For me, Chongqing is rather like a small province, with a core city of over 8 million people. Economic growth began to take off spectacularly since Chongqing became its own municipality, separate from Sichuan province in 1997.

New York is nothing like this. New York City IS very pretty in its own way, but this great Chinese city is on another level. What a gorgrous and stunning feat of city planning and engineering.

I was there summer of 2008 it was an amazing city (especially at night when it turned into something from the future Bladerunner) then I can only imagine it now!!
Been to Europe, Mexico, all over US, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan. There is no city on earth that compares to Chongqing (pronounced: ChongShing)
Wife and I travelled thru Chongqing 2018, we were absolutely stunned, and still are....A M A Z I N G.
It's actually pronounced Chóngqìng, but "q" in Mandarin is pronounced a little bit like "ch" in "China", although not exactly. It's softer, with tongue touching the upper teeth when producing the sound. But the pronunciation in the video is atrocious... I would have been happier for "ChongShing" :D
My dude, I don't know what you are pronouncing here, but it is definitely not Chongqing. It is Chong with Trump's China-Ch and Qing like Qing dinasty - like jungle but put a strong pressure on that j.

As a New Yorker, it's silly to call Chongqing "Little New York", it's Chongqing. I've been there. Beautiful city, Different culture. I can appreciate both.👍

We could visit Chongqing later this year. Someone mentioned going to Yunnan Province. Maybe we can visit both places. My Chinese friends will decide where we go. It's always an adventure when visiting China.

the bridge in the empty river
winter is dry season in chogngqing. so the river is shallower. in summer, the river sometimes even flood the whole river bank. thats why the lowest level of roads in Chongqing are still 10 floors higher than the river bank.

Actually not new york has more skyscrapers than Chongqing. Even other chinese cities wuhan , shanghai and Guangzhou has higher skyscrapers than chongqing. And only two cities that has higher skyscrapers than new york that is shenzhen and hong kong
