Thank you SO much for sharing this, definately the most scariest out of the franchise for me, a lot being down to Julian Beck as Kane, that character still gives me nightmares when I re watch all these years later.

I always wondered, how they manage to make such realistic clouds... Thanks for sharing 👍

Oh I remember this. It was on HBO, when they used "making of" productions to fill minutes between movie features. My favorite was making of Alien 3. It was so cool, and hyped you up till opening day. What a bummer of a movie, when you saw it.

Never knew the house was a miniature when the clouds appeared above it, I thought it was the real house with light effects to simulate the lightning. Great special effects

    The scariest thing..
Is that all the scariest images came from the minds of man.

2:17 so there was a real guy without legs a with one arm inside the Monster. Sometimes rubber masks are much better than CGI.

Yes, his name was Noble Craig and he lost some of his limbs in the Vietnam war. He has done a couple of movies. Since I prefer practical effects over CGI I think it´s a briliant way to portrait characters like this one. That "vomit creature" scared the shit out of me as a kid and will forever be one of the scariest thing I´ve seen in a horror movie. Along with Reverend Kane.

Though both sequels are vastly inferior to its predecessor, "Poltergeist II: The Other Side" is still significantly better than the following installment in the franchise.

Although II gets pretty close with the introduction of Reverend Kane. Julian Beck's performance chilled this shiz out of my 10-year-old self, and he's only in two and a half scenes.

I agree,@@djmixnmagic. The late Julian Beck's all-too-brief performance as Reverend Henry Kane was indeed creepy and quite chilling. It's unfortunate he didn't reprise his role in the following installment two years later (due to his death in 1985 from stomach cancer at the age of sixty). May he continue to rest in peace. Thanks for commenting.

I wish MGM, would release the whole uncut version. It was suppose to a rated R, two and half hour movie. But it was butchered down to a 90 minute movie. The movie was described as a hardcore, mean and vicious film.

I couldn't agree with you more. The original, two-hour cut of "Poltergeist II: The Other Side" was truncated by MGM from its intended two hours and eleven minute (131 minutes) length to a miniscule hour and thirty-one minutes (91 minutes) prior to its theatrical release in May of '86, thus eliminating many of Zelda Rubinstein's scenes as well as the final confrontation with Reverend Henry Kane (Julian Beck) along with much of his backstory. Thanks for commenting, @@chotzrary.

The whole post-production was a big disaster, and Gibson's irational handling behind the filming just like with the third part under Sherman's direction after O'Rourke die in 87. But this special featurette making of was so rar to finding except PIII. One what they forget to explain was the real sceletons on the set, when Will Sampson exorcisme that. I am sure that neither executive producer Freddie Fields or producers Victor-Grais informed the cast of the real skeletons that were prepared for the cave-set. Just like the famous pool scene. Somehow disgusting and beyond inhuman.
