When I was young and naive, I thought I was going to hell because I didn’t like preaching like this at the churches I attended. I grew up and thank Jesus for showing me that real teaching has substance!
Same here! I was recently telling my mom how I feel so embarrassed when I think about my younger years in church, how I thought this was from God! However, I was always irritated by this preaching style.
I can't stand when pastors say things like "cancer didn't take you, because God loves you." What is that implying about the people who did die of cancer? That God didn't love them? It's irresponsible to the people who are battling cancer and the people who have lost loved ones to cancer

Step five: scream in general when ya can’t remember what the next point is… or the prompter forgot the timing.. Step six: end up saying the same thing ten times while simultaneously saying nothing at all *be sure to point and scitter across the stage in random zig zag directions- (think Biden-but more methamphetamine) Step seven: when you realize the crowd isn’t really getting it but the music still keepin em dancing - crescendo into buzz terms (suggested: ‘generational curse, binding, wind, fire, blessings, lion witches wardrobes warlocks dwarves elves tree a persons’..etc-no need for rationality here …) Step eight: collection plate.

30 years ago I was in a meeting with a pastor who said about the people will cheer for anything, then he went out and preached and in the middle started whooping and saying, collard greens, chicken, sweet potatoes, and the people were shouting and some even speaking in tongues. Yeah it happens

I actually watched the entire sermon and there were great preaching points. He walked thru alot of the old testament with revelation. I feel like you picked out the mishaps and theatrics but there were good moments! Some years ago I went to a church service type thing in the park with my son. It was the church that he was going to at the time. Well, the preacher called for anyone to come forth if they wanted prayer or whatever. There was a girl lying on the ground from him praying over her, like you see in the videos. Well, he told my son to hold me so when I went down, I wouldn't hurt myself. He prayed over me and I was still standing afterwards. LOL Ok, I kind of did it on purpose a little. I don't believe in that. LOL You should have seen the look on his face because I was still standing!!!Haaaaa!
I'm sorry but this is one reason why I stopped going to black churches. I don't need your pumping and priming. I need the word, in truth. I don't see how the pastors don't have any type of accountability for the people because their souls are at stake. Then on the other side I don't see how people can sit there and listen to this because they should understand also God will judge them too. They won't be without excuses either. They can read for themselves.
The first church I was a member of was a Black church in 1975 that did not have politics nor theatrics. Today I see both. And if things don't go right, all they have to do is blame "The White Man" (Republicans).

Why do these type preachers never preach about salvation, seeking God's heart, and striving for holiness and righteousness? God will bless you cause he loves you BUT they always leave out the caveat of being holy. " Basically, by their logic, God loves you enough for you to keep doing what you're doing and he'll just rescue you I guess with no lessons and the likelihood of you doing it again

I actually watched the entire sermon and there were great preaching points. He walked thru alot of the old testament with revelation. I feel like you picked out the mishaps and theatrics but there were good moments! And the black church is theatrics so ofc a lot of people ain’t gon understand or like the fluff or extraness of preaching.
My church is practically all Black. I don’t do theater, entertainment, histrionics or fluff. I like to laugh and have my congregation enjoy themselves on Sunday, but I give the Word reverence and preach the Gospel.

I really don’t know what to say about this “preaching” There is so much foolishness going on here..
Some years ago I went to a church service type thing in the park with my son. It was the church that he was going to at the time. Well, the preacher called for anyone to come forth if they wanted prayer or whatever. There was a girl lying on the ground from him praying over her, like you see in the videos. Well, he told my son to hold me so when I went down, I wouldn't hurt myself. He prayed over me and I was still standing afterwards. LOL Ok, I kind of did it on purpose a little. I don't believe in that. LOL You should have seen the look on his face because I was still standing!!!Haaaaa!

I'm sorry but this is one reason why I stopped going to black churches. I don't need your pumping and priming. I need the word, in truth. I don't see how the pastors don't have any type of accountability for the people because their souls are at stake. Then on the other side I don't see how people can sit there and listen to this because they should understand also God will judge them too. They won't be without excuses either. They can read for themselves.
The first church I was a member of was a Black church in 1975 that did not have politics nor theatrics. Today I see both. And if things don't go right, all they have to do is blame "The White Man" (Republicans).

@@tonyaustin1475 I'm from the south..and I grew up in the Baptist church and this kind of preaching is good, but it's used way to much....but I learned to appreciate every style of preaching....Baptist preachers really don't break down and teach the scriptures...they sermons are focused on CLOSING...making the crowd shout...this is why they use music..it helps them

Why do these type preachers never preach about salvation, seeking God's heart, and striving for holiness and righteousness? God will bless you cause he loves you BUT they always leave out the caveat of being holy. They preach down to the toxic situations their followers often times find themselves in without the accountability of "had you been seeking God you wouldn't find yourself here. " Basically, by their logic, God loves you enough for you to keep doing what you're doing and he'll just rescue you I guess with no lessons and the likelihood of you doing it again

I went back to church when he returned & I saw some of the things that I research happen before my eyes. He even knew that I did & threw subliminal at me. Just from when I did watch reality tv, just one look at him in real housewives of Potomac and his ex wife I could just tell something was off with him and then I witnessed more sermons and interviews and it confirmed he’s in it for the money and attention not to save souls. Whenever a church compromises the word to appease the world or worldly views that are clearly against God, that’s an automatic sign of a false teacher and a dangerous church to be in.

Unknowingly, I had already listened to part of this sermon without seeing who it was preaching and where at and when I had a few seconds to spare I sat down and wrote in the comments section still without knowing but once I realized who it was and where he was I changed my mind and immediately deleted my comment because of my feelings of disdain towards such practices and what I was seeing and Discerning was a deep sorrow for the people who were there, "DECEPTION."
