The Turkish Army has been using armored vehicles and tanks for a long time, since the Renault FT17 tank was first operated in 1928. While the Turkish Armed Forces used tracked tanks and armored vehicles extensively, they did not prefer wheeled armored vehicles much.
Another important example of the wheeled armored vehicles that the Turkish Armed Forces have recently started to prefer is the Alpha 8x 8 New generation armored combat vehicle from the Pars series developed by the FNSS company based in Ankara.
In particular, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has revealed the need for armored vehicles to be protected against drones and the need for situational awareness and high mobility in residential areas.
The armored vehicle designed by FNSS can be adapted to a wide variety of missions thanks to its modular structure.
In addition to barreled weapons, the Teber Tower used on ACV also has 2 anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) ready to fire. In this respect, the Teber Tower differs from other tower types.
The presence of anti-tank guided ammunition on the tower offers the opportunity to engage the Alpha 8 x 8 armored vehicle at a range exceeding 4 kilometers.
FNSS company developed the Teber tower as well as the armored vehicle. The tower has both manned and unmanned versions.
Turkiye has become a country that offers many options and has a wide variety of production in armored land vehicles. Turkiye's recent operations in Syria, Iraq and Libya have caused it to better reveal the requirements for armored vehicles. In this context, Turkish companies can produce a wide variety of products. FNSS company's Pars series is an important example of these capabilities.
