    There are three types of food...Satvic, Rajasic and Tamasic. Satvic food is one which is withoud acidic elements and without things that grow under the soil. Satvic food is easily digested, cool and calms the mind. Mahaprasad is ultra pure food and therefore it is Satvic. Apart from this, it's also due to emphasis on use of only local ingredients.

    • @sameeryadav4333
      @sameeryadav4333 Před 2 lety +8

      If you read bhagwat gita then prasad is not satvic, rajsic or tamsic. Prasad is made from satvic ingredients but when it is offered to Lord, then it becomes free of karma and the three modes of material nature (sattva, rajas and tamas) Hare Krishna :)

    Potato, Tomato and Chilli are native to Central and South America. They are introduced by various European traders and colonisers. Before the discovery of Americas we used Tamarind instead of Tomato for sourness, Pepper instead of Chillies for heat, Tapioca, Yam etc instead of Potato. There are many other fruits and vegetables which we never think of as not desi which are actually from the new world.

    Onion and Garlic are part of Tamsik (sedative) food, isliye avoid kiya jata hai.

    This is the land of "KALINGA", where The Great ASHOKA transformed .
    Odisha ancient name is Kalinga.

    Those 'chudiya' you saw are called 'Shakha' and is a sign of 'suhaag'( married status) of Bengali, Odia and some Assamese women.., it is worn along with 'Pola'( red bangle made out of red coral from sea) from the day of wedding till if she becomes widow or untill she dies without becoming widow..

    Tomatoes are not thrown because they are sour. Lord's offerings are not thrown because they are sweet.
