room for potential in the future, I agree. These videos are made so that one day, a full video review database of every monorail accessory to date will be available on CZcams for all to access. In order to do such, I must collect them all.
