Climber here wanting to share some fun facts. The figure 8 follow through (knot 2) is going to be much more efficient and stronger than the girth hitch (knot 1). When weighted, your weight is placed all on the knot for the figure 8 follow through which tightens as weight is added creating redundancy. On knot 1, the girth hitch is taking all the weight and not the knot. The girth hitch breaks around 50% of a rope’s strength whereas a figure 8 breaks around 75-80% of the rope’s strength. Great channel!
I know there's little poetic illustrations to help you remember these knots but I think I would have to study those things like a month before I could get it down. Like the saying about how to tell a difference between a coral snake and a king snake I think it's like red touch yellow friendly fellow black touch red you're dead or whatever. I was recently watching one of these two videos and a guy said the easiest way to tell them apart is the coral snake has an ink black head.
In hunting endeavors if you climb trees in order to evade a deer’s keen sense of smell, eliminating hardware which might make unnatural noise is a good thing.

Barrel knot
Never stop posting hunting fishing wildlife tips and tricks, this shit is useful and I reference it
Scaffold hitch
Could you throw those knots just a little bit faster?
Have fun trying to copy that🤣🤣
Why do the figure 8 if you hitch it? What was the purpose? I need further context please.

Why not use carbiners?
Less noise potential, less weight
