Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

For all of us that don’t read the manuals. Great info.

Great tip. Thank you for sharing. ❤️🇨🇦
Donny I thought you were pulling our leg for a minute there and then I was like whaaaaaaaat??
Thank you for the update for my chainsaw .Q hg here by the summer end here beginning of winter here I have already little shiei of 10 cord here all my chainsaws I gave are cleaned up and put away here I get snow here and end to the negatives Temp here if I don't do this here for the chainsaws here I think will not hurt I never use them here in the winter here in Montana
Never knew this. Going on 17 years of running Stihls n Huskys. Guess we never needed to? Always just fired them up n got busy here in the contractor world. Whatever bar oil they brought us is what we ran. Have set the bar oil in the floor board of the bucket truck n turn the heat on to get it to flow better.
I'm going to look at my Stihl 271 today and see if I have that on mine.
That is very cool I didn't know that you could do that.. Thank you
Thank you been around saws a long time in B.C. and had never heard of this
Very nice. I did not know that. Thanks
I've got an ms271 and I'm having oiling issues. My chains are stretching way way too fast. I've changed the oiler, the bar, oiler tubing, and oil filter. Still doesn't sling oil like it used to. Any tips?
Cool. How cool!!!! You're so cool!!❤😮🇺🇸
Just remember to switch it back to summer mode once the temperate is above 10 degrees Celsius / 50 Fahrenheit 👍🏻
Thanks - I was wondering about the temp threshold, but we don't really get down to the winter temps (except at night), so one less thing to worry about.
Mind blown
How many degrees you use the winter mode???
I have. A switch on my stihl leaf blower. Too lazy to do so. Will this do damage in the engine if I run it during the winter? In summer mode. Thanks dony
I thought this was going to be a prank! Or is it? 😂
Does the Stihl hand held leaf blowers have them?
I'm not really sure why they need this feature. I have 2 stihl saws from the 70's and have never had a problem with the carb icing up in cold weather. I just bought a new one with this feature though and I'm going to just leave it in summer mode. Rarely gets below 30 degrees where I live.
You should also drain your bar oil and refill the reservoir with winter (i.e.: thinner) bar oil.
Thanks for the tip! If I forget to change this back in the summer time (after switching to winter mode now) will that damage the engine?
yes. above 50 degrees F the saw needs to be in summer mode
dose husky ....565 have this....il look it up however you might know
not sure but I would imagine so
@@donyboy73 merci bonhomme
Thanks Donny! Do you think the nylon air filters help any in the colder temperatures?
possibly
You don't even need an air filter in the winter
These saws are nothing but trouble
FAKE , come on people
